Well lets switch it to a Secret Cabin Parley then. I think with the economy and all the costs that go along with a cruise this would be the best thing. I can still take names and cabin numbers, and maybe send me things that you like and dislike, just like you would do with a Secret Pal (Parley did you hear that?)

A month before cruise time I (or my hubby under my name) will send out PM's with your Secret Cabin number and the info that goes along with it.

Sounds good - we might want to do it a little earlier than a month before though, so it gives us time to shop if we want to make the gift more personalised.

We're up for meets too Not sure about FEs at the moment. Although we had a lot of fun with the one on our last cruise, we had so much stuff to take home we could have done with an extra suitcase. And we're even more restricted on baggage next year since the airline has changed their baggage allowances again

Ok, I am officially a Disney dork! For years, Wishes was out of order on my iTunes/iPod. I found my original CD when I was packing and removed it from iTunes. I then reloaded it in the correct order!

I'm thinking that we will stay with the secret cabin parley idea and then if you want to go that extra mile and give and FE to everyone on the thread I can make up a list of people and cabins by deck. I think with luggage restrictions we will have more participants doing the Secret Cabin vs an all out FE exchange.
Cut off date of July 31, 2011, and I will have all info to those participating in the SCP on Aug. 15, 2011, have total amount of cabins for those who want to do the FE exchange then as well. FE lists can be pm'd or emailed on Oct 1st, and hopefully a final cabin list by then.

Welcome Sherry and family!I'm Char and my DH is Nathan and we are traveling with our 3 youngest boys. We cruised for our first time this past January, the Western itinerary, now we're hooked!

Hi Char-hows the weather there in Canada??? Bet your trip in January was a blast!!! Did you go to WDW too? Which areas did they like best?? Trying to figure out what 2 areas of WDW to go to, any suggestions anyone?? We're going on our big Disney family cruise this October.

I believe DIStag is the same as the FE exchange. What we did on our three other cruises was all participants got a list of folks/cabins who wanted to play. We found our name on the list and "tagged" the person directly below us on the list with a gift hung on their fish hook next to the cabin door. Once our own cabin got "tagged" we would go and tag the person who was second below our name.....etc. The game was done when we tagged all those on the list.

If 30 cabins played you went home with 29 gifts from others.

We had lots of fun but as other's have said, it got to be too much to take home because of the luggage restrictions.

Ooo... love secret pal idea! Count us in! We weren't going to do the FE this time around because of extra luggage. I was a bit disappointed because we had so much fun with it. We flew Southwest so luggage was free but it was a huge inconvenience hauling 5 kids and extra luggage though the airport.

Hey Sherry, the weather here is very erratic! Last week we had temps that were a few degrees warmer than Fl that day and the next we had snow! We can't complain though we hardly had any snow this winter. (although my oldest would NOT agree, not a good year for snowboarding) Yes our tip in January was awesome... but cold! It was snowing in Orlando the day we left. Key West we had to wear our winter coats too. It did get warmer but never warm enough for me to get in the pools. Despite the weather it was still the best trip ever! We stayed in Pop Century for our pre-night stay but did not do the parks. We went the previous year and until the cruise DW was our favourite vacation destination. Every time we've gone to DW our favourite park changed. Depends on what your family is into... one of my favourites last time was Hollywood Studios, it has a bit of everything. LOVE Tower of Terror and Rock'n Rollercoaster and the shows are awesome, Beauty and the Beast, Lights Motor Action ect. It would definitely be a hard choice but no matter what your going to have a blast!

I'm so glad to hear that others are interested in some sort of an FE too! I love the "SCP" idea. I don't know which one we want to do, if we even end up having both. I like the idea of the kids getting something small every night too. I'll have to talk to them and decide. I will send a pm for our family when ever we decide. Just so I understand this correctly, if we chose to do the "SCP" we will exchange 1 gift with 1 other cabin and spend a total of $20 (is that per person or cabin). I think if we do the "SCP" we should try to match up cabins evenly, meaning..... if you have kids then you should exchange with another cabin who has kids. That way the couples won't be putting out so much for a cabin with kids and the cabins with kids will have a better idea of what to get the other cabin with kids (since they have kids too). Just an idea, you all will have to give some feedback on that. I just think it might be more fair that way. I also think it is a great idea to compile a like and dislike list along with allergies, that will make it more personable and more appreciated! Can't remember who suggested that one, sorry, but kudos! So many wonderful ideas everyone has.

It doesn't necessarily have to be 1 gift, if you want to do 5-7 small gifts you can do that too. I think the $20 is the minimum to spend, knowing someone like me I will spend a little more.
I think the SCP will be the formal exchange, if you want to do gifts on your own I will make up a list of who's who in which cabin and you are more than welcome to give out little gifts to them. I'm sure there will be some of us doing both.

spent the day at University Hosp yesterday. didnt get home till 10:30 pm

saw Neuorologists in search of answers to my lingering problems following heart surgery. ran a few test. now we wait a few more weeks for results. his feeling was possible slight stroke during surgery or b12 deficiency that sometimes occurs during surgery.
