10/23/11 - Disney Dream

We just stayed at the AKL had a balcony over looking the savana it was great getting up in the morning going out on the balcony and seeing the animals right there

Welcome to the cruise.

Will you be doing a B2B on the Dream or is your other Dream cruise at a different time?

Thank you.

Not a B2B. Our cruise on the Dream will be coming up on 3/10. It'll be our first 3-night so we could check out the ship. Couldn't wait!

Our cabin on this cruise (10/23) will be right next door to the one we'll have on 3/10. :goodvibes

Good afternoon, DM and I have added the 3 day (10/27/11) to our B2B (10/30 & 11/3.) I did sign in over there, but noticed that most of the people on the 3 day were doing the 4 day before. So, thought I would check in here too. :flower3:

Pj

We will be on the 10/27 as well, but are doing the 10/23 first. There are a few of us doing that whole week.

So, if you added the 3 day to your B2B, does that mean you're doing a total of 10 nights? Cool.

Good morning

Since this is my first cruise on Disney I do have a question is the Disney buses the best way to get from port canaveral to Disney we are staying at the Beach club villas after with DVC membership.

Can't wait for the cruise and the Food and wine festival afterwards:cool1:

Never have done the busses but I hear they run seamlessly. The only downfall for us is the cost. For the price of 3 of us, we can rent a car for less. Plus, after this cruise, we will probably be flying back later that night, so we wouldn't be able to partake in the Magical Express (no hotel stay).

I'm sure others can give you more info on it though.

Yep, :upsidedow.

My ticker says 8 months!!!!!
It's rainy & dreary today here so I am dreaming of 2 wonderful days on Castaway Cay!

Got a few questions for you guys that have done b2b cruises before.
How exactly does that work the morning of the 2nd cruise? I think I have read before they take the b2b group off together & re-check you in then take you back on the ship. What exactly can we do when back aboard the ship before the other cruisers are let on later? I am thinking it would be a great time to do a photo walk & I would love getting in the pool & hot tub without big crowds.
Also do you get the same serving team at dinner?

Another question......
I have seen a couple of your guys talking about getting a deal on a room at Atlantis for the day. How does that work?

I can't answer your question Melanie since this will be my 1st cruise. I am looking forward to a child-free, work-free few days though!

Amanda

Melanie,

I would love to do a photowalk with you.

I have read that others are able to use the pools, hot-tubs, cove cafe is open with treats, for everyone who is b2b, even the under 18s. Doing laundry is a job some b2b have listed. Other b2bers have noted that they were able to ask to have the same servers during their first cruise.

I think the only no nos are popping in and out of your room once the ropes are up, and they just ask that we don't get in the way of crew working the switch over tasks.

Pj

Don't quite know how the b2b works -- this will be our first one :thumbsup2

I do know that some people book either a room at the Atlantis or Comfort Suites so they can have access to the Atlantis water park, pools and beaches. Usually works out to be less $$ than doing the excursion through Disney.

PJ I am sure that would make Eric happy so he doesn't have to schelp all around the ship with me obsessing about taking pictures.
Being able to get in the pool/hut tub sounds great!

Ok great, maybe someone that has done it can give us more details.

Hi Melanie!

I'm so excited whenever our ticker changes! I've been on vacation all month and when I went back to school yesterday I changed my countdown Mickey head and did a little happy dance! :woohoo:

We have cruised with Disney before but have never done a back to back so I can't help you there!

As far as the Atlantis goes, we did that excursion by booking it on our own back in 2005 on our first Disney cruise. Back then, it was about $235.00 to book a day room on your own and have full access to the Atlantis. Now, the Atlantis charges a bunch of different fees (housekeeping, taxes etc.) per person rather than on the room itself. For our family of 4, booking a room for the day we are going to be there was only $100 less than booking directly through Disney. You may be able to book it cheaper through websites or other deals. Let me know if you find one! I just checked and the price for the least expensive room was $579.20 + taxes and fees :scared1:!! We really enjoyed spending the day there and are looking foward to visiting again!

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Happy Monday Dream Cruisers

I've been researching hotels in Cocoa Beach. Last time we sailed out of Port Canaveral we stay at the Radisson next to the port, but this time I was hoping to stay by the beach. Does anyone know of a good hotel on the beach?

Hi, checking in. Our family will be joining this cruise as well. We just booked while onboard the Magic earlier this month. I can't believe I'm already planning another cruise, but after the Magic, we just couldn't resist checking out the Dream.

We are Jessica & Garrett, joined by our 4 kids; Ethan (16 at sailing), Kalista (11 by sailing), Seth (9) & Griffin (7). we had such a great time on our 7 day Western Caribbean cruise, I'm worried 4 nights won't be enough. We booked 6 more in Orlando to stretch it out. I wasn't aware of the b2b option.

Is there an FE started in this group yet? If so, we'd love to join; magnet exchange too. Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Cheers,
Jessica

Wow that is steep. There are only 2 of us so I think the excursion might always be the better way to go than a room. But I will keep checking.

Welcome!!! We are in Littleton :). Glad to have fellow Coloradans on the cruise with us!!!

I just wanted to post and introduce us since we will be joining you on this exciting cruise!

It will be me (Amy) and my DH (Dave)and this will be our fourth Disney Cruise. We are traveling with my DMIL MagicMe as well as Dave's brother and his girlfriend.

We purchased the newest issue of '23' and the Dream is on the cover. My husband read it yesterday while at jury duty and he is so excited to go! I'm planning on looking at it tonight!

We both love Disney and had a Disney themed 'at home' wedding. We'll actually have been married for 2 years and 6 days when we set sail! I am a long time Disney Store Cast Member (I started there in 1999 and I'm still there now!) and I worked at WDW for a few months in 2002 and 2003. We both love anything Disney!

I started reading the thread, but I have several pages I still have to catch up on. Just wanted to post to introduce ourselves while I get caught up with the reading! :)

Looking forward to meeting and talking with everyone over the next few months!
