Looking forward to cruising with you all.

Dan

I know you from somewhere, but I can't remember clearly :confused3 :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Chuck & Dino requested to be put on The List  Seems like they eventually want to join the cult :teeth:

To everyone:
There will be an update this weekend: Addition of Chuck & Dean, COB2-veterans. Change of Marianne's address and DIS-name.
So please send your changes til Saturday noon, CET.

VAN...Would LOVE pics of MM!!!!!

Great news today...we got THREE Offers on the house today! Of course we will accept the best one, and will sign a contract tomorrow. Then we have to wait for inspection and if all goes well, we will be closing on March 30th!!!The closing on our new house in PCB on Apirl 14th. Please keep you fingers crossed for us!

Mary - I'll send you the MM pics tomorrow.

I have to make a correction on Kylie's swim results. She actually took 1:20 off her mile time. Leave it to the teenager to catch my mistake.

Van,
more reasons for you to smile: We had temps below 0°C/32°F again this morning and it will be snowing again later today :cold: :cold:
Nevertheless I drove with the top down yesterday at 8°C/46°F :smooth:

Congrats on all those offers, Mary.
We keep our fingers crossed for you :wave2:

Bummer with the laptop Mike. :(

Get well wishes for all who are sick and/or on the mend...

*Fingers Crossed* for Mary and George...

Set up some tentative vacation time for this year:

June: Plan on being in D.C. Thursday, 6/23 - 6/25 or 26 to catch up with Ave and any other DIS'ers who happen to be there.

July: Last week in July for a car trip to points down south -
  • Flagler, FL to see relative
  • PCB, FL hopefully if Ave and Mary are available
  • Ft. Rucker, AL to visit museum at Richard's old army base
  • Bessemer, AL to visit my brother
  • perhaps travel back home through Tennessee for a quick stop to visit some people we used to know who live there :rotfl: (umm, papa?? You and Kathy up for a quick visit?)
It might be an ambitious trip with all the stops and the time frame but don't plan on staying long in any one place. Ave/Mary - Would some time that last week in July be good for you guys for a quick visit from NY'ers? How about you guys, Mike and Kathy??

October - I put n for Monday, Columbus Day, cuz I hear the Germans will be invading NYC. Rich is already off that day.

November - Put in for the week of Election Day and Veteran's Day cuz Rich gets both those days off and we could perhaps go somewhere but also can pull a day or two from that time in case we need to take off a little more time when "The Germs" arrive in the northeast!

Jean,

Haley wore her Minnie Mouse outfit today that you gave her for the first time (she is finally in 3T) and looked adorable. She loves the hood with the Minnie ears and won't take it off! I have to remember to take a picture of her in it and post it.

Thank you again.

Reneé

That Haley is SOOOOOO Cute!!!! Love the Easter photo!!!

Well, gotta tear myself away and go off to work today.... a Friday! which is usually my day off! BUMMER!!! :(

Just wanted to say HI and have a good weekend! I am on the mends, but still a mess. We are going away for the weekend with the car club and the weather is not cooperating! We are to get 1 to 3 inches of snow, and I have families from 5 states traveling over to be with us! I pray everyone gets here safe and sound!

Mike, You might not think the pictures are good, but they sure do show the damage! I am so glad it still works! I hope Stitch has less damage. Poor thing... :teeth:

Mary, Congrats on the house sale! I hope it all goes smoothly! :wizard:

I wish you all a safe and warm weekend! It HAS to be spring soon, right?
:flower: :sunny: :flower3: :flower2: :shamrock: :flower1: :boat: :daisy: :moped:

Mike--- That laptop is like the old Timex watches. "Can take a licken but keep on ticking" Thanks for the phone call. We can't go to the cardiologist until after the semester ends because of DS#2 schedule. Hockey is over so he more than likely won't have a problem until the season begins again next fall.

Rosemary--- I'm glad someone has their vacations planned. You have your year planned. Eric is another one is well organized with his planning. I still haven't finalized anything. Looking at 4 day weekend in Williamsburg in April. That is if spring ever comes. We bought a year long pass last April and want to use it one more time. Still undecided if we are doing WDW in May. I'm getting my taxes back from the accountant today so see how much the refund is and go from there. We need somethings done around the house, but I rather spend money on vacation.

Mary--- Good luck with the sale of your house. Lets hope no ex wifes or husbands are next door neighbors.

WDWCrazzyCunninghams--- I hope the weather cooperates. DS#2 went back to college near Pittsburgh early from spring break so he could avoid the snow that is being called for this weekend. Actually his college is half way between Pittsburgh and WVU. His best friend goes to WVU and he goes down to Morgantown to visit him when he has a free weekend.

Renee--- Cute Easter picture of Haley.

I took all my winter decorations including my Dickens Village down finally. I was sick of looking at snowmen and snow on the Dickens houses. Now my Easter villages are all up. Hopefully, the snow outside will soon melt and the flowers will bloom. I am sick of the cold and snow.

Glad lazy Kim got the boot on Survivor. Gosh I could be on Survivor if all it requires is sitting on your butt. Still liking Tom and Ian. Also glad John is gone from the Apprentice. Gosh he was obnoxious.

TGIF.

Nancy

Eric,
You sound like me with putting the top down. As soon as there's a hint of warm weather I break out the shorts. Sometimes I'm wearin a sweat shirt but not today. Forcast is 22c/73f today. I'll get it on Monday though. The overnight low will be well below 0c/32f again and I started running with Kylie in the morning this week. You can bet I won't be wearin shorts for that 5am run on Monday.

Everyone have a great weekend.

Van

After stopping to retrieve the items it way scratched all to hell on the bottom as it is an aluminum cased laptop. I will post some pictures tomorrow. I opened it up and it is still working like a champ. I am posting on the boards with it right now.

Ok Mike I've been considering buying an apple because OS X is a lot like UNIX. You may have convinced me with this durability story. I can't imagine my current laptop falling from the desk and still working.

Van,
there's no bad weather - There's only bad clothing :teeth:
Our forecast says 19°C/6°F late next week   So we'll be running outdoors too next weeken. I want to use my Garmin Forerunner 201 GPS eventually :teeth:

Ein schönes Wochenende für alle (Everyone have a great weekend)

Hi guys....I'm back from WDW and I'm swamped with stuff to do. I can't believe there were so many posts to catch up on so I basically just skimmed them.
Nancy: I hope your son is feeling better.....that sounds like a VERY scary incident!
Renee: Love the new photo of Haley.....she is just too cute! And yes, I'd love to see her in the outfit if it's convenient!
Mike: sorry about the computer, but happy that Stitch survived!
Mary: that's GREAT news about the offers and super quick closing. Where will you go for the 2 weeks your home isn't ready? Sounds like you'll be busy packing also!
About the new admission passes........they stink! In addition to costing more, there is no way you can share a ticket. I know Disney has always claimed that multi-day tickets are not transferable but they never enforced it, and we have always shared our passes among family members. Now, everyone has to use the biometric finger tagging system and it takes forever to get into the parks. I can't imagine what it will be like this summer when it's crowded. I bought 4 10-day passes and let my sister and Jenni's friend use 3 days each because the cost of a 3-day parkhopper was over $200! Now I've got 7 days left on each of those tickets which I may not be able to use since they're tied to their individual biometric finger tags. However, I will cross that bridge when I come to it, because there are going to be an awful lot of unhappy campers once people realize what is happening. I can see making an annual pass untransferable because that has unlimited use potential, but for multi-day passes you actually pay based on how many days you request so I don't see what the big deal is if different members of the same family use them on different days. I think alot of people will end up visiting the parks alot less if they continue to enforce this.
I was able to see Amazing Race while at Disney. The parks closed at 8pm that evening so my sister and I were back in the hotel room and already in our jammies by the time it started. I still haven't found a team I really like yet.....I guess we have to get to know them better.
I'm really liking Survivor this time around. I don't know if I necessary like him, but James cracks me up. He always comes out with these funny expressions and that beak on him is one for the Guiness Book of World Records! It was so funny when Coby whopped his butt! I have to hand it to Angie......she's turning out to be a real asset to the team considering the cards were all stacked against her in the beginning. The tatoos and piercings make her very freakish, but she's really a hard little worker. I don't care much for the short-haired older woman (Karen?).....all she does is whine, but she contributes nothing to the team. I keep thinking that at some point they will bring back those 2 people that were eliminated immediately. It doesn't seem fair that they didn't get a chance to play the game at all....especially since it was only one person that did the choosing and not the whole team as a group.

Jeanne,
wanna hear about the ticket we usually buy for Disney?
It's called the Florida Fun in the Sun-Pass. This year it's €270/$360 for an adult, €217/$290. It grants 30 days of full access to WDW. And when I say full access, I mean FULL access: Unlimited admission to all parks, all waterparks, Disney Quest, Wide World of Sports & Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island. Additonally it's also valid for Kennedy Space Center, the Salvador Dali Museum in St Pet, the Miamy Sea Aquarium, the Everglades Safari Park, and the Ford/Edison Winterhomes.
And the icing on the cake: Included is also a Character Breakfast at the Restaurant of your choice.
As far as I know this pass is only available in Germany, the Netherlands & the UK. But I once read on The Boards, that some people were able to somehow obtain it as Americans through European channels.
We used that pass in 2003. We had to prepay it at our travel agency and then received a voucher for it, which we traded for the WDW-tickets at a ticket booth in the TTC, where the monorails for EPCOT and MK and the boats to MK leave. They are then valid for 30 consecutive days at all aforementioned attractions.
The same goes for the Character Breakfast: The package contains a voucher for the meal. We did a regular PS, and after the breakfast we simply paid with the voucher and added ~25% tip for the CMs.
And we also had to use the biometrics of course.
No questions that we will buy that pass again next year. But next year we will definitely stay onsite. Our stay offsite in the Downtown Disney-area last year sucked. We will either use the All Star Movies (Buzz Lightyear :teeth: ) or go to the Pop Century.
BTW, is it correct that as an on-site guest you don't have to pay for parking at the parks?

Rosemary, The last week of July is GREAT for me. My boss is going to be out of town the whole week. So, while I will have to work some, my schedule will be very flexible. So I guess we will see you in June and July! :flower:
I gotta run down to my father-in-laws.
Later,
Avé

Last week of July would be great for us also Rosemary. Love to see you  Mike

That is an amazing deal, Eric. When our children were younger, we would typically spend a week to 10 days at Disney each year and buying multi-day or even length of stay passes was not such an issue. Now, with everyone on his/her own schedule, we tend to do shorter but more frequent vacations and everyone can come and go as suits their needs. We've gotten into the habit of just buying the biggest multi-day passes and using them among ourselves from year-to-year. It's still only one person per ticket per day, but now we'll have to predict exactly how we plan to use each person's admission and it will be harder to accommodate our guests. Does anyone know what happens when the biometrics don't line up? Afterall, I do have my original purchase receipt which should account for something. Personally, I can't see this system flying in the crowded summer months, but you never know. There were about 15 people ahead of us on line to get into Epcot and it took about 20 minutes to get to the turnstile! Everyone was very annoyed.
Yes, parking at all the parks is free if you are a Disney resort guest. Upon check-in they will ask you if you have a car and if so, give you a paper to put in your windshield with the dates of your stay. When the attendents at the parking gate see it, they will wave you through. BTW, if you ever have to pass through the main entrance plaza before checking in, you can show them your reservation confirmation and they will also waive the parking fee. Most of the time when we have a car at WDW we still use the bus transportation system. It lets you off much closer to the gate and we've never found the wait to be that long, although I have heard complaints from people staying at the All-Star resorts.

One of the airlines - Jetsgo - here in Canada just went belly up yesterday. Left 17,000 people stranded all over the place as they made no arrangements to bring people home and the other airlines aren't honouring the tickets. Senior partner was going to fly Jetsgo to Florida this coming Wednesday but is now flying Southwest out of Buffalo. The really bad part is that yesterday was the start of March Break here so there were tons of people flying out yesterday morning who couldn't. In the paper today there's an article that they knew on Wednesday that they might be declaring bankruptcy but still continued to sell tickets. This would be a big no-no so we'll see what happens.

Was so glad to see Kim go from Survivor and John from Apprentice. I was afraid that Trump was going to fire Chris and was so relieved when John was fired -- what an obnoxious idiot, and that's being generous.

More snow today in the forecast. Still below 0C although I really don't want to know how much below it is!

Spring - where are you????

Fiona
