Eric, you could start your vacation with the 11 day cruise and then do the stuff you planned to do before the cruise after. We leave on Sunday, Sept 17 and return on Thursday Sept 28.

That would mean that Anja had to celebrate her BD on the plane to Germany. She had to do that after Cruisetoberfest I and I had the same 'pleasure' last year. Additionally I would cut our time at PCB and WDW. And finally: For us the cruise is the highlight of our vacation - and thus must be the last point on our itinerary.

It was interesting looking at this 11-day thing. The only island that I haven't been to is St. Kitts, and that would be a huge attraction for me. :)

Looks like you're stuck with us.

We'll send you a listing of concessions and compensations that we want in turn for keeping on here.

Jim.

I knew that we could trust in you ;)

Folks,
Edition #17 of our List is in your mailboxes - Check it out.

I knew that we could trust in you

Perhaps.

We're on paragraph 28, sub-section 12, item K3 on our Concessions and Compensations Listing already.

We're moving in to the 'Motors and Wheels' section which promises to be most enjoyable.

Jim.

Michele,
if you really find something during our cruise which was hidden during the 11-day-cruise all your drinks are on me :wave2:
Now you're surely asking yourself, why does this nice German make you that generous offer? Here's the solution: If you really find something on the MAGIC , which was hidden on the WONDER , you deserve lots of free drinks :rotfl2:

Eric, I was so upset about all of our friends leaving us, that it didn't even dawn on me that it would be a different ship! I can't beleive all these folks are leaving us! We too, can't pull the boys out of school for that long, so ya'll are stuck with us!

Neither had I the opportunity :rotfl:
But perhaps it fits you too:
Single And Hardworking Mom ;) which is definitely the tougher job-especially when done so good (Remember? I know your great kids!!)
Eric, you are so sweet! You know I love you, right? :grouphug:

I, too, am sorry to see all of our friends switching cruises. :sad2: :sad1: I can understand the longer cruise & the new islands being an attraction. Have a great a time!

I have to admit, I've thought about checking into the cruises the two weeks before ours. The school the kids are in now have a "fall intercession" in October. If we're still in this school district next year, this means that they'll be off for the first 2 weeks of October, and then I'll be pulling them out the week they get back. Oh well. The school will just have to deal with it.

With all the  news of everyone "jumping ship", I just had to come support my my Cruisetoberfest friends, by sharing my 100th post with you. :teeth: Since this is where I got addicted to these boards, I thought it only fitting :rotfl2:
Still hoping for a favorable schedule change,
Allen

Hello!

I just have to chime in here. I'm so sad that so many of our friends are bailing out on Cruisetoberfest! I do understand getting in those long vacations while the kids are little though. We're definitely hanging in here. For one thing, it's much easier for an 8th grader to miss 4 days instead of the 9 he'd miss with the longer September cruise.

Amy & Chris, Reneé & Lenny-- Dinner will just not be the same!

Bette & Kim-- Please reassure me.... you're staying, right!?! :Pinkbounc

Amy & Chris-- We'll take you up on your offer to meet at WDW if you can. We're flying in on the evening of Oct. 13 this year and leave on Monday afternoon, Oct. 17th. Staying at BCV, going to MNSSHP on Sunday night, the 16th. Drop me a line! It would be great to see you again!

Glad to see so many new people here. I'll try to get with the program and post.

Colleen

Welcome to all our new cruisers! So sorry to hear that some of the veteran Cruistoberfesters will not be joining us. Kim and Bette have been very quiet so far???

Ave' - Sounds as tho the house is moving along really quickly now -- that's great!

Even as our dinner table shrinks, we, too are staying put. We had so much fun last cruise and Chris is really looking forward to getting dive certified (is that how you say it?) for next year as Eric said Cozumel was a beautiful place to dive and we hope to join someone(s) who might want to dive there. He also is looking forward to two opportunites to try to get on the jet ski tour (which I can't find on the site any more:confused: ). So as long as nothing major happens between now and then - Cruisetoberfest IV, here we come! Have a good weekend, Denise:paw:

We, too, plan to stay on Cruisetoberfest IV. Just for fun, I checked the DCL website to see how much more it would cost us to take the 11-day cruise on 9/17 -- "only" about $3200 more for 4 more days for our usual Category 6! We rebooked on the 10/14 cruise because of the great time we had with our fellow DIS cruisers. I think we could do a 10 or 11 day southern carribean for much less than DCL is charging if we really wanted to see those ports (which would be great), but the friendship of our fellow cruisers is more important to us. Hope we don't lose too many more people, but we wish all of those who are making the change a wonderful time (and how could it not be wonderful on a Disney cruise?)!

jeanniec - Chris wanted to make sure your cabin number was correct on the list. He says he wants to get prepared in case that "silly door magnet mover" is on board again:rotfl2:

"only" about $3200 more for 4 more days for our usual

These kind of numbers put us on guard about the whole thing. Our cost would basically double to stay in the same cat for an additional four days... granted we only have a cat 9, but it adds another $2000USD to the bottom line, not to mention an additional 20% to convert the US dollar to the Canadian dollar.

While the $$$ was a consideration, we also wanted to go to The World after the cruise, and September is not a really flexible month for either one of us because of other personal and business committments.

We also wanted to:

1) watch and see if Denise was going to turn green on the first night out;
2) see if Don could do the surf and turf again, not to mention to see if he had any additional Disney tatoos;
3) see Bette para-sail, right after lunch, and try to determine whether or not she still had said lunch after para-sailing.
4) really get a close up look at Anja's tummy tatoo (this time I'm gonna be a bit less discrete about it);
5) Marianne's and Andy's karaoke (minus that drunk lady).
6) sit on deck four with a couple of bags of Oreos watching The Germs exercise, while we give Michelle detailed instructions on how to accomplish the Canadian Sloth Move.
7) actually see if other Cruisetoberfesters use the adult swimming pool.
8) eat lunch again with Rosemary and Rich on Castaway Cay.
9) perform a tie-ectomy on anyone who gives me a tie.
10) sell any leftover lanyards, with proceeds going to the deposit for Cruisetoberfest V.
11) go to as many movies as possible that at least one of us will cry through and have Kim hand her kleenex.

Not a Class "A" list of things to do, but what are friends for?

Jim.

Hi Guys,

Kim Here... a little birdie told me you guys were looking for us. What can I say about the 11 night cruise, a chance to visit a couple islands we have never been to before...

After many phone calls with parties involved with us we have decided that we are going to STAY WITH ALL YOU GUYS !!.

Mom & I will also be bringing a dear friend and her 10 yr old son with us for their 1st ever cruise. As much as we wanted to go on the 11 day cruise, we feel that staying put with our 10/14 Diser friends is as important.

Love Kim & Bette

Yeah! Bette and Kim are staying!:goodvibes And NO, I will not be turning green!:rotfl2: I will start taking my Bonine a week prior if I have too! PS, did I forget to mention, I LOVE these new dog smilies!
:dog2: :pug: :paw: :dog: Take care, Denise (aka - a little green around the gills!)

To all of our friends that we have made during our cruises together Kathy and I want to say thanks for the memories. We have moved our reservation to the 11 day cruise on the wonder. It was not an easy decision to make, but we may not be able to cruise as much as we have in the past and this cruise was to islands that we have not seen before.

We will still lurk on this thread, as who knows, things may change in a years time. We have a little sadness as we will not be on the Cruisetoberfest IV, but a little excitement as we look forward to some new ports of call. We will always have a special bond to the ones that made the cruise just 11 days after 9-11-2001.

This is not good bye just a small fork in the road. We are still proud to call you all our friends.

Mike

Denise -- Yes, our cabin number is correct, and we have checked out your cabin number, too. We are almost in the same locations that we were last year. Wonder who is going make magnets now that Renee' is going on the 11-day cruise. I would, but since I am basically computer illiterate except for email and internet, I don't think that would work.

Kim and Bette -- So happy to hear that you are staying with our group. You made the last cruise so special for us!!

Mike and Kathy -- Sorry that you won't be joining us. Will miss all your posts on our Cruisetoberfest thread also.

Jim -- I guess I'll have to stop looking for a special tie for next year. I did think the red chili peppers on black was quite stunning; however, we don't want any tie-ectomies done on us, especially in the middle of a cruise. Glad to hear that you and Fiona are staying with the group.

We just returned from a Bar-B-Q and 'wanted' to check the thread for more bad news ;)

But we're also delighted to see that so many of you made clear that they will stay with the gang. For us it's more important with whom we sail than where we sail!!!

As there have more people to be removed from The List and as there are some mistakes on it I'll do another clean-up tomorrow. So if anyone else already has moved her/his ressie, but hasn't mentioned it either on The Boards or via mail, please let me know it ASAP (Although I hope that this was it all).

With the loss of Mike & Kathy we also lost our Keeper of the Cellphone-List. Anyone volunteering for that position? Please raise your hand :wave2: and then contact Mike to get the data.

If anyone of the 11-day-cruisers wants a blank list in Word-format to start working on your own list, let me know it and I provide you with one.

Chris,
we will definitely dive in Cozumel with the Twins and their families. And we're also thinking about the Jet-Ski thing. We're giving it a test run next time in Thailand (It's very affordable there) and if we like it we'll do it on one of the CC-days.

OK,
we're retiring now as it is nearly 2am over here. We won't cry ourselves into sleep, but we surely are very disappointed :(
