DISmeet #4?

Hmm, that is an interesting proposition! I'm up for it, what does everyone say, get together say before dinner and the early show for a group picture in the lobby? According to the Navigators, formal night is our Monday at sea, early dinner (and the early show) start at about 6:00, so maybe 5:30?

Sounds like a pretty good idea

Easy to do, you got it!

Now to see if I can squeeze my much bigger behind into the dress I bought for my last cruise, or if I'll be going naked!:lmao:

Yep. I have the same problem. I'm just thankful formal night is near the beginning of the cruise and not near the end when I'll be 5 pounds heavier!

If I can convince Alex to put on his uniform that early, we'll be there. He hates wearing his uniform when he doesn't have to, so I'll have a fight on my hands getting him to put it on three hours before dinner. :rotfl:
Question, are we going to get someone to take the pictures, or are we all going to bring cameras and each get our own?

I know how that goes. The dress I was planning to wear up until 2 days ago is now too small for me. (Teach me not check the outfit before I just assume it works.) I'm now doing some major hunting around for a quick replacement.

They have "Lifestyle" photographers in the lobby pretty much every night with different backgrounds to take pictures. We can also ask a CM to take pictures with personal cameras if they aren't set up yet.

Oh, and tell Alex that I think mess dress looks fantastic, I remember my dad wearing it to functions, and my mom wearing dresses that had shoes dyed to match, all very formal and lovely! (Dad retired long before Alex was even in the service so he won't know him...)

I'll add the meet to the first post!

Sounds good, count us in...I just hope I remember. :goodvibes

Is anyone going on the Dolphin Extreme Swim at Grand Cayman? It was full; so I checked with the Dolphin Discovery and they got us in at the 1:00 , but we will have to get there on our own) taxi. I just wasn't sure how far it was from the boat and how much money to allow for the taxi.

Also, how much do you usually tip everyone and as in everyone...who is everyone???

Thanks for your help.

Renee princess:

For the cruise, you have 4 tipped positions, the head server, your server, assistant server and stateroom attendant. This tip is I believe $12 per person in your party per day broken up between them. I'll check my cruise booklet for the amout per position for the whole cruise, it's in there.

Some people like to bring treats for the CM in the clubs, or just to hand out, I never have but with the abundance of Halloween candy, and the fact that we'll be out there a week ahead of time, I may buy a bag and hand them out this cruise.

On your excursions, it's usual to tip your guide if you have one. This would be someone who is telling you about where you are, it's history, why it's cool, etc., not just a guy who drives a bus. We tipped maybe $20 for our family of four in the past for a whole day excursion YMMV.

For you dolphin trip, you'll want to tip your cab driver, and possibly your encounter leader. I'd take around $100 with you to pay for cabs and tips over and above your excursion cost. You may not need that much, I don't know what it'll cost to get there by cab, but I'm always better safe that sorry!

If our group ends up being very large for this we can utilize the staircase outside of Triton's like the DIS group from 2005 did.

It is through Island Marketing LTD. They offer other excursions as well.

Thanks for the link. I think I'm going to book the same excursion. We were going to go with Moby Dick Tours, but this sounds like more fun than taking a catamaran with 50 people on it & we still go to Stingray City.
