We're off to Saratoga Springs for the first time tomorrow. Hope we like it, altho I'm thinking that we may not. But we have to try all the new DVC resorts as they open. My best friend and her husband are coming up to visit for a couple of days (they are staying at All Star Sports) so I know we will have a great time with them.

Hope that everyone is doing well and are having a great weekend. Weather here is beautiful and the temps are warm. Watched the travel channel the other day when disney cruise line was profiled and that helped with the cruise withdrawals somewhat.

Hope that the camping is going well for Rich and Rosemary are enjoying themselves. Mike

What can ya do? :confused3
You can down the Schnaps and be grateful, Sis :teeth:

Hi Folks,

this is THAILAND calling  :wave2:
We're sitting in our hotel's Internet Cafe right now (0835pm) and it's cooling down over here: Temps dropped to 34°C/93°F :teeth: I want to go to Florida - to cool down :rotfl2:
Today we spent some quality time underwater, the first time ever to dive with other Germs - and a Swiss divemaster pirate:
Tomorrow it's basking in the unrelenting Thai-sun again and then shopping in a mall about 10 miles from our hotel.
You can have a nice 3-course Thai dinner here for 200 Bath/$5. A main course may cost as little as 40 Bath/1 Buck, as much as a bottle of the local beer, which is really good BTW. And they also sell it in 1 litre bottles for 80 Baht - A good way to say "Sugar, I only had ONE beer' :teeth:

Logan1: Welcome to our merry group, please send your info to the adress provided in my signature, I will do an update as soon as were back to Germany on 04/23/05.

To all friends old and new:
Sawasdee Krap from me and Sawasdee Kaa from Anja (This means Hello, Goodbye, Good Morning, Good Evening, etc in Thai, but has a different ending corresponding to the gender of the speaker)
And hugs & kisse, of course :wave2: :love1:
Will check the thread again within the next days, miss Y'All

Eric great to hear from you and Anja. Glad that you are enjoying your vacation. Please don't eat any chicken while you are there. You do not have any body fat to strain out the avian flu. Us fat people can store the flu virus in our built in storage rings around our tummies and then metabolize it until it is gone. :rotfl2:

Tragedy has today stuck the Worrell family. My wife and daughter were cleaning the living room and rearranging furniture. In the process of moving things our television died. :sad2: :scared1: It was only 11 years old and passed way before it's time. Guess that we will have to save our pennies now and get that hdtv we have been looking at. Nothing big, a 27 inch will do due to our small living room.

Did some trimming in the yard today and will have to mow tomorrow. Mike

PS I had to move the small 13 inch tv into the living room and place the little 5 inch color tv in the sewing room.

I actually made it to the end of the thread and have time to post before going to bed.... :cool1:

Eric and Anja, sounds like you are having a GREAT TIME!!!

Tulirose and Rich, Your new RV sounds really cool. We started camping with a pop up and have moved up to a travel trailer, but have not taken the plunge to a motorhome. That is my dream for when we retire. Hope you are have a great time on your camping trip this weekend. Have you done WDW? After camping there you are spoiled for other campgrounds. We have done it twice in our pop up and twice in our trailer. Camping in Florida in a pop up without AC in July is brutal.

Bette, sorry I missed you Birthday. HOPE IT WAS GREAT :cake: :thewave: :cake:

Hey everyone! I've been reading the thread a lot, but not posting often. I'll try to do better.

The weather here in central FL is beautiful. Our evenings have been cool in the 50s and during the day it gets close to 80. I know that's probably HOT for some of you right now, but it's nice to not have to have the air on this early in the year.

We're heading over to WDW for the day tomorrow. Chris needs a haircut, and just insists on getting it done at the Main Street Barbershop. So, we'll spend the morning at MK, so that Emily & Madison can ride some attractions in Fantasyland. Then, we're off to Epcot for the passholder & DVC preview of Soarin' that they are having this weekend.

We have a busy 2 weeks coming up. Chris and I realized that we've been together for 10 years on Tuesday. So, we're going out to dinner, and my mom is watching the girls. Then, Chris's birthday is Friday, and we're back to WDW. He always spends the day at MK on his bday. He likes to go since it's Earth Day too. Then, on the 28th, Madison will be turning 1. We're waiting to have her birthday party until May 7th, because my grandmother is coming down from Chicago to visit. I'm hoping to get pictures of 4 generations of women in my family.

Well, I better go. I'm going to bed early tonight so that I can be ready to see Mickey in the morning.

Hi Dave and Ellen:wave: It is good to hear from you. Enjoy your cruise with Jenn Peter and the rest of the gang through the Panama Canal.

Amy have fun at wdw and give everyone a hug from us. :grouphug: The kids are special at their ages and enjoy them while you can. They grow up so fast.

Talked to Art today and he said that the weather was beautiful there in Pa. Mike

Mike - sorry for your loss. ;) My sympathies to your family, I know it will be terrible to have to buy a new HDTV. :rotfl: Did you guys get an actual DIS meet date set up w/anyone else for DC? I know I would like to get down there, but am stuck with either late weeknights or weekends.

Leave tomorrow for training. 13 weeks away from home is exciting, but sad too, don't like to be away from my DH Chris so long. Can't go home to see Chris for 3 weeks (his next weekend off).:guilty: No laptop, so can't post until I get back (school in BFE, no internet cafes I can find) so wanted to wish everyone well and if anyones interested, will post what my new partners in training look like when I get home to the computer in a few weeks. Safe trips to everyone traveling soon and a wonderful spring to all. Denise

Hi Denise,

Yes, definitely post a pic of your new partner. Can't wait to see it. By the way, how is your old partner (I can't remember her name) adjusting? Do you get to see her?

Reneé

Kiya is doing great. She is currently residing with a friend named Sharon and her 9 year old boy Andy. Kiya is completely retired and wants nothing to do with anyone but Andy. HE is HER boy, not she his dog! :goodvibes She only gives him attention and will only go to Sharon if he is at school. Because she is so happy, I do not feel bad about not taking her. I have a standing invitation, but haven't as I know I will cry, AGAIN! plus it is too soon and I don't want to disrupt her new life yet. Maybe after I come back I'll stop by to give her a hug. Just not ready yet! I hope whatever dog I get is half as good as she was and I will be extremely lucky! Denise

Denise we are getting together with Cathy and Art on the 27th of this month through the weekend. You are welcome to join us if you like along with anyone else. We are coming back home on the 1st. Mike

Jeanneg, glad you had a good time in the Big Apple. At lest it was a mouse ::MickeyMo And not a rat! :earseek:
Jeanniec, Have a great trip! Enjoy the Springs!
Mike, What does a redneck use for a TV stand? His old TV!!! :rotfl: I am truely sorry for your loss. Hope the new TV gets some better mileage.
Rosemary...you go girl! :cheer2: Glad to hear you can manage the moterhome!
Logan, Yes PCB has changed a lot in the 25 years I've been here. But Shell Island is still nice. I worked at Capt. Anderson's for 2 years back in the late eighties. Still know lots of people there. And DS now goes to Patronis Elementary! (The Patronis Family donated the land for the school.) If you find yourselves heading this way, give us a holler. We have a small boat, and love to do the Shell Island thing. We also suba, snorkle, and water ski. And DH loves to go fishing.
Later, Avé

:wave2: Hi Dave and Ellen! Hope you have a great time on the Panama Canal Cruise.
:wave2: Hi Eric and Anja, Thanks for checking in from Thialand. Glad you're having a good time.
Starting to get geared up for our trip to Washington DC. Big sister just e-mailed, she got us tickets to see Mamma Mia! playing at the National Theater. I heard it was a good show. Anyone else out there hear anything about this show?
.
House update: Met with the builder. Picked our exterior colors, (shingles, stucco, and shutters.) Also our front door, and nailed down a bunch of details needed for construction to begin. The slab should be poured at the end of this week! I have meetings set up with the floor covering person, the cabinet person, and the lighting fixture person. So it looks like after long last......we are really starting on our house!     :cloud9:
Later, Avé

Wonder what pct. of the postings on this thread have anything to do with a DCL cruise at all? 20%? LOL, this thread reminds me of the DIS addiction thread last month in which I described a "friends of Walt D." meeting that could take place after the "friends of Bill W." meeting ended on board. But now that I have been introduced to this hearty-sized crew, the meeting might need to be relocated to a larger room, though, to accomodate all the DIS junkies.

Dave! So nice to see you posting. :D We also had a popup. I cried when we sold it. We had very many wonderful trips and fun times with it. We also used to tent camp. I love camping. But this weekend, I have to say was NOT camping!! But it was still great. Out on the beach, beautiful days. Met some very interesting people. Had some visitors come and visit us too (I served them fresh baked cinnamon buns - the oven works fine!). On Saturday night, after the campfire, we watched tape recording of Thursday's Survivor episode, even though I already knew who got booted (thanks Fiona!). The dogs loved the entire experience but I tell you the puppy was a bit much. Don't think we will be taking puppy to D.C. unless he gets a little better over the next three months.

Jeanneg - Sorry we missed you in NYC last week. With everything going on 'round here, never did make it to Manhattan. You and your hubby should certainly be very proud of your son. How exciting!

Our son, unfortunately, had his first sorta major car accident... with OUR car. It was last weekend, he was traveling between shows in New Jersey at 2 a.m. and some guy cut him off. The guy even told the trooper it was his fault and Richie had witnesses -- his passenger and one of the dancers traveling in the car in front of him. Fortunately, Richie and passenger and even the other guy were fine but our car is not :( .

Happy to hear from our German contigent all the way over in Thailand! Keep having fun guys!

Mike - You had me upset for a fraction of a second. T.V. died!... puh-leeezee! Glad you guys are all okay except for a pending empty wallet when you get that other T.V.

Ave and Mary - Gotta start planning our trip down your way soon. Ave - I guess you won't be in the new house by then at the rate they are going. Mary - Glad everything seems to be settling in nicely.

Oh, Dave, one more thing. We would go to the camp shows nearly every year and also dream that some day we would get a motor home but I half felt it would never be a reality. Ya know, I heard somewhere in my life and do firmly believe it, that dreams really do come true!!

Mike, I can get you a good deal on a Toshiba if you are interested... :teeth: ... not one from the trailer that drove off either! :rotfl:

Allen thanks, I will keep you in mind.

Following Kim and Bette's recommendation anyone that uses vanilla in their cooking need to get some Mexican vanilla when they are in cozumel or other port. It makes things taste wonderful. Mike

Mike & Kathy,
sorry to hear about your TV. We have a Sony 30'' Flatron Black Matrix with 100Hz (100 frames per second) which is only five years old and 'unfortunately' still in perfect shape. I was already considering to put a plant on top of it, so that Anja would perhaps short-circuit it when watering the green friend :teeth: This would enable me to get an LCD- or Plasma-screen :rotfl: and put the blame on her :rotfl2:

We just had dinner: 2 courses & drinks for 300Baht($7) including tip. Tomorrow we'll be diving again. The first set of underwater-pics taken with my Ixus came out great. We'll be diving with our brandnew wetsuits tomorrow for the very first time. We bought them yesterday together with a huge dive-bag to carry all the equipment and a brandnew logbook for about $180 - and will get back 7% of it at Customs as a tax-refund.
On Wednesday we'll do the beach again and shopping in the afternoon, Thursday it will be beach and packing, and on Friday we will return to Good Old Europe.
Will check the thread again before our departure

The Germs :wave2:

Hey everyone! We rode on Soarin' yesterday at Epcot. What a cool ride!!! Emily was dissappointed that she was too little, but she got over it quickly. Anyway, I would highly recommend it to everyone.

We're going back to WDW on Friday for Chris' birthday (& Earth Day). Then, I don't know when we'll be back.
