Good luck to everyone who is having surgery (Steve and Ave)

Jeanne and Mary--- Good luck with the packing and moving. Despite all the hard work, I'm sure that everyone will enjoy their new homes.

Ave--- You are next for the big pack and move.

Jim--- If you had just taken Air Canada to Harrisburg, Pa and came to see me when could have gone to the grocery store and bought that Hamburg Helper 10 for $10 and you wouldn't be experiencing the shortage now.

I just had my bi yearly blood work a few weeks ago and they didn't draw all the needed blood (this is the 2nd time that happened) Now I do work at the hospital and only required me to go back to the lab, however when the lady told me I need to re register I refused. I had returned in less than 24 hours and it wasn't my fault they didn't draw enough. She had a real attitude with me so I gave her attitude back. Asked to speak to a supervisor who wasn't available because of a meeting. It became a stand off. She went and registered me again and then I had the blood drawn. No concern that it was an inconvience for me. If they have this attitude toward someone who works here, I can imagine what people on the outside think. Norm one time left the lab because of the women's attitude and then called his physician to tell them why he didn't have the blood drawn.

I am so enjoying Amazing Race this year. So glad that mom/son are gone. I need Ray/Deanna to go next. What rude remarks he made about the other teams behind him especially the older couple. Rob and Amber are just so much fun to watch and he is playing the game so well.

Raining and cold 38 degrees. Will I ever be able to put the winter sweaters away?

This just in from my 23 yr-old daughter......"Gee Mom, Easter will be so much fun this year....since we'll be in the new house we'll have all new hiding places for the eggs!"
Well, I just stopped dead in my tracks for a moment or two. And then I delivered the proclamation: EASTER IS OFFICIALLY CANCELLED (not postponed, CANCELLED) IN OUR HOUSEHOLD THIS YEAR! I will go to Mass, but that's it. No candy shopping, no big Easter dinner, no Easter baskets, no egg dying and no Easter egg hunt! The movers come tomorrow and I'm frantic! After that, we need to borrow a neighbor's truck so we can get my old washer/dryer to my daughter's home (3 hr.round trip) and then use it to haul away lots of stuff to the dump. Then, we have to return for the final touch-ups and cleaning ( this is an over 4,000 sq ft house, remember). So that's why Easter is cancelled! Once I log off today, I'll be down for a few days, so here's wishing a happy Easter to all those of you for whom the holiday is NOT cancelled. Wish me luck getting through the rest of this week. When I come back my address will be different.
Oh, and I hope I don't forget to exhume St Joseph!

You go girl. Way to set those kids straight. Make them work over the Easter break.

Good luck with your move.

Nancy

Ave congrats on the house - hopefully it won't take too long to build now. Take it easy after the surgery too.

Jean - have fun moving and congrats on cancelling a holiday. We were never able to hide Easter eggs because we always had dogs who were much better finders than anyone!

Have to agree that Ray and Deanna have to go next as do Lynn and Alex. Next week is 2 hours and looks like all kinds of things happen. Can't wait.

For Survivor fans - don't forget it's on tonight rather than tomorrow.

Neither do we hide eggs in our house - due to lack of time: Anja has to work Friday til Sunday (In Germany Easter goes from Good Friday til Easter Monday, but shops stay open on Saturday) and I will very probably at the office on Saturday, too. My partner left for a two week vacation today and my in-basket is spilling over.
I clocked over-time today, will do it again tomorrow and probbaly the whole next week - But with our vacation just 16 days away that's manageable ;)
On Good Friday I will switch wheels on our car and clean the interior. It's time to get the fat summer-rubber on it, and the dash and the leatherseats do need some cleaning. The car has to sparkle when I drive it to the dealership very soon to trade it in for the new model.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I'm sure everything will be fine. Looking forward to a week off. Mary's hubby (and his dad) will be here in the next few hours to drop off the first load of stuff at thier "new" house. We've got a big pot of spaggetti on the stove. :flower:

Jeanne, Good luck with the move. Don't work too hard. :flower:

Hopeing Steve's surgery goes well. :wizard:

Bye everyone,
Avé

Ave,
please say Hi to George & his Dad - We spent a nice evening with George's parents and Mary & George last year and enjoyed chatting with them very much.

I somehow must have missed Steve's surgery: Crossed fingers for your Lasik - A coworker of mine did it last year and he's still talking about how it has improved his life at every opportunity.

Woke up to a new dusting of the white stuff. Am just hoping that this is absolutely the last of it.

Fiona

Hi Fiona,

We have that same disease falling from the sky here also.... It totally blows. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO sick of snow. I want spring !, I want to be able to work on the house renovations ! I want to go to Florida ! ..... Am I whining ???

Bye, Kim

Ave best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Kim hope that it warms up for all of you real soon. Best of luck to all that are moving and to all that are cruising soon.

Good packing snow today. Anybody wanna build a snowman?... better yet, who's up for a snowball fight?? :duck:

Good luck with the new home Jeanneg.... and the move Mary and George.... and the surgical procedures Ave and Steve......

Tomorrow is our BIG day, but first, off to work today..... trudge, trudge, trudge.....

How depressing but we actually do have enough snow to build a snowman. It's supposed to go up to 5C here today so hopefully it will be gone soon.

Have to pick up DS today so am leaving work early. Scandal on the base though - a civilian female (who it appears was married to a soldier) has been charged with assault for having unprotected sex with soldiers knowing that she was HIV positive. DS knows who the girl is and says she made the rounds in his barracks. Scary.

Back to work.

Fiona

Snow??? :confused3
We had 19°C/67°F today but the night was chilly. For tomorrow the forecasters predict some precipitation, but at least it will be liquid :earboy2:
Sending :sunny: and good thought to all snow-stricken friends :wave2:
BTW,
the other Germs are still very, very busy: Kerstin works at a tax-office and as in Germany the IRS wants our statements til 31st of May she's overworked, and her DH Andre has to do lots of extra-work as a judge in equestrian tournaments. They're sendeing their best :wave2:

Cool peter

High tomorrow is supposed to be 72ºF, 22ºC. The forsythias are in bloom along with the Bradford pear trees.

Good Evening all! Just popping on before bed to report that all went well today! :cool1: Steve came back to the hotel to rest and I took the boys to COSI for the day. His eyes look MUCH better then this morning and he says they aren't even bothering him! Tomorrow we follow up at 9am with the Dr, then we are off to my Mom's in Cleveland. THANK YOU for all the well wishes and pixie dust! It really does mean a lot! I'll check in as I can! ENJOY all the snow! LOL I am glad it is you and not me!

Glad the surgery went well for Steve. Congratulations to Rich and Rosemary on getting their RV today.

Congrats on the successful Lasik, Steve :wave2:
Now we will really be able to SEE us next year :rotfl:

Rosemary & Richard,
how's your RV? Our did you postpone the first drive due to snow?

Steve, glad to hear your surgery was a success.

Tracy

:cool1: Wow, so much to catch up on.

Lasik is a wonderful thing - George had surgery a month before our Fairytale Wedding and I had it a year and a half later. If anyone needs a recommendation on Orlando - I have the office for you.

Glad to see that pharmacists are actually increasing in number. Lets give the nurses a run for their money. ( although there seems to be an awful lot of them )

Can't wait to see everyone again. We are doing the last California cruise and then 'bringing the magic home' this year. God willing - George and I were thinking of doing a week at wdw and a week long cruise next year with both sets of parents. They are not getting any younger and hopefully they will all be healhy enough for travel in October.

I guess that's all for the moment. Got some more catching up to do on the thread. PS: The cherry blossom festival is starting today in Washington DC. Hopefully this year I will get to see them. I am off 2 weekends from now - I hope the blooms will be out then.
