10/23/11 - Disney Dream

We're planning to stay at Ron Jon's the night before our cruise. I'll be waking up early and watching the Dream pull into port.

Hey Steve,
I looked at that it looks like a fun place. Do they have a shuttle to port? Can you watch the Dream pull in right from the resort?

I actually stayed at the RJ before our 2009 cruise. They do NOT have a shuttle over to the port. I drove DW and DS and the luggage over then took our car back.

Funny story about seeing the Magic/Wonder sailing back in. In 2007 we stayed here for our first time. I woke up in the middle of the night/morning, and thought I'd go out and look down towards port to see the Magic in the dock (thinking it was already in). I walk out the door, turn right, and there she was sailing past the end of the hall. I ran back in to get my camera to take some pics. It was an incredible site.

The room we had in 2009 had a balcony facing the sea. I was not up when she came in that time, but would have had no problem watching her from my balcony.

We're staying at the Radisson the night before. We stayed there before our Carnival Dream cruise last year and liked it. They have a nice pool area and fun pool bar, the rooms have sleep number beds, it's pretty close to the port. They do have a shuttle, but Tommy is too impatient to wait so we always arrange our own ride to the port.

Thanks for the Heads up Jeff. I'll make sure that we keep the rental car until the morning.

Also, if you belong to AAA, call them. I'm not sure if they have a discount or not, but I don't believe you can book it online, only over the phone.

I got a repeat customer discount last time. Had a great 2-bedroom suite that we shared with AFEG. Tons of room and a HUGE balcony.

Hi PJ!!!!! :)

I hope everyone is having a nice holiday weekend. Today my sister and I went to Lancaster, PA for the day. We did some outlet shopping as well as visiting Kitchen Kettle Village and a motel that every room is a train car! We didn't stay there overnight, but we did get to peak in at one of the rooms. It was pretty cool!

Happy Easter and Passover! Can't believe the cruise s less than 6 months away!

Good morning folks

Been a while since I was here usually over at cruisecritic but wanted to say hi.

As beth said we booked the Radisson for the day before wanted to get a room booked with 10,000 people boarded the same day I thought the hotels my book up fast.

Hoping to eat at Grills again great seafood

Tom

I booked the Hampton Inn for the night prior, it also has a shuttle to the port AND it is directly on the beach, the Grandkids will want to go on the beach. It also has breakfast. The location is about a mile from the port.

I have stayed at the Radisson before, it is nice but it isn't on the beach side and doesn't inlcude breakfast. I have also stayed at this Hampton before, it is very very clean and a decent price.

Book a room if needed ASAP, lots of people stay on the weekend. Lots and lots of cruisers!

Sherry

I just read that all the hotels that have free shuttles are going to start charging after may 1st the port is starting to charge all vehicles entering the port area. But if you book a package that includes a free shuttle it still will be free.

It doesn't really affect me I plan on cabing it the shuttles leave to late
