We are going to try to get tickets to see "Polar Express" at the IMAX 3-D threatre today. It's playing all over town, but that particular showing has been selling out consistently. We might have to opt for the midnight showing!

Did you like it? Michael said it was "stupid", we thought it was overly long. But then again, he thought "Elf" was "dumb". Maybe I'll just stick with the old standards for my Christmas High!

I told my Mom about this thread and she can't believe that (1) all the people we met on the Magic-al Mystery Cruise were still writing and (2) the thread was started so early!! She just doesn't get the "Disney" fix connection!!

Hugs,
Rae

Is anyone going back on a DIS cruise anytime soon? I would love to have the recipe book from the gift shop on the ship that has the recipe for the Lasagna Bolognese. I have searched Disney top to bottom, and can't find anything from the ships. Or, if someone can point me to the recipe somewhere, that would be good also. Just beam me to CC Scotty.... :teleport:

Happy Shopping,
Allen

We're taking another Disney cruise, but it's not until August. I know it's a long way off, but I can get the cookbook for you if you haven't gotten it before then.

I Think I saw the book At Downtown Disney ... in the Art of Disney shop...

Not positive it is the Same one but Do remember seeing Some Recipes From the Ship in the book...

We LOVED Polar Express, but I think alot had to do with it being IMAX and 3D! It was definitely cheesey, but in a warm fuzzy sort of way. I'm not sure how old Michael is, but if he's a male adolescent or teen, I'm sure it's way too hokey for his coolness if you get my drift! The neat thing about 3D was that the characters were really in your face, and alot of the effects with the train were awesome....at one point it looked like the train was coming out of the screen and right over us. Of course, when it snowed it seemed like it was inside the theatre and little things like that that made it so much better than just viewing a regular film. I love the book and it was a favorite when my own kids were little, but I don't know if I would have been as enthusiastic about the movie if I didn't attend the IMAX version. Last weekend we saw National Treasure, which I loved, Incredibles (probably the worse Disney movie I've seen in a long time, but my hubby and kids liked it) and get this......Seed of Chuckie! I totally got suckered into that one and could not believe what those dolls did on film! And if I say anymore I'll legitimately get censored! It was my first - and definitely last - Chuckie movie!

We saw Polar Express and liked it but weren't wowed by it although the animation was neat. Maybe if we'd seen the 3D version but I'm not sure if it's playing here or not. We did love the Incredibles though and Jim wants to go back and see it again.

Would like to see National Treasure but just don't know when I'm going to fit it in.

DS is taking his driving test again tomorrow so hopefully he'll pass this time.

Busy at work this week and next week and then hopefully it will slow down. Am somewhat happy that Christmas and Boxing Day are Saturday and Sunday because we get the Monday & Tuesday off so it's at least 4 days in a row!!

Hope everyone is well.

Is the post at the top of the page what a quick reply/post looks like? I kept reloading the page last night, thinking "Now what's wrong with my computer?!?" No snow here, thank goodness, standing outside in the cold is bad enough without any wet stuff around! PS - If anyone crosses the U.S. border this holiday season, think twice before you wrap your presents to take with you, it could save you some time at the check points if they are unwrapped!!! Happy holidays from your friendly neighborhood puppy pusher! :goodvibes

Polar Express won't start here before 12/09 :guilty:
But IMAX 3D is cool: Last Saturday we saw 'Ghosts of the Titanic' in the IMAX 3D - It was soo great!!!

Fridayfun this is a Quick reply... hope it helps..

this is a normal reply dont see much difference ??

I don't see the difference in a quick reply. This is just a 'normal' reply.

No snow here. Just lots of rain. Yuck.

Was snow in Ottawa though this morning which delayed Pres. Bush's departure. They made a big point of saying on the news last night that he ate Alberta beef for dinner. Hopefully that border will be open soon.

First time posting in the new format. Children back in college so enjoying the quite. Have house decorated, except for the living room tree. We are going to WDW from 12/8-12/13, so have to wait until we get back. I told Norm that since we would be home on the 13th by 3pm that we can get the tree that day. That way it will give me a few days to decorate it before the boys return for Christmas break. Have done some shopping, but doing more online ordering than actually going out and hitting the stores. Plus doing alot of gift certificates.

I was able to purchase last minute tickets to Clay Aiken's Joyful Noise Concert in Baltimore this coming Saturday. Found someone on the Clay boards selling 2 tickets at cost. Much better than broker prices. I am dragging Norm to it. Actually I gave him a choice not to go and he decided that he would come along. So we are making a day of it, going to Inner Harbor and then the concert. I tried to talk him into going Sunday to Hershey to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra, but I was really pushing my luck to do that.

I would really liked to do Cookie night, but all the Southwest cheap flights were gone for Friday and Sat to get there. They were never even posted as available from the beginning. Bummer.

Of to bed I go.

I am watching the Amazing Race. Jonathan/Victoria need to go because of him. I really get stressed listening to how he yells at her all the time. I really thought he was going to hit her this past week and I dont see the older couple or the father/daughter winning due to age/shape. Other than that dont really care at this time who wins..

Forgot to ask if anyone watching Amazing Race?

I love the Amazing Race! I agree it is stressful to watch Jonathan and Victoria. I felt bad for the girl that had to unroll the hay for more than 8 hours and didn't find the clue.

I just dont understand why on the Amazing Race if they knew that this was an elimination round why they made her roll the hay for another 2 hours after the last team came in. I actually liked those 2 girls - they got along so well and didnt fight...

Arlene

That made me mad also! Couldn't believe they let her unroll 100 huge hay rolls for 8 hours only to be eliminated that long after the other teams finished. And I agree, just as in Survivor (my all time favorite and very disappointing this season), this go around of people are pretty bland, except for the few you love to hate!

I agree Jonathan and Victoria have to go, but watch and see they will probably be one of the last ones eliminated since it seems they are the couple everyone doesn't like. I guess it makes for good TV when you have someone so irritating.

I also felt so bad for the girls that were eliminated. What are the odds that you would roll out all that hay and not find the clue.
