10/23/11 - Disney Dream

I was about to send you our info and I realized I am off half a week. We are actually on the 27th and 30th cruises. Guess I am to exited about our next trip, I slipped it several days..... :upsidedow .. Have Fun Everyone...

Update: Now I see why I also picked this thread.. There is no thread for the Oct 27th Cruise... Guess no DIS'ers are doing that cruise or no one wants to take on the work (which includes me). ;)

No worries! We're all pretty excited about the Dream!:)

Hey, there are a few of us here doing the B2B w/ the 27th as our second cruise. I know there isn't a thread for the 10/27, so if you want to chat here, go right ahead.

That's a good idea. Even though those of us not doing B2Bs will be incredibly jealous! Actually, we're going to MNSSHP :hmghost: and F&WF :drinking1 after this one, so I can't complain too much! ;)

Same with us! We have 5 more nights at WDW after the cruise :). We love Food and Wine and MNSSHP. I love being able to take the kids trick or treating in Florida. When we take them in Colorado they have to wear a warm costume. At least there they can be something that isn't made of fleece ;).

Cool, will do.. Once we thought about it a B2B made more sense. We are already flying in from California and the ticket home does cost anymore if I fly home after the first or second cruise so might as well enjoy it. Now if I could just make it a B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B2.......... :rotfl:

Seems most people like the 4day followed by the 3day. Makes sense since that starts/ends on a Sunday. Trouble was the DVC point value went up for the Nov 3rd cruise so we kept to the cheaper 27th/30th cruise dates...

Welcome to all new cruisers! I'm so happy to see this thread hoppin. :yay: Guess I need to check more often. Good to see others will be enjoying WDW after the cruise too. We will be at BLT after the cruise until Oct 31 for MNSSHP. We are all very excited as we have never been to WDW for Halloween. Hmmm I wonder if there will be Halloween activites on the Dream?

Yes, at least on the 31st there will be. That is way we are doing a B2B with the 27th and 30th. According to the thread for the 30th, Disney does a great Halloween celebration on the ship. I am now thinking of bringing two costumes (1 pirate, 1 halloween). Just hope my neighborhood understands why there won't be a haunted graveyard at my house this year... :)

We were on this same cruise on the Wonder in 2009 (October 25-29) and they had a lot of Halloween activities. The characters were dressed up in costumes (Chip and Dale were a police officer and prisoner, Donald was a Super Hero, etc.)

We also got to go trick or treating around the trip. Is was so cute to see all the little kids dressed up in costumes. We ended up just dressing our daughter in her pirates outfit. They gave us each a map and we trick or treated based off of our stateroom number. That way everyone didn't show up to the same place at the same time. It was about an hour long, and you just followed your map and went in the order it told you to go in. The castmembers passed out candy and they were dressed up, too. They gave us the same plastic bags that they use at MNSSHP. It was really cute!

This sounds like alot of fun! Now I'm even more excited. We will have to bring costumes. are there any opportunities for the adults to dress in costume too? :goodvibes

We took our costumes for MNSSHP on this cruise last year. We got our pictures in costume with the characters and had a "formal" picture taken in costume. They had a costume contest in the adult club after 2nd seating dinner. There were quite a few adults in costume. We had a great time and got lots of compliments. I think some of the adults who didn't dress up wished they had!

The youngest cruiser in this thread has arrived! DD was born Wednesday afternoon! (and keeping up with the current topic, yes, she will be bringing a Halloween costume.)

We cruised on Halloween in 2007 & loved dressing up. We actually won the Most Disney catagory of the costume contest. It was a blast. The piano player in the lobby even did a whole Mary Poppins medley once he saw us walk in.

Kinda sad that we aren't doing the Halloween sailing. We will be getting off the ship on the 30th.:sad2:

Linda, My oldest daughter will be almost 8 at that time too! Then my youngest daughter will be 4. We will have to get them together. And my husband and I are hitting 10 year anniversary in September!

Dana,
That sounds great! Have your kids been cruising before? We have been on a couple of cruises with the kids -- the last one was on RCCL last year and the kids didn't want to leave the kids club.

I have a feeling that this time on the Dream, they really won't want to leave!

They are already starting to get excited about going away in Oct. (but not as much as their Mom :woohoo:)

Hi everyone. We are also booked on this cruise. It will be myself, DH, DD8, and DD4. This is our 3rd Disney cruise, but my youngest was only 6mo. old on our last one. We have been booked and lurking for awhile. We can't wait. We are FE newbies, but please sign us up too.

Welcome! It sounds like there will be a few of us with little ones about the same age :yay:

October can't be here soon enough!
