10-21-12 Dream!!!

Yes it's a VERY special place for us now! So how bout you? Think you'll renew your vows for your 35th?

no i don't think we'll both be at WDW next year...i might be there on my own (same as this year), but not both of us...
as it happens, i signed up for the disboards oasis of the seas cruise for next august.....so i'll be at WDW for our 35th anniversary...but DH can't take as much time off as i can...

Ahhhh that's a bummer...I know what you mean about Dh's time off...he gets 28 days a year...which sounds like a lot....but when you have to travel back to the states to see family...it really eats up vacation time.

Dh and I went on the week oasis cruise last fall. Great ship....they'll be times you'll forget you're on a ship....in the central park area...it really looks like your in a city park with lil shops and cafes. But it's soooo crowded...that they offer limited availability for tradition dinning...where you dine with the same people every night (dh and I like that) so they force you into doing "my time dining" which they like to advertise as a PERK for their cruiseline...but really it just means having to line up...put your name on a list and wait to be called to dinner...like at a olive garden....NOT what you want to do on a cruise!!!! So hopefully you can book the regular dinning option...but do try the speciality restaurants....they were ALL really good!!! Best red velvet cake i've had at Chop's Grille!

since it's a disboard cruise together with the podcasters, my time dining might actually be a good thing - being able to switch around and have dinner with different people on different nights...
there will probably be about 400 disers on the cruise, so that's a lot of people to choose from...
i've met some of them already - when i was at WDW on my own 2 years ago, i attended two dismeets...and then last year when i was with the whole family, i organized a dismeet.....it was so much fun meeting other disneyholic nutcases like us....we ended up hanging out at the parks together after the meets...really fun!!
and the odd thing, though i'd never met any of these people before, i felt as if i'd known them my whole life and felt perfectly comfortable with them...
spending an evening together at MK and an entire day at Epcot with them...
so i'm sure it will be lots of fun on the Oasis of the Seas!!!

so here's DD's ship right now - she's on board waiting for sailaway in an hour and a half from now..

this webcam screenshot is of Radiance of the Seas at 6 PM in seward alaska (where sundown is at midnight, since it's the summer :) )

DD's ship sailing away a few minutes ago....(at 8 pm local time to be exact)..

the ship backed out, so the front came into view - and then the webcam didn't refresh for 5 minutes and by that time the ship was completely out of view

Yeah in your case sounds like my time dining may be perfect.
I know what you mean about fellow disneyaholics...i'm new to disboards...but not a NEW disney fan!

Ok folks, this newbie needs help. What is your preferred dining rotation? I requested ERAA. I'm traveling with 3 young kids, and I thought they'd prefer AP, which is why I requested it twice.

If you have a minute, let me know which rotation is your favorite.

Thanks,
Tricia

This is my favorite as well. It puts you in the fanciest dining room for formal night and ends your cruise with the cool experience of talking with Crush.

Yeah! You're back!

We (by luck) got ERAA our first cruise. I've requested it again, as I feel Animator's Palate is the best place for pirate night, and then you get to do it again with Crush.

Back home for a few days yes. See I have a bit of catching up to do including some welcomes and roll call/FE list updates. I am away again for a week from Saturday so will try to have a good look at it it today and tomorrow. Once I am back from the UK on the 11th, then I can focus on the countdown to this cruise and will really help push the excitement with you all.

i've requested starting with animator - i thought that my mom and sister should have the big bang disney experience on the first night, but i'm not sure....i'm worried it will put too many kids with us in our rotation..
maybe i should tell them to put us in the fewest kids rotation...

I didn't know you could request a rotation!

Interesting point. That would be a smart idea for them to make at least one rotation primarily adult.

Another question: I got my 2 bedroom savannah view for the night before our cruise at jambo AK, but I haven't yet called MS to make any room requests. Arushka, close to lobby is what I'm thinking. Any other ideas?
