10/15/2011 - Taking the West by Magic!

Thanks for the information...Ok... count us in on the FE.. I think the kids will love it and I'm already thinking of ideas..

We've not done our reservations yet since we can't book anything until Aug 1st (newbies and all that). We plan on booking our excursions outside of Disney and are thinking snuba on Key West and the StingRay City for Grand Cayman. I think we'll stay on ship at Cozumel. For Palo I think we'll do the brunch..

I've got you added, funny, I just noticed by updating the list that you and one of joyjanet's cabins both have boys that are 13 and 10! (I'm going to have to warn you guys to keep those boys away from my daughter! :lmao:)

Oh, and YAY we're on page 21!!!!!

I can totally understand the luggage issue and I'm not flying overseas for this trip! Glad to see you're still on board with us though, Jillian is looking at the list and figuring that your daughters are pretty close to her age :rotfl:

Are you planning on a meet on the ship as it would be great for the kids to get together before the clubs start  Cerys turns 9 during our first cruise but with having older sisters she's got an older head on her ;)

I'm so glad you mentioned that, I meant to post it last night, and then got caught up playing Bejewelled Blitz on Facebook, biggest timesuck ever, even though the games only last 1 minute!

So, does everyone want to meet up on board the afternoon of the first day? We've done like 3:00 before the safety drill and sail away party before, but enough time for everyone to be on board and get lunch. So, any suggestions? There's Preludes, Deck 10, even Deck 7 in the secret deck? Rockin Bar D, Sessions? Anyone?

We're good for a 3pm meet up - we've got some first time cruisers so maybe the deck 7 aft area might not be ideal (don't wanna lose anyone lol)

I will tell the parents of the 2 boys to keep them away from your daughter but once in the kids club they have no control what goes on!! By the way, I spelled Ty's name wrong. It has an e at the end. My DH wanted me to correct this. Thanks for putting this together.

I fixed it. Hmm, maybe I'll just tell Jillian that she'd better stay away from the boys! Then I'll get the "Mommyyyyyyy geeeeezzzzzz!":rotfl:

Well as a mother of two boys (13) and (10)... I don't think you'll have to worry too much.. I think my 13 year old is still in that I sort of do, but sort of don't (kinda of shy) around girls.. He's a little nerdy.. and my 10 year old (although will be a big issue when he's older as he's going to be a looker) doesn't like girls yet. It's been the other way around with him.. Have to beat the girls off him..

We are in for a three o'clock meet, but we will leave the choice to the veterans since we have never been aboard.

We're in for the 3pm too! I think deck 7 aft is a good idea to meet and maybe in or near the movie theater :happytv:, we can show everyone on a map where the meet site is once we all decide.

20 pages - look at us, it's like we're almost all grown up lol

seriously, in all of our excitement I forgot to tell you all our plans! typically when we cruise we opt for cheap options and tend to skip the spa and expensive excursions - well, given that this is the honeymoon cruise we are going all out....
At Key West we plan to snuba - as neither of us are scuba certified to scuba for real we thought this would be an interesting adventure.
Since we've so been looking forward to this, we've booked a couples massage at the spa for our first at sea day - we may even book more once on board, we'll see.
at Grand Cayman we are headed for the dolphin extreme swim and turtle farm - we thought about doing a day at Discovery Cove sometime before or after the cruise but decided to go with this excursion anyway (and maybe we'll still do a Discovery Cove day later on - maybe for an anniversary lol)
Cozumel is taking us on speed boats and a beach break - yay for beaches lol
for the 2nd at sea day we've scheduled ourselves a Palo brunch - I am a notoriously picky eater so we've never done Palo before and are looking forward to it
Finally at cast away we usually just chill out at serenity but we thought the sting ray adventure might be fun.

oh also we always go to dinner (we have the late dinner) and the show - so now that you'll know where we will be, maybe we'll see some of our awesome DISers :)

but sadly now its time to go do some :laundy: maybe I'll work on FEs instead, laundry can wait lol

GOOD FOR YOU!!! You must tell us how the snuba goes. I vote for the FE's too :santa:

So how about we go with Deck 7 aft at 3:00, and if it's closed, then we'll meet in Sessions (Deck 3 past Rockin' Bar D). Just as a backup plan...?

A few more questions if I may.. ;)

1)-We're looking at the old March Navigator and we're curious about the Formal dinner night. It says "Prince and Princess" so is that just the name of the formal dinner or are we supposed to dress the kids accordingly? And it states the reception is at 10:45 p.m.?! We have an early dinner time due to the kiddos, so I'm wondering if we'd even get the chance to make it to the late party. Is it worth going to or making the kids stay up for? They're 5 & 2 yrs old..?

2) I heard someone somewhere on the board mention that the Kid's club staff will come get your child from dinner when they are done. Is this true and do you know if they do the same for Flounder's?

3) Pirate night- The Navigator shows a Pirate Dance party in the evening followed by the big party at 9:45. Is the dance party something to go to or would we be good to just have our dinner, and head to the party at 9:45?

4) Is there still a kid's club graduation or is it just their presentation? It sounds wonderful!

5) Is there some sort of send off party on the last night of sailing? We didn't see anything in the navigator.

Thanks all for helping! Trying to get my last few ducks in a row before Monday when we FINALLY get to make our reservations! :cool1:

Haha, I get sucked in by that game, too! I tell myself I'll play one game really fast, and ten minutes later, I'm going, "I need to get off facebook!":rotfl:

DF and I are up for meeting at 3 o'clock. But, just a forewarning, I am terrible with directions, so I will probably get lost finding Deck 7 aft. :rotfl: If you see someone wondering around aimlessly Sunday morning, going, "It's around here somewhere!" You'll know that we didn't ditch the meet, just couldn't find it. :lmao:

The name of the menu that night is Prince and Princess, you are welcome to dress the kiddos in outfits, but they don't need to be. As for the Captain's reception, it's really more of a cocktail reception, you can put them in the club/Flounder's, but we've never really thought it was that big of a deal.

2) I heard someone somewhere on the board mention that the Kid's club staff will come get your child from dinner when they are done. Is this true and do you know if they do the same for Flounder's?
This is only for late dining, and wouldn't apply to Flounder's.

3) Pirate night- The Navigator shows a Pirate Dance party in the evening followed by the big party at 9:45. Is the dance party something to go to or would we be good to just have our dinner, and head to the party at 9:45?
Whichever you like. The dance party is a chance for the kiddos to hang out and dance with the cruise staff, then there's the Pirate party with Fireworks and the buffet after, then they show POTC on the Ariel view TV.

4) Is there still a kid's club graduation or is it just their presentation? It sounds wonderful!
It's a presentation. They show a slideshow of pictures of the kids doing activities in the club and I think the kids sing a song. It's cute, on our very first cruise they gave the kids mortarboard hats with Mickey ears, but they don't do that anymore, they get t-shirts now.

5) Is there some sort of send off party on the last night of sailing? We didn't see anything in the navigator.
The have a show called "Until we meet again" then do a parade with all of the characters in the atrium. There's also a show in Rockin' Bar D for the adults.

We just made out last payment which tells me it's REALLY getting close!

You wont get lost, your Alex is your GPS. We'll get the blank maps from Onkel Hans and show you which direction and give you a couple of stateroom numbers to look for.

Tomorrow Sunday night at midnight EASTERN you should be able to start making your reservations. Try logging on a few minutes before hand so your on the right page. I had to hit enter a few times until the reservations tabs popped up at 12:03am
