Renee: We just got Kaleigh's first haircut in WDW this week. It came out so cute. We did wait a long time, but Tuesday was our last day. It was worth it. She looked so cute in her ears. Unfortunately, my little one is sick with a cold and double ear infections. Just started on ATB's last night.

It will be me (Denine)
DH (Jerry)
DD (Kaleigh, currently 2 years old)

Denine - You're going on the August Repo cruise too aren't you? Haven't seen you post over there in a while.

Hope your little one is feeling better.

Reneé

Folks,

I managed to squeeze in half an hour to write and mail another update - Check it out.

For the newbies: The List is by default sent as a Word-File, but if your 'puter has problems reading it, you may also get it as a PDF.
Simply take a $20-bill, write your request on it and send it to me:jester: Just kidding: Send me a short note, and from then on you'll get the PDF ;)

OK,
gotta catch some Zs now - Tomorrow another 21 charts of Amsterdam wait to be checked:eek:

I plan on coming back someday and thank you for your gracious offer!!! Like I said, the German people made me feel so welcomed as if I were a long lost relative!!! Ich liebe dich was one of the first phrases I learned after all the polite words of manners and decorum!! It always fitted!!!

Rae - I have to admire your ability to pack lite! It is something that we will never accomplish I'm afraid. We have a van and like Mike said since we have the room we tend to bring it!

Rained most of today so didn't get the leaves raked but am hoping to do so tomorrow since it's actually fairly warm here. We usually end up doing the last of the raking wearing winter coats and mittens. Not looking forward to this -- esp. with the change in time which will mean that I'll be coming home from work in the dark for the next few months.

Jim is not wearing his tie to cook but will have to wear it next Friday night since we have to go to a charity ball thingie. It's actually just an expensive dinner which luckily I don't have to pay for -- $250/person is way out of my price range. They have a silent auction too and it will be interesting to see what's up because each year they have lots of hockey tickets going but with the NHL lockout they aren't going to be able to auction those off. It's supports our local hospital so it's not too bad. Jim does have to wear his suit and tie though so he's not thrilled about it.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Fiona

I am still alive after having 6 11y/o boys spend the night. Even more amazing is that all 6 boys are also still alive:p Really, they were very well behaved. I think taking them roller skaking for 3 hours was a great idea, since they were pretty worn out by the time we got to the house. They were all asleep by midnight.

Eric, thanks for the new list. BTW...you mentioned spending a week in Panama City Beach before the next cruise! We will be thrilled to play tour guide again!

Hi Everyone, And welcome to the newbies. So glad to have you aBoard.
I've been trying to keep up with all that is new and exciting. Jim, love your franks and beans story..Bamm.

Things are slowly returning to normal for me and the family. Thank you again to all who sent condolences. It meant alot to us.

I've been trying to catch up with work, having missed a few days in the last 2 weeks. Worked 16 hours today, have to be back at 6AM tomorrow. But it keeps me from eating all the kids candy.:p

Eric, thanks for the new list! Did I read somewhere that you and Anja will be returning to PCB? Didn't the hurricanes, tornadoes, and biting flys, scare you off. It must be my "Poppyseed Chicken" :teeth: And maybe the dolphin?

Later, Avé

No way, Ave'!!
The only tough thing will be to get Anja into a canoe again :teeth: :hyper:

We Are Here Just Very Busy is all...

Clocked out this week with 32.5 hours of ot.... 72.5

So im just a bit Tired, But All Is Well.....

So Yesterday when I Showed up At The Constructiion site
Was Informed That The project Manager Was LET GO ( Fired)
And That The New project Manager Was Bringing in His own
People and This Would Be our last Week They Are Calling it a Transistion Week ,, This is Where We Get to Show The New people How To Do Our Job... and then we get 2 checks and sent on our Way...

The Reason .... Is that We cost To Much !!

The new people Are on salary and they will work them 70 +
hours a week for the Salary...

And not have To pay Them Overtime !!!

How ever this is a Prevailing Wage JOB....

The prevailing wage is the minimum hourly wage rate for certain classifications of labor performed on state and local public construction projects. The Department of Labor and Workforce Development issues the rates for each project and determines which rates apply to which classifications. Questions about the applicability of the prevailing wage rates should be directed to the Division of Occupational Safety at (617) 727-3492 or www.state.ma.us/dos/pages/pw.htm

I Will Not allow A Contractor To Get Away With Not Paying
The Rate To Employees.. This is The Number one Reason I Joined The Union is So That I Would No longer ... Have To Worry About Working For Less Than The State And Feds Allow..

I Was in Part Responsible For The Largest Contractor on The Big Dig in Boston, a 17.5 billion Dollar project..

Same Thing Was Going on None payment of the Rate To The Surveyors On Salary ..

to Get Them To Pay The Rate.. And Overtime..

If u Do Not Pay The Rate Set .. this Give A Company An Unfair Advantage When it comes To Bidding For Jobs...

Just Not RIGHT...

So This Week This Is What I Have To Go Threw
Looking At Loosing My Job To A Person Who is Willing To Work
For Less Than What They Deserve..... BY LAW

And We Get To Show Them How To Do It...

Peter

Thank God For Unemployment Insurance !!!

Hi Peter,

That totally stinks !!! I hope you can stick it to them good. Too bad you can't afford to leave and not show the replacements wht to do. But I understand that you do not cut off your nose despite your face... ( Yes Peter, you have a very nice face LOL LOL )

Good luck, and give em **LL !!!!

I am only fighting the ex boss for 3 weeks vacation not my job. Good luck to you, will try and call later..

Hugs to you and Jen,

Kim

Further update..

Since I Work for A Company That pays the Rate..
I Have Been Asked To Be Profesional About this matter !!!

In other Words Keep My Mouth Shut..

If I Am UNABLE TO DO THIS She (the owner) Will Move Me To another Project...

But Would Like Me .. Since I Am The Number 1 Surveyor on This Project Just Means I know The Job...

To Go to Work on Monday and Work This Week..
and Leave this project on Good Terms For the Company's sake

So That The Co. May have a chance At either returning to this project in Several Weeks When they Find out that they can not handle the work load or Getting Future work With this Co.

Also It Is Still Up in The Air As to Weather or Not By Contract We Can Be Let Go At This Point..

Also Several of the Employees That Work For The Construction
Co. That We have Be hired By Do Not Feel This is the Time For us To Be let Go and Are not Happy With the New project Managers Choices So It is An On Going Battle At this point...

THE owner has meetings With them on Monday...

Peter LOL

Congratulations on surviving the boys Mary. Good to see you posting Ave and tell Mark we said hello. Peter congratulations to your red sox. Welcome to all of the new cruisers joining us.

Stacey and Eric signed the paperwork on their house Thursday and we have been helping them get it ready to move in. We removed one of the days in their bedroom, framed it in a covered it with dry wall. Stacey mudded it last night and will paint and sand it today. They bought a little two bedroom one bath brick home that is about 100 yards from an elementary school and a 150 yards from the middle school that Katie will attend.

Hate switching from standard to daylight savings time and switching back. Leave the time alone at one or another. Mike

HAPPY HALLOWEEN to all my fellow DIS cruisers....Time to go Trick or Treating with the girls

 :jumping2:

Hello all!

Sorry I have not posted in ages, but I started a new job 3 weeks ago and training takes place 1 1/2 hours away. I have been hush hush on the job but thought that I would finally tell everyone the secret-it is surprisingly going well-didn't know if I would like it.

Welcome to all the newbies!

Talk soon

dan

Peter,

Sorry to hear about your job. That really stinks that they can do that to you guys. Hopefully something will turn up.

Have to go and give Haley a bath and get her ready for trick or treating.

Reneé

Congratulations Dan, and sorry about your job Peter. Remember Peter that you can always be the head server on board the Magic. Happy Halloween to all. Mike

Sorry about your job, Peter :(

Congratulations on your new job, Dan  Still in the restaurant-business?

I just finished Amsterdam, 23 charts total - Quite a strain, but after nearly 9 hours I was through. Even had to cancel our Badminton-court for today
And Anja's schedule for this week really sucks: Off on Monday (Which is great), but lateshift on Tuesday and Wednesday, and nightshift from Thursday til Saturday

Tomorrow we will have 'Fahrenheit 9/11' on TV. The DVD-shops are mad at Michael Moore, but he wanted to make sure that as many people as possible can see it before election day. Perhaps he thinks we can vote too:jester:

Sorry about the job Peter. But good to hear you standing up for your rights.

And Dan...What's you're new job????

My kids got to go Trick or Treating last night. Something they do here in the Bible Belt. Maybe other places too. When Halloween falls on a Sunday, it is celebrated on the Sat. before.
Charlie, did you get lots of pics of the kids dressed up?

Ok Eric, no canoe trip this time. I'll have to think of something even more fun.:jester: Has Anja ever been alligator hunting?
Papa, What did you do to Stacey's house, removed a day?:p
Congrats to all the Sox fans out there. The Babe is probably spinning.
