Congratulations on getting #2200, Mike :cheer2:

Gramps was fine when I visited him this afternoon. Tomorrow we will know more after he had the consultation with the specialist. He told me to thank all of you for wishing him well - Although he still can't grasp how we all stay in contact via the Web ;)

Eric,
Please add my best wishes to all the others for Gramps. I wish he could meet my best friend's father-in-law. "Pops" just celebrated his 94th birthday in November. He walks 2 miles everyday and when the weather is foul, he carries an umbrella in one hand and his cane in the other. He's been living with my friend for about 18 months now and does all her lawn/yard work. Long story short, she has the most magnificently maintained landscaping in the whole development.....and Pops does all of it! Whenever you talk about Gramps, I can't help but think how much like Pops he is. People like that are such an inspiration......I hope he recovers from his recent maladies and is feeling chipper again soon!

Thanks, Ave & Jeanne :wave2:
He's most afraid now that he will miss his BIL's party for his 60th wedding anniversary on 04/02. Additionally he promised him to spend three weeks at his place in May when BIL's wife is off to the North Sea - She insists that he's not alone for that time. A then 92year-old taking care of a 94year-old :rotfl:

Today while Anja was at work I eventually hung up the picture Ducky Williams sketched for Anja in the Walt Disne Theatre. Anja destroyed our large wallclock several weeks ago: She simply tore it off the wall when putting on her coat, destroying it completely. It was a gigantic Swatch-wristwatch of about 6 feet length with a dial of more than a foot diameter. I tried to get the same one on ebay, but so far without success. So I simply accepted the truth and hung the Pooh in the DCL-frame in that place.

Eric-- Sorry to hear about your Grandfather. He will be in our thoughts and prayers also. Both of my grandmothers lived to be 95. My one grandmother had Altzeimers and was in a nursing home for years which is not the way you want to live to be 95. My other grandmother was very healthy and lived independently in a high rise. She had a massive heart attack on Labor Day 4 years ago, and was recovering from that when she had a second one and died peacefully in her sleep. So if I live that long I hope I am like her.

Jeanne--- I was wondering how those new tickets were doing. As for the finger scanner, I know that with our annual passes half the time they don't work. We have had to go to guest relations and have them reissued to us. It seems if we haven't used them for several months and when we go back they don't work. You can always demagnitize them and get them reset. I think the new tickets are such a ripoff. What does it cost Disney for you to park hop, nothing. I would think they want you in the parks spending money. If you went to AK and since it always closes early you have the entire evening to not go to a park if you don't have the park hopping option. Unless you have a car doing mini golf is difficult to get to. So just hang at the pool in the hotel. Norm and my AP is good until mid june and if we take the boys not sure how many days we will buy, but will get the park hopping option. They may just want to golf and not do the parks.

Got our taxes back now just need to hook up with the boys to get them to sign theirs so they can be efiled. As long as it took DS#1 to get his W-2 to me, he will be doing the signing at the last minute.

Gosh I don't even know where I stuck the Ducky Williams sketch let alone hang it up.

Of to make dinner.

Nancy

Hello all! We are back from our weekend away, and the weather cooperated nicely! We got there on Friday evening, and that night it snowed. We awoke to a winter wonderland...just beautiful! By the time the rest of the crowd got there, the snow was gone...made driving a breeze! That night, after the party was over...which was really a great time...it started to snow again, and once again, we awoke to a winter wonderland this morning! By the time we finished lunch, the snow was gone and were heading home! We got home about 4pm today and by 530 we had 3 inches of snow! It's wet and heavy and still falling!! We have now about 5 inches! At least we are home and the Avalanche is unpacked! I can fool with putting everything away tomorrow! I didn't sleep well last night..which is unusal for me..but our 7 year old, Connor, was a bit nervous about staying in the cabin, so he slept in bed with me...which we nearly NEVER do! I like my regular sleeping buddy better! It's nearly bedtime for the boys, and I will follow very closely behind!
Eric and Anja...sending pixie dust and prayers across the great pond for your Gramps!

Eric - Please send our best wishes to Gramps too!

Well, there seems to have been a change in plans for our road trips to both D.C. and points down south.
We originally were planning on doing same in our Monte Carlo. That's not gonna happen.....
We will be making those trips in our brand new 2004 Fleetwood Flair Motor Home!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!???!! We are SO EXCITED!!!
We take posession on Good Friday - less than two weeks away.
I certainly can't believe it. It is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!

And in 2006 we will be driving down to Cruisetoberfest in it too. No Radisson for us this time!!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :jumping1: :dancer: :dancer:

Rosemary..how exciting! I can't wait to see it. When I started reading your post, I thought you were going to say you had to cancel your trip!Looking forward to seeing you in PCB!

Eric, pixie dust to your Gramps. Please keep us posted. He is in our prayers.

Rosemary& Richard,
congratulations on getting a motorhome - This is cool!!
I always say to Anja 'When we hit the Jackpot in the lottery, we will do a cruise around the world and a 1year-trip across the States and Canada in one of those 40+ feet-motorhomes. Visiting all our friends and riding every coaster available.'

Wow Looks Super Nice..

Rosemary and Richard--- Congratulations on the Motor Home.

Monday morning and back to work.

Spring starts 3/20 so hopefully the snow will stop by then and warm weather returns. I am so tired of the cold. I know someone mentioned last week about all the dog poop in the yard. Since the snow is melting, I have been trying to rake it up to get rid of it. What any ugly job. Plus because of the snow and the beagles couldn't make it through the deep snow, it was all confined to a small area. At least it looks better for now.

Great conversation for a Monday morning.

Peter, Bette, and Kim--- I saw that you got hit with more snow this weekend. I'm sure you are more anxious for spring than I am.

Arlene-- How is your mom doing? We haven't heard from you lately.

Nancy

Nancy - thanks for asking..we brought mom home from the hospital on Thursday. We now have at least 6-8 weeks healing time in front of us. We needed to get extra care for her at her assisted living facility along with a personal aide in the morning. Hopefully this will be a quick healing period.

Erik: How is grandpa doing? I agree at 92 I wouldnt be getting any holes in my head either.....

When are we all going to go to Washington - I really need a change of scenery and weather - really tired of snow already...

Did anyone watch Home Extreme Makovers(or whatever it is called). They had disney come in and redecorate a childrens cancer wing in the hospital. Mickey was there with his construction gear on...

Arlene

Arlene glad that you got your mom home and that she is doing well. Arlene we were thinking the last weekend in April.

Congratulations on your motor home Rosemary and Rich. Kathy is green with envy.

Mike

Rosemary&Rich: congrats on the new motor home......that sounds awesome!
Arlene: glad your mom is home from the hospital. Best wishes for her speedy recovery.
Nancy: Actually, we DID have our passes reissued. I got soaked on Cali River Rapids and since they were paper tickets, I took them to GS to see if they were still readable. The cast member issued new ones but it doesn't help since the history of the ticket is already in the system's memory. The new ticket has the same numbers as the old ones and is just a duplicate copy so it wouldn't help with the finger tag. I think if that were the case people would catch on quickly and you'd have everyone soaking their tickets and blaming Splash Mt, etc.! I'm not really worried because I truly can't see them enforcing this during peak attendance periods. It took SO long to get through the turnstile. At AK, they were diverting practically a third of the line to GS, but at Epcot I saw them press what I assume to be an override button and just let people through. What happens is that your ticket goes in but doesn't come out unless the biometrics are right. The people directly ahead of us had problems and I saw the attendant just press something and the ticket came out. I agree with you about park-hopping. it doesn't seem right to add the fee to multi-day tickets....especially since it costs $35 to add it to a single day pass as well as to a 10-day one!

Arlene,
good to hear that your Mom is back home.

Gramps will return home tomorrow. The specialist came to the result, that the depot of fluid in Gramp's forehead is harmeless for the time being. They will do another MRT next year same time to see if there is a change. So everything is fine so far, but I guess it cost his health insurance an arm and a leg :teeth:

Pete,
thanks for providing the link to the motorhomes.

Hey Mike,
check ou this thread: Has anyone of you left something on your car's roof? :rotfl2:
See? I told you, that you're not alone.
Today a coworker of mine returned from two weeks vacation in South Africa. When we chatted a bit during breakfast break, he mentioned that he thinks about getting an Apple-Notebook. After I had shown him the pics of your iBook, he was sure that it will be right choice.

Hi all! I just wanted to add our name to the list of 10/14/06 cruisers. Looks like we will be cruising with a fun bunch of people! Can't wait to meet all of you! My family consists of myself (33), my DH(40), DD (age 6 at time of sailing) & DS (age 3 at time of sailing). We are in room 6556 & have early dinner seating.

We just returned from the 02/26/05 Western cruise & I have to say, the cruise was great but the weather was a bit chilly! Looking forward to the warmer October weather. I'm also looking forward to my DS being able to go to the Oceaneer's Club with his big sister. :cheer2:

Welcome to Cruisetoberfest, Walczak4. Your user name is interesting. It sounds Polish.

Thanks everyone for the congrats and thanks for the link Peter. The actual model is a 31A but our interior is much nicer than the one they show. Stopped at AAA after work today to map out our trip. I think we will need to take more time off!! And Nancy, they have us going through Harrisburg on the way back from Tennessee!! Hmmmm...

Big Red! Love your photo of the Magic. That's Key West, isn't it. What were you, skydiving when you snapped the photo?! :confused3 :rotfl2:

Mike - DC at the end of April? I thought people were going to coordinate going there when the twins are there? :confused3 Ah yes, Cherry Blossom time. You don't want to miss those beautiful cherry blossoms, I betya.

Eric - Glad gramps is okay. Now he can make the party after all. :cheer2:
