I think that sounds good. Last year we had a PJ Breakfast on the last morning (Castaway Cay). I think that was the only morning we could get. It would be nice if we could meet early in the cruise.

Paul

Paul, when you say that was the only morning you could get, what did you mean? Did you all try to have it in a particular place or was this the only time that was good for most folks?

Here are the instructions that I used for makking my FEs. I'm not much for measuring, so my first one was really off the mark. But because it was so big, we were always able to immediately find our room :rotfl:! That's the one that we will be using this cruise. These are instructions that I got off of the boards here a couple of years ago. I copied them verbatim.

Home made using Iron on transfer paper that prints on our home ink jet printer.
You need 1/4 yard of fabric, iron interfacing, wide double fold bias tape, and a 3/8" dowel 8" long.

Pockets are 11" X 5 1/2"
Back is 32" X 8"

Cut out backing and pockets then iron on interfacing.
Sew bias tape on top of pocket
pleat once on each side and pin bottom of pocket so that it is 8" wide.
baste, then pin bias tape on bottom and sew on
Pin pockets on backing and sew bottom of pocket to backing
Pin and baste around entire outside of project.
Pin then sew bias tape around outside edge of whole fish extender
fold top over leaving room for you dowel at top and sew along the inside of bias tape down each side to secure.

I am not a professional! These are just my notes on how I made mine. Good luck!

Kudos to CQUICK for passing on the instructions to me! This is such a fun project!

I did not use printed out transfers. I am into to really easy. So, I just bought some iron-on transfers. Worked great. Hope this helps someone out.

Sorry for sounding stupid but what's the lifeboat drill?? :confused3

The lifeboat drill is a mandatory drill that all passengers must attend, including children. There will be be bells that are sounded and you are directed to go to your cabin to get your life jackets. Put them on and then go to your muster station which is on your life jacket. After you are there, cast members will do a head count. They won't release the group until everyone onboard is accounted for. This is where you will meet should there be an emergency and you would be directed to the lifeboats.

Did that make sense?

Sounds simple enough!! Thanks. :thumbsup2

I'm not sure since I didn't plan this. This was just a guess. All I know is we all met (well maybe about 35 of us) at Lumieres Friday morning. Maybe more would of come if it was a sea day. It was still very nice and the person who planned it I think did a great job. I do remember her saying she had to go back & forth with DCL to plan this.

Okay, that's kind of what I thought. When we tried to have a meet on one of my other cruises, they tried to get Palo. Alas, we were unable to do that. I think I will start trying to find out if we can get a room or some space to have big celebration. We have 3 sea days, so we should be able to come up with something. Thanks.

I think that it is good to meet earlier rather than later. I would like to have an intial meet on the first day, maybe after the sail-away party or lifeboat drill.

I think that's a great idea to meet the first day, but after the lifeboat drill is the sail-away party. After the sail away party (or at least for me) I'm hoping my luggage got to my stateroom so I can get ready for dinner.

FOUR WORDS --- It's a buzz kill

Brenda is...as always...perfectly correct. To satisfy Maritime law...prior to sailing...cruise ships must assemble ALL persons at their assigned muster station. Think...the fire drill you went through in grade school. Then, toss in a bulky and bright orange life preserver into the mix.

Directly after the drill...Disney puts together an AWESOME sail away party. You don’t want to miss this. Everyone gathers on decks 9 & 10 – mid ship. I’d suggest having a good view of the ‘Dumbo-tron’.

Before you know it...you’re waving good-bye to Port Canaveral, Jetty Park...then, out to sea. Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Ahh Kevin you make it sound so exciting. I can't wait.... for the "out to sea" part that is

I know, it is so busy that first day. The life boat drill is at 4:30 then the sail-away party. And then you are right, then it's off to the cabin for luggage and to get ready for dinner. We have main seating, so we will definitely be busy.

Maybe, about 3:30 for an informal meet. How does that sound?

This is soooooo right :lmao:. Once, I was just finishing a massage when the lifeboat drill sounded. My friend and I looked like keystone cops trying to get dressed, get to our cabin, and then to our muster station. I was NOT happy. That was when they did lifeboat drills halfway through the cruise.

Needless to say, I had a lot to say on my comment card. The next time that I sailed on Carnival, the lifeboat drill was at the beginning of the cruise.
