Did everyone have a good holiday weekend?

I was browsing the boards and saw some information about independent excursions in St. Thomas/St. Maartin. Made me wonder if they were worth checking out.

Has anyone taken independent (non-DCL) excursions in these ports? I know the cruise is still SO FAR AWAY but it would be awesome to hear what other people have done for the day in these ports.

Sorry Wendy, I only take DCL excursions. I don't want the worry of having the ship leave without me. We had a bad experience in Cozumel in 2007 and thankfully, we were on a DCL excursion. Otherwise....we would have been looking for transportation to the next island on our own.

I have heard of braver souls who do it all the time though.
