Marianne - You taught me something. I had no idea the pilot light wasn't on all the time.

It is brightly sunny out this afternoon and fairly warm -- ok warm for here this time of year -- not warm if you live in Florida though which is where I wish I was.

Am doing work for the senior partner. To say it isn't fun is an understatement. Just get it done is his motto -- details are left up to me. It's been interesting to say the least. :goodvibes

Back to work. Thought I had my desk almost cleared to work on a file that will cover my desk again but alas not yet.

Is 5pm here soon???

Van:That's great news about debbie and about your kids' swimming achievements. We too are swim team parents so we can really relate. I don't remember how old Kylie is but that's impressive that she swims the mile. Our daughter, Jenni, who is a junior at Lehigh is also considered a distance swimmer but HATES the 1650 with a passion. In fact, Lehigh just did a press release on her this morning. If anyone is interested, you can check it out here:http://www.lehighsports.com/release.asp?RELEASE_ID=3562
(Wow, I'm so impressed with myself that I did that.......hopefully it works!)
Jeannie: I agree with Eric....your DIS friends are "priceless"!
Could there be a big announcement on the horizon? Please keep your fingers crossed everybody.......I am hoping to report some good news soon.
Jeanne,
I just read the article about Jenni: R-E-S-P-E-C-T
Although I do a lot of sports and have no trouble running for 2 hours, or -my biggest accomplishment- doing 6 hours nonstop aerobics, I would never swim a mile. Our gym has two pools, but so far we've never used them. We're kind of strange: We only like to swim in the sea. So usually we only swim when we're on vacation. I guess we may have swum a mile underwater i.e in Cozumel when diving, but that was done at a very slow pace and in a currrent.
Check your mailbox, I sent you a pic of you and John taken during the eco-tour

I agree, Eric. My Cruisetober friends are very precious, but I sure would like a free trip to Italy on a private jet, too.

Fiona--
The pilot DOES stay on all the time. It's the burner that shuts off when the water in the tank reaches the proper temperature.
Marianne

Hi Everyone!
Wow, lots to catch up with. :goodvibes
Van, good to hear from you. Great news about the kids and Debbie.
Maryanne, glad you have hot water again.
Fiona, still no snow here in Florida. :sunny:
Jeanniec, You DO have friends like that, but we are all poor!
Welcome to our new folks! Please don't worry about not knowing anyone. We were all there once, and we know what it's like. I'm with you, the only thing that gets me over my post-cruise blues is planning our next one. Even if it is a long way off.
Jeanneg, I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you. :flower:
Nancy, I never gave my mom flowers for valentine. It just was not something that we did. But always got her something for Mother's Day.
My DH gave me a single rose, a box of chocolates, and took me out to dinner. He's a sweetie!
Going to watch "Lost" tonight. Missed last week because I was sick. But that's ok cause I'm lost watching it anyway. ;)
Later,
Avé

Marianne

It is so funny watching you girls trying to explain technical stuff to each other - Nearly as funny as watching you parallel-park a car :rotfl2:

Well guys,

The time has come (again) we are off to the hospital. Ding Ding Ding Round 3 ! If all goes well you might see an update tonight. Nothing can compare to the 2 nd time we did this. Mom send hugs to all....

Bye, Kim

Take care Kim and Bette. You are in our thoughts and prayers. :grouphug: :love2: Mike and Kathy

Pixie Dust to you Bette and to you Kim as well. Hope all goes well.

Marianne - ok I guess I read your post wrong and Eric, well there are lots of things that women understand that you men have no clue about! We don't even try to explain them. :goodvibes

It's snowing again here. Very lightly but it's coming down. (again)

Must go and get ready for work.

Fiona

Bette ... Bless your, Bless you, Bless you, God speed on your surgery and I'll be looking forward to the update tonite!

Kim ... take care of our girl and yourself.

Van and JeanneG ... what swimmers you have -- someday the olympics?

Van ... great news about Debbie, hope things keep getting better and better for her.

BTW - FYI carribean lobsters don't have the large front claws that northern, cold water lobsters have. That's a bummer cause that meat is really sweet too.

back to work --- darn ......

I simply couldn't resist, Fiona ;)

More Pixie Dust to Bette -- hope all goes well today and you have a speedy recovery. :cheer2: :cheer2: Kim -- Keep us posted whenever you can find the time.

Once again and as always....best of luck Bette....we'll both be thinking of you... :wave2: :flower3: :cat:

My company just raised our salaries by 3.5%. Everybody will get 1.6%, the remaining 1.9% are distributed according to performance
Tomorrow I have to bring our convertible to the shop: A part of the retractable roof is broken. Fortunately we have a 5 year full warranty on the car. It cost some bucks extra, but with so many electronic and mechanical gizmos it was a worthy investion.

NEWS FLASH ... Just spoke with Bette, she's home and had her surgery and so far is sore (to be expected) and things went well. I warned her to behave and listen to Kim and not do anything she shouldn't. WHEW! (See prayer does help.)

Also ... MaryJo is busy with work like the rest of us. Unfortunately she is going thru some cut-backs at the hospital and lost some of her vacation, so she's bummed but OK. Sarah made High Honors at school and is real happy.

Back to work ... had to let you know about Bette.

It is finally over !!!

Hi Guys, Kim here...

Moms surgery is finished. She did fine and is home resting in bed now.The Drs & Nursers at this new facility were great. Ans yes, Kim behaved herself...

She will be back on the boards next week, but will lay low for the next couple of days. The Dr is very confident that the tumor was not cancerous great news. Hey Eric I even have an 8/10 glossy printo of the tumor, Is that the kind of photo you want for the newsletter ??? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously, Thanks for all the well wishes, you guys mean so much to mom & I.

Bye. Kim

Great news. Kim - thanks so much for letting us know that the surgery is over. Tell Bette we said she better behave herself and do what the doctor and you tell her to so she can heal and get ready for your next cruise!
