No problem,
can you post the name of the band and of the song again, so that I can do a search for it?

BTW, I was only boasting a bit and pulling Rosy's leg: We retired our VCR just about three weeks ago when we replaced iot by a Sony Harddisk/DVD-Recorder. Additionally my laptop has a receiving unit for digital terrestrial TV, which I record to harddisk and then after removing the commercials burn to DVD.
I dumped about 300 VHS tape with TV-recording during the last weeks and this week I will donate about 200 original movies to Oxfam, who will sell them and use the proceedings for development projects in Africa.

Eric our Computer does the Recording Now !!
Tracy and Bill sent Me a program to do this .. it also turns our 19" lcd sony monitor into a Tv. So there is no need to have a Tv and a Computer in the same Room.. Even has a remote..
u will See. lol

Peter

If you use the computer as a TV, how do you use the computer as a computer at the same time? :confused3

Umm, Rosemary, I don't think you can use both at the same time. But I could be wrong. :confused3
Just wanted to wish everyone a happy week. I've got so much to do, and I can't seem to get started on any of it. Moving our office, moving my home. I'm hoping the the "U-Haul Faries" will show up and do all the work. How's that for denial.
Had Mark's sister over for a birthday dinner tonight. She is such a nice person. And a very good Aunt to my kids. I even cooked. :teeth:
Saw PR&R last year at EPCOT. Watch 2 of the 3 shows. There were great!
Michelle, Sorry that Daisy is not feeling well. Hopefully she will recover soon.
I read something intersting about the Quality Inn near CC. Since they are owned by the same company as the Radisson, anyone who stays there, can use the Park and Shuttle at the Radisson as if they were staying at the Radisson. Something to think about.
Got the get to bed. Reading a new book, State of Fear by Michael Crichton.
Later, Avé

Lost this post in the middle of it -- hope it doesn't show up so I'm not repeating myself.

Nancy -- You really got a deal on your airfare. We never get any deals here in Charlotte due to the almost US Air monopoly. They have a Florida Fares special running, but not from Charlotte as usual. I think you will like SSR. We had a beautiful room and great view, and I'm glad that we stayed there, but somehow it just lacked atmosphere to us. Once the building is complete, I think it will be a different story.

Rosemary -- I know that when you look at jeanniec, it would be almost impossible to pronouce unless you know that it is really Jeannie C. Actually, I go by Jean most of the time but I couldn't get JeanC when I registered on the DIS boards, so I tried my other nickname (family mostly). In fact, it took me a while to realize that JeanneG was not jeanneg, even tho we were doing the same thing with our names.

Put my mom's house on the market Tuesday, and we already have a contract on it which looks very firm with a closing date of 8/31 so I have to get busy having a moving sale and clearing out dressers and closets. That will be a little difficult since I will be watching my DGS the next two weeks until school starts again. Mom has Alzheimer's and has been in assisted living for over 2 years so it was definitely time to sell since she won't ever be going home even tho that's all she talks about. Also need some money since it costs at least $60,000 a year to keep her where she is residing -- a Sunrise facility which is very beautiful and she gets great care in the Alzheimer's unit. The whole thing is very sad.

What a coincidence, Ave: I just finished State of Fear by M. Crichton on Friday. It's a great book, very thrilling and very interesting.

Pete,
that's exactly what I do with my laptop: I use it to watch/record TV. It also has a remote, which can even be used to control PC-functions like calling up programs.
And Rosemary:You can minimize the TV view and simultaneously watch TV and work or play on the computer. Or just use it as a VCR working in the background. If Richie can't show you the video, let me know.

OMG, Rosemary....this is TOO FUNNY! You take me down memory lane. I can't tell you what a big fan of PR&R I was when I was around 13 (nearly 40 years ago!) I thought only Nancy and I had that in common.......Now I really can't wait to meet you!

Sooo funny about PR & R. My cousin ( many years older) was in the original start-up of the band. He did some touring but I believe left after a year or so.

Bye, Kim

For the ultimate PR&R fix we can go on the Costa Mediterranea Cruise Ship 1/29/06-2/5/06 for the oldies cruise leaving from Fort Lauderdale. He along with other oldies but goodies will be cruising and performing.

Was he still with the band when they were appearing on "Where the Action Is"? That's my earliest recollection of the group.

I've always heard about that cruise and thought about doing it, but had no one to do it with. HINT, HINT.....Shall we go?

We just watched 'Mean Girls' starring Lindsey Lohan. That movie is sooooo funny :rotfl2:

I have just been to see War of the Worlds and still shaking my head. Not sure if some of the special effcts were supposed to be naff/bad but they sure were! Think I prefer the radio version which I listened to over and over as a kid - even made my older brother leave me his copy when he got married! Getting Hotel Rwanda tomorrow from my postal DVD place - looking forward to that.

Just out of curosity I checked the website for the oldies cruise. Here is the link. http://www.harmontravel.com/oldiescruise06/artists06.htm

Apparently you have to book through them to get the Oldies Entertainment Package which looks like it cost more than the regular cruise. I guess we have to pay for PR&R cruise. I always wondered how that works for those cruises.

Is that the Tom Cruise movie? After all his antics this summer, I had no desire to see that movie.

Nancy

Yes that's the one - and I agree about his antics - he is seriously weird.

So Jeanne did you hear me scream last night at the end of AR3. I can't believe that Ian and Teri are in the final 3 and the twins aren't. I do know who wins but the only team that I like who remains is the brothers. Final isn't on until Tues night and then AR4 starts on Wed. I haven't seen that one either. At least this gives me something to watch over the summer because otherwise TV is pretty bad over the summer. I try to save my reading for when I am doing cardio work outs at the gym (treadmill, ecliplical machine, bike). I know alot of people can't read while doing those, but I read hardback books and I have no problem.

Just finished Janet Evanovich "Eleven On Top." It is so funny. Ave if you want it I can mail it to you.

Nancy

Add me to the list of those think that Tom Cruise is both weird AND creepy. Heard that Steven Spielberg (director of War of the Worlds) was also very upset with him and thinks that Tom's actions were the reason War of the Worlds did not gross what they expected. Saw the movie and enjoyed it, tho. It was something that both Sam and I wanted to see which is unusual. He pretty much likes action/horror films and I am more into drama/comedy.

Nancy, LOVE Janet E. Mail away, I'll repay the postage when I sent it back.
Agree, Tom C. is a little too strange these days, maybe it's a phase.

Jeanniec, So sorry about your Mom. Terrible disease. Prayers to you and yours. :grouphug:

Got an e-mail from Washington DC sister the other day. I had asked her if since being placed on The National Security Council had she learn anything top secrete? :rotfl: She replied that she likes her new job, but that she's only been in the Oval Office once so far. ( I'm like ...oh, only once, then I'm not even impressed.) :rolleyes1

Michelle, How is the little poop maker doing? Is she feeling any better? :dog2:

Going to turn in. Sister Mary says HI to everyone.
Avé

Yes, Tom Cruise gives me the creeps, too. I got a lot of his movies, but won't buy nor see any future ones.

JeannieC, :grouphug: to you.
Alzheimer's is a disease which is tougher on family than on the patient :(
My Granny suffered from it too.

BTW, I won't be posting tonight as it's Gramps' night again: Anja does the lateshift so I will be watching a DVD with Gramps. Tonight it will be 'Heat' starring Robert deNiro and Val Kilmer.

Ave, thanks for asking about Daisy. She is getting better. She still goes out 2 times a night....last night was 11, 130, 5 and 730. Once school starts we will ALL have a better schedule! Steve will be attending the Rite Aid Trade show in New Orleans next weeked, so I plan on getting the boys on schedule for school, which starts next Friday, the 26th. This morning we woke up to a clean crate, so things are looking better! :dog: Oh, and FWIW, 100% pure pumpkin and yougurt do wonders for helping "firm things up" when the tummy is upset! Plus, she LOVES it!
