I started my new job today. I will be in training for 2 weeks, then I start on the 11pm to 7am shift!

Jean...I know what you mean about being tired and stressed.I will be SO happy once we close on this house and I can forget about termite letters, septic tanks checks, apraisals, surveys,home inspections, ect.ect.ect!!!It's been a VERY busy few months, but the end is in sight. We are set to close on this Friday.

Hi Guys,

I just got this email from a friend of mine and wanted to share it with everyone. I just tried it and found my parent's information so this is legit. Mine wasn't there since we have an unlisted number. This is pretty scary.

Google has implemented a new feature wherein you can type a telephone
number into the search bar and hit enter and you will be given the person's name and address. If you then hit MapQuest, you will get a map to the person's house. Everyone should be aware of this!

Note that you can have your phone number removed or blocked.

Before forwarding this, it was tested by typing a telephone number into google.com. The phone number came up, and there is a MapQuest link and Yahoo maps link that actually maps out directions to the residence. Quite scary. Test it if you like.

If a child gives out his/her phone number, someone can now look it up to find out where he/she lives. The safety issues are obvious and alarming.

In order to test whether your phone number is mapped, go to: http://www.google.com/ Type your phone number in the search bar (i.e., 555-555-1212) and hit enter. If you want to B L O C K Google from divulging your private information, simply click on your telephone number and then click on the Removal Form. Removal takes 48-hours. If you are unlisted in the phone book, your number may not be in there, but it is a good idea just to check. If your number does come up, if you hit map, it will show you a direct map to your house. Please share this information with your students, friends and family.

ok that's scary. Typed in my home number and it doesn't come up with a map but does come up with a link to a very old (1998) web page that lists my full name and telephone number - no address though.

Thanks, Tracy--I have logged out. The problem is that when I go back into the website, I'm automatically signed on as zapp1213. (I'm at work right now, which allows mdenn1213.) It doesn't give me anywhere to enter another username & password.

When I get home, I'll try deleting my cookies from my computer--I HATE doing that because then I have to log into every single website again.

But the main issue is that it needs to be cleared up, otherwise, Heidi can't log on as her DisName.

Instead of deleting all your cookies, why don't you just try to delete the ones for www.disboards.com? Also, if you have a browser that can remember your user id and password, that might be the problem too. I use Firefox and it always asks me if I want to save my user id and passwords. Netscape and IE both do this too. You might want to try deleting your user ids and passwords to see if this fixes it too.

If I type in my phone number, it doesn't list my address AND Mapquest is WAAAAAAY off on where we actually live! I guess I am not too concered about it, but if it had given more info, I would be worried!

I did this a few weeks ago and was amazed at how it came up with a map to my house. I immediately removed myself and I've gone back to check and it's been updated and my info is no longer there.

DW and I sat down on the Magic last week and sort of randomly ended up booking stateroom #7508 for 10/14/2006...I was just looking for lower fares than spring break or holidays, figured that even though, yes, October is hurricane season,historically most storms hit in August or September, and it is still warm in October, so we booked...little did I know we were signing up for Cruisetoberfest IV!!!

I figured I'd peruse the Cruise Meets to see IF there was a thread yet--what a laugh, right? Knew I'd stumbled into something beyond comprehension when I saw 169 pages and over 2500 posts...

So it will be myself, DW, by then mid 40's I guess instead of early 40's...DS will be 10, three months into 5th grade. It will be our 7th cruise overall, 5th DCL cruise, first Western on DCL. Since we got rained out of CC last Friday the double dip will make up for it, I suppose. All 5 DCL cruises have been/will be on Deck 7, but this will be first time Starboard, have always been Port Side in the past.

Really feel like a transfer student in the middle of the school year, everyone else has a long history together apparently and here we show up.

And hopefully by then the construction on I-75 will be wrapped up, along with the interchange from I-295 to I-95 south of Jax--the 500 mile drive took 10 hours getting home last Saturday--ugh!! For the Magic cruises we usually hit the road around 3, after school, and get as far as Jax before calling it a night, then we have a quick 2 hours and change left in the morning--got to the terminal 10:40 for embarkation on April 2nd.

So I take it that the DIS meet we just had with about 6 attendees might be dwarfed a bit by this crew? Or do they find it easier to put those who are on their first cruise in the Rockin D bar during the Castaway Club party and then just have the party all over the rest of the ship since most of the cruise looks like it will be repeaters, not just 25% like last week...

Some of us know each other from cruising before, but others are new. We are a very friendly group and it won't take long to get to know us. Eric (Viking) is the keeper of the list but is currently on vacation. At the end of his signature he has a link to send information that he uses to keep the list current.

Fiona--- Yes, I watched Amazing Race. I thought it would be a non elimination tonight. Maybe next week on the to be continued episode. I had read that the last night would be 5/10. I hope that is true as I would hate to be at WDW when the season ends as I might not be able to watch it. Go Rob and Amber.

Just want to brag that the Jays ARE IN FIRST PLACE!!!! (in the ALE) Yup, that's right we are ahead of the Yankees and BOSTON.
Awesome start to the season.

Am hoping the weather warms up a bit as we are headed to NH this weekend. At least this time we won't be driving through a snow storm on the way home!

Must go get ready for work - have a client coming in early.

Welcome Logan 1_2000 we are glad that you rebooked with the best group of folks on the dis boards. Eric the official list keeper is on vacation in Thailand and when he returns he will update the list and send it to you if you submit your information to the link in his signature.

The cars and streets along with everything else here is covered in pollen. Our red cars are a light yellow green along with the streets in the mornings.
