I was bored tonight and started messing around with FE stuff!

I guess I need to let my mom know that we need a Fish Extender. She does all the sewing (mostly because she says it is quicker to do it herself then fix the monumental mess I make when I try and do it).

Mine is going to have to be one of the non-fancy ones: maybe duct tape? That sounds fun! Although I imagine that once I start it, I'll be cursing the stuff!

well i think i could probably out-do you in non-fancy ....i am THE most uncreative person on the planet...
good thing i'm not participating in FE!!!

in any case, we'll be in concierge which i think is somewhat difficult to get to because of the gate....
so best to just observe the fun from the sidelines

2nd bit of good news, we rebooked our cruise to June 6, 2012 on the Dream and possible land excursion to be added AND we are taking our kiddos this time too!!!

Duct tape gives me nightmares!!! I can't do anything with duct tape if the kids are in the room or their vocabulary would be unfortunately expanded!

Yahoo! Our waitlist for BCV for three nights following the cruise came through today! So excited to have stormalong bay for the kids!

Now, I'm trying to decide whether to keep BCV for the night before the cruise. I'm thinking about wait listing at AKL. We arrive at MCO at 11:40 on Saturday, so I'm thinking we'll be at the resort by 1. If we stay at BCV, we'll just go to the pool all day, and go to dinner at either flying fish, Tutto Italia or biergarten. The next morning, we'll use the quiet pool before pick-up. If a second Fantasmic is added, we might consider going.

If we stay at one of the AKLs, we might try to go to AK for the afternoon, then dinner at Boma, (or yak & yeti - but we've already been there) then after dinner at the pool. Next a.m., pool until pick-up for the cruise. (10:30)

We probably won't try AKL otherwise, as we prefer transportation options at BLT and Epcot area resorts for regular stays.

What do you recommend?

tough one - have you asked the kids what they prefer?

since you'll be at BCV after the cruise, i guess you could go to AKL before the cruise for variety...
but i think if i were to ask my kids, they would say BCV for stormalong....you can't get too much stormalong bay..
on the other hand, my kids love AK, so they would be happy to go there for a few hours too.....we love yak & yeti, so we would probably opt for that, though we also like boma..

That's actually what I'm leaning towards. Now, jambo or kidani? I have to put a waitlist in for either.

This is my home resort so i am biased and say definitely waitlist AKL

What size room are you going to wait list. I like the Kidani side for a 1 bedroom villa better than Jambo. Better Master bath and better kitchen. Sanaa is awesome too. Water play area is really cool for kids. Quite a bit of a walk from lobby to some rooms if you are not parking in garage under the rooms.

Jambo is better if you just want quick service for the evening since it is closer. The pool is bigger here.

If you are taking the DCL bus your meeting location is Jambo even if you are staying at Kidani. But they will pick up your bags from the room and it is a short walk over to Jambo from Kidani Lobby or you can even take the resort bus.

In April I stayed at Kidani, enjoyed the quieter pool area, had my bags packed when I went to bed so that they were picked up by the bell services and then took the leisurely stroll over to Jambo for a Boma buffet breakfast before meeting in the Sunset Overlook to get the bus.

But I think that the biggest thing to consider is that there are more villas at Kidani than there are at Jambo which means more chances for an opening to occur and your wait list being fulfilled.

Just looked and Kidani has 1BR Villas for 20 October in either Standard or Savannah View showing on the online reservation tool. You would not need to wait list that......but maybe you are only seeking a Studio

We need a 2 bedroom. Kidani is available right now, but I chose to waitlist Jambo. When I get home I think I'll book Kidani and wl Jambo. I chose Jambo because of the grandeur of the lobby. That sounds like a dumb reason, huh? Plus breakfast at boma. We shall see...

I am really excited to have switched to AKL. Thanks for your recommendations!

i prefer jambo - but i would definitely take a bird in the hand and waitlist for jambo

oh and no, lobby grandeur is not a bad reason to pick it...that's probably why i like it better too!!

Nope i dont book any excursions/dinners/spa treatments. However, since im platinum i get the free mean at palo's so ill probably go with the brunch. even though i dont like palo's.... Thats good that you booked a cabana they go fast. . well 2 days before the cruise we're getting married on the 19th in disney.
