i'm bumping Christopher's list again!! i added in Birdie23's info :)

gotta run out to a concert - i'll post more later!

No we're not having the Carriage or any Characters even though i would love both the prices for them are insane and the time is very short for both. that it doesnt make sense to pay all that for the short length of time. Yes we are having a reception after the wedding at the boardwalk. Nothing is really a secret except from my family haha.Ill probably post some Pictures after the cruise. haha

I cant imagine having a wedding with only 10 people either. WOW 400 hundred and 500 people i can imagine that. haha yeah gotta love Israel weddings. Im sure id probably have 200-300 people at mine if it wasnt in florida i had to cut the list down ALOT so if i was having it here in PA we'd be inviting alot more family and friends so im sure alot more of them would come. haha yeah 132 people is kinda small but its all good. size doesnt always matter. its more about the people that are there being there to support you guys and want to see you get married.

How do you go from Detroit to Israel? Ive always wanted to go to Israel.

i'm originally from detroit - moved to israel years and years ago with DH, who's originally from washington DC...
we live in a lovely town about 10 minutes from the mediterranean and about 15 minutes from Tel Aviv...DD and DS grew up here (they were 5 and 3 when we moved here - DD is married to an Israeli, DS to a Chilean)...

about 20% of the people in the town we live in are originally from english speaking countries (US, Canada, UK, Australia, South Africa, etc.) - that's about 20,000 native english speakers just in our little town.....and in addition to all those english speakers, there are many immigrants from France, Russia, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, Mexico, Turkey and everywhere else on the planet.... you stand in line at the post office and hear a zillion different languages being spoken.....quite entertaining really...and of course a few Israelis :)

if you visit israel, it's probably best to come on a tour - there's so much to see and do, it's really much easier on an organized tour....it's a very fun place to visit, whether you're interested in the religious sights, history or just fun things like kayaking on the jordan river (a family favorite of ours)....
or scuba diving with dolphins in eilat on the red sea (another family favorite)....or hiking in the dessert (yet another family favorite :)....actually hiking anywhere in Israel is a passion of ours)..

anyway, it's a fun trip and i've never heard anyone who didn't enjoy it immensely.....you just have to find the trip that's geared to your interests.....
either a group tour or your own trip where you hire a private guide....
so ends the advertisement...;)

Wow! thats very cool. it definitely all sounds entertainment waiting in line and all the different cultures that are there.

Thanks for the advertisment haha Ive been looking into Going with birthright so it would be free. i was suppose to go years ago but stuff came up and i couldnt make it  my "brother" lived there for a year after high school. My aunt and uncle go alot and my cousin actually met his wife years ago when he did birthright.

Wow all that sounds like a blast with the hiking and kayaking in the jordan. i cant wait to go and be able to do all that.

Just did my final Payment. :cool1: And printed out the signature page. All is done now. Just needing some magnets for the cabin door to make it all pretty. haha

Hello all,

This is my first time joining a roll call on disboards...but not a first time cruiser...My husband and I are taking our 5 yr old DS on this cruise. Leaving the younger 2 yr DS with the grandparents.

I would love to join the fish extender....this is the first time I've ever heard of something like this...feeling a little out of the loop as I thought I was up on disney culture...LOL...guess not...but I would love to join the group.

I spent all morning reading all the previous post so I already know a little about you all!

My hubby and I are originally central Florida Residents...we were raised in Merritt Island (in fact we can see the disney ships from my parents house) We currently live in Shenzhen, China. We're here for my husband's job (corporate pilot)

We come home to visit for 2 months every year!

That's the story on me...looking forward to chatting with you all!

Sarah :woohoo:

I think that Christopher is organizing the Fish Extenders.

Thank you Beth. Since i'm a new disser I"m not able to send PM or emails yet.....weird I think...I guess I have to make 10 posts before I can....LOL...I imagine I will be able to do that shortly! But until then I hope he will see these posts and add me.

Welcome, Sarah! My youngest son will turn 5 in January, so I think we've got a match!

We've never cruised before, and I'm really looking forward to the FE exchange, too.

Boarding today at 9:15!!!

(But I'm just going to Nantucket for the day!)

The forecast is for afternoon thunderstorms, so I'm a bit anxious about the trip home. For some reason, the people I'm going with want to take the traditional ferry, which takes 2 hours, instead of the high- speed, which only takes 1. Hmmm... We do have a 1 1/2 hour ride to the harbor, so maybe I'll try to convince them.

That's great. My son Parker will love to meet your son!

Your first cruise huh? Welllll you picked the right cruiseline with Disney! You WILL NOT be disappointed...of course you've set the bar high now...so you may not want to bother with the cheaper discount cruises...ie carnival!

I would love to see Nantucket and the new england area one day! I'll add it to my travel list....which is ppppppretty long.

how long have you been living in Shenzhen? I've never been there, though i've been to hong kong several times (one of my favorite places).
i hear that Shenzhen is rather amazing.
a good friend of mine has just moved to Suzhou from Shanghai.
Her husband works for a big manufacturing company about 2 hours from shanghai and one hour from Suzhou - which is why they've moved -so that he doesn't have that long a commute each day, even though he has a driver to do the driving, it just takes too much time to go back and forth.
(this is his second overseas job since taking early retirement from GM (i.e. he was downsized, AKA fired) - they first were in india for 3 years and hated every second of it. China's a vast improvement over india for them!!)

Oh wow is she doing an Adventure by Disney?

Sarah

no, she and her husband are touring around on their own and then taking a southbound cruise.
No need for ABD, when you have DD around. She has it in her blood.
When she was 22 years old she spent a month touring around Vietnam on her own. then another month in Thailand, then 3 weeks in hong kong, then a month in Japan. She definitely doesn't need ABD.
