Arrived at Logan at 5:30am for 7:30am flight... curbside check-in available on American Airlines. Security was very visible throughout the airport. Great flight, arrived on time and picked up rental car from Alamo.
We drove to Wyndham Palace and I must say, I was very disappointed with this resort. Granted I bid $49 via Priceline (add $8. resort fee and $10. valet fee, so the total was $67). There is no way I would stay at this resort if it were any more than $70. But, since the Wyndham states it is a "resort" hotel, I was disappointed how run-down this place seemed to be. The rooms were average size and we did have a small balcony that allowed us a view of DD and fireworks. We had joined Wyndham by Request and received a little welcome gift of cheese and crackers. This was a nice surprise.
The valet service at the Wyndham was great! And we did use the shuttle to MK on the first day. Shuttle service was average for Disney.
We arrived at MK around 2pm and grabbed lunch at Pecos Bills. I would recommend this place for their burgers and chicken wrap. Food was very good and plentiful. Not to mention the fantastic toppings bar!
MK was CROWDED!!! It was a Friday afternoon and I was amazed at the crowds. I have no idea how they can cut back the park hours with the attendance so high! Some waits were over 45 minutes (Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain). But, despite the crowds we had a great time! The weather was about 85 and we had a few rain showers.
The boys were tired after such a long day, so we returned to the hotel around 7pm. So much for my plans to stay until close (10pm). We had room service (just okay) and went to bed. Tomorrow... Downtown Disney and Kennedy Space Center.
