10/23/11 - Disney Dream

We have second dining. Wanted Palo brunch and had it all set for 10:30....then....the infamous DCL website glitch struck and you all know what that means.:sad2: Not sure if I'll try onboard or not. We were only second on the wait list last year on the Wonder and still didn't get in.:sad1:

We have late dining. We got a Palo dinner but no brunch. :( And we're gold CC, so I thought for sure we'd get it. Hopefully on board.

I have to say it ... i absolutely LOVE the dancing banana. He makes me smile. There, got that off my chest! Anyway ... I was just wondering if there would be any way to organize a little disboards trick or treat for the kids ... maybe for the same time as a cruise meet since we're all in one place and since there are no Halloween festivities on our cruise. Just an idea. i'm so bummed about the no Halloween activities!

Again on one of the cruises we were on, the dis group brought candy and had a group of rooms listed as candy hot spots.. Then at an appointed time.. Which I think was 4 in the afternoon.. The little munchkins made their rounds..

I am willing to bring some candy this year.. but for the love of God.. there had better be trick or treaters.. I can not bear the thought of me alone in that room with all that sweet delicious chocolate as it calls to me.. "come on eat just one more"

Per the dancing Banana... I do agree that dancing fool knows how to boogie..

I think that dancing banana needs to be dipped in chocolate and thrown in the freezer! :rolleyes1

Yummm ... Chocolate covered frozen banana!

If we're getting together to meet anyway, I just thought we could bring a bag of candy and let the kids do their thing there somehow ... Kinda how they have those trunk or treats in school parking lots ... Everying all in one place. Having never been on a cruise before, I'm not sure how or if this would work. Just an idea I thought I'd throw out there.

Just as a total side note, I do like the high Tea.. (We have only done it once) It was a very special low key relaxing little drink and tasty treat in the middle of the day. Highly recommended to all. But with only one day at sea.. If you got the brunch, you would have to roll into a high Tea in just a few hours..

Again it is those little things that do tend to be left out of the shorter cruises..

Really going to miss the midnight Desert buffet.. May have to bring along a few twinkies and cupcakes and have a mini buffet one night.. popcorn::

Nope we are using a rental car to get back to Orlando. Only taking ME on November 1st when we fly home.

I just noticed that you all are staying in Orlando until 11/1, I wonder if we'll be flying home to DEN on the same flight? We're staying at Nick Suites for 6 days after the cruise. Our kids are older and have done Disney many times, so this time we're going to visit Seaworld, Aquatica, Busch Gardens & Universal with a trip to WDW for MNSSHP on Halloween night.

Getting excited, if you're flying SW, we'll probably see you a few different times. :thumbsup2

I cannot believe how these days are flying by! I am frantic sewing pirate costumes!

Can anyone here help me out with something? I have 3 little boys with autograph books ... but can only drop off 2 items at guest services for autographs/signatures. Is anyone here not planning on using their 2? Or do you think guest services would do all three for me? It's limit 2 items per stateroom, I've heard. Thanks.

I dropped off 3 pillowcases during our last cruise, but then again we had linked staterooms. You're welcome to use one of our stateroom numbers 6148/6150. I can go to GS with you after our meet if you like.

Add some Ding Dongs and I'll want to know it you are selling tickets.
Seriously, don't forget about the "treat case" at Cove Cafe. :thumbsup2

Our Remy is Monday Night.. and our Brunch is Wed at 11:30..

So I will make a deal, we will not eat all the cheese at remy if you Hold back at the Brunch till we get there.. :rotfl:

Deal! Save me cheese and I will save you shrimp!

Hmmmm thinking I should be a little scared :scared1:

Possibly :)

We have High Tea at 3:00 on Wed and Palo dinner at 6:00 on Wed. We are hoping to make some changes onboard. We REALLY wanted brunch and would trade the dinner and the tea for it.

Very surprised we were able to get Brunch!

The "Treat Case" is where the leftover Palo brunch desserts are put. On the Classic ships it was in the Cove Cafe. Not sure where it is on the Dream.

This is Crazy4Disney! We are so excited to be on the DREAM, however OUR CABIN # HAS CHANGED from 10108 to 10112. The other room connected to ours remains the same. Thanks! Tina

Like all the food, you just have to be there when they put out the desserts. They go quick and sometimes there aren't any if all the brunchers eat them (I know I try my best when we do brunch).

You are not required to buy coffee to indulge in these treats. Pastries, chocolate covered strawberries etc. Best of all you won't need to pack the cupcakes and twinkies

Our cabin #s have changed too! I hope our luggage doesn't make it's way to our old cabins :)

Wow, well I am going to look into the coffee cove on the Dreams, what ever they call it..

But we will still be bringing the twinkies because As we drive through the Great State of Georgia we are doing a Tour of some of the sites where they filmed the movie Zombieland and twinkies are an important item in such a trip..

But now we will dispose of them (in an enviromentally safe manner of course) before the cruise
