10/23/11 - Disney Dream

We're B2B also and this is our 1st leg also.

Two stops in CC is going to be great, plus we'll treat the most of one and all of the Nassau days as sea days as well as the day we "turn", so it there will be a lot of time exploring the ship. :cool1:

Count us in too as B2B with this eing are first leg too -- turn day -- the 27th is our 10 year anniversary and I just couldn't see starting or ending a cruise on that day so we're staying onboard :cool1:

I have to know is "turn day" an official term, or are you guys just inventing it.. BEcause I like it a lot...

I like the "Turn Day" term as well. We're B2B but Our Turn Day will be Oct 23rd so this is the last leg of our cruise. Like you Jeff, I'm spending a lot of time on this ship exploring. I have only one excursion planned in Nassau and I'm thinking that when it is over we'll be back on-board enjoying.

Sorry Cheryl.......I am leaving mine at home!!!!!:cool1::cool1: Actually, you will be seeing me tearing up alot knowing how much they would love the new ship......that is why I am rebooking onboard!!!!!!
I may have to take Paige to get her pics with all the characters so I feel like a mom!
Alex has actually been very understanding about this cruise......Julia on the other hand is so jealous! Harrison is too busy to even notice I have been talking about going.

I've been kicking around going on an Alaskan without kids. But I really have a feeling that they'd never let me hear the end to it. DCL Alaska is Soooo expensive. I'm considering other cruise lines.

.

When we get on you will have to give us the inside scoop on what to do during the b2b process.. I know others have written about it.. But it does seem to change.. And you will have the most recent info...

I'd be happy to answer questions once your onboard. I may be wrong but I'm betting that there will be very few people having turn day on the 23rd. It's more odd to straddle the weekend than go traditional.

Woo hoo! FE gifts are finished!! Too bad they fill a whole suitcase.

We have pirate outfits for Pirate night. The kids are going all out. DH & I are going half way with T-shirts, accessories, and khaki capris for me, DH has shorts (GASP!!) but the shorts are part of his "costume." ;)

My youngest is wearing her princess dress and crown for semi-formal night.

We are also going to MNSSHP the day we disembark. It has been rumored you can enter the park early at 4 pm with just the MNSSHP tickets. (Ewerstruly: Maybe this will help with the Pirates League?) The kids chose this year to pick non-disney costumes so we will be escorting Cleopatra and a Peacock Princess. DH & I will have on Disney Halloween shirts.

I am pulling out the suitcases this weekend! We may be packing more than I thought...
We just finished packing the FE gifts. I had to get out a bigger suitcase.
Ahhh a princess dress. I bet your DD will look beautiful.

I am the middle of taking a break from making my FE gifts. I like the way they are turning out. I hope you all like them.

Only about 10 people requested the FE list in Excel and seems like likely only the same people are posting lately. And I still havent heard anything from our TBDs. So why don't we do a little roll call to let us know that you are still with us. Tell us what it is about the FE that you like.

I'll go first. I love going room to room and secretly passing my gift out. Kinda makes me feel like Santa :)

And please anyone who has a different room, unusual veranda, Cool window, please lead us to your room to show .. everyday I keep finding out that there are some neat unusual rooms on this ship. Has anyone seen the large Porthole cat 8 rooms.. They are to die for.. Heck 1 could spend 20 - 30 cruises seeing all the different rooms...

fe gifts are done, packed and ready to go...so looking forward to our first fe experience, first Disney cruise..less then 2 weeks before we fly!!!! Working on the last Tshirts this week end Have a great week end:yay:

Lori, you can take our DS for pics if you want. I hate waiting in the lines. However, not sure if Suz feels the same way. You two can always take him. :thumbsup2

I have to know is "turn day" an official term, or are you guys just inventing it.. BEcause I like it a lot...

Not an official term that I'm aware of. I guess I was going back to my golf/caddy days when to the area between the 9th and 10th hole was referred to as the "turn" (going from the front 9 to the back 9). We're going from one to the next. ;)

We are toying around with an AK cruise in the future as well. Not sure about next year though (we currently have the 10/20 Dream cruise booked - DS has 2 days off school that week). We would take him if we go to AK.

I hear you DCL's prices though. You can get a balcony on the other lines for the price of a window room on DCL. And if we're going to AK, we're getting a balcony.

Princess seemed to have good pricing, but Celebrity out of Vancouver has a roundtrip cruise that only goes inside, thus staying off the ocean. I think that would be a more calm cruise.

But then I'm thinking maybe we should do a one-way and spend time going up to Danali (sp?). Not sure when we'd get back that way.

I would have loved to "turn" on the weekend. I like your way of doing a 3 and then a 4. You get to end the cruise with a sea day.

In hindsight, we could have done a 3-4 departing on the 27th and turning on the 30th. In fact, we could have done 3-4-3 based on DS's school schedule this year. We would have missed actually less school. Go figure.

FE Question - DW was wondering if we have an offical logo for this cruise. She is getting ready to do the FE gifts.

I know I have some logos that Steve made me, but wasn't sure if we had one that everyone was using.

Thanks.
