We got brunch for Thursday. Luckily it was midnight where I am when it came time to book.

(Unlike Cinderella's breakfast that I have had to get up at 4am to reserve...

Do you mean that you got up at 4am on the ship to reserve breakfast with Cinderella???????

Was is worth the effort????

Also, our group shrunk some... we are now final at 32 people. Believe it or not, no fewer than 4 couples in our group got pregnant and are consequently had to cancel!!!

In Germany we got a saying: 'Pregnancy is a contagious' ;)
It happened i.e. in my company: One coworker got pregnant, suddenly another one, then one more - and after a year we had more or less a complete turnover of all females in that department (Women in Germany usually leave for three years when they get a baby).

Steve,
if you want to add those 32 people I could send you a blank List.

Cinderella breakfast is in WDW so we were in California to make that reservation. I can't imagine ever getting up that early on the ship!!

(I see you are in PA, we are from PA originally - DH Milton and me Langhorne)

Thanks walczak4 and jeanniec for reassuring me about Palo. I think I may take your tip about brunch...if I can get it. DH has informed me that he wants to "dress up" as little as possible, but he loves king crab legs, so I may be able to talk him into that.

All this talk about getting up early has me thinking about my early dining rotation. Will I regret this? With 4 kids with us, I thought I should try to keep them on some type of schedule, but I'm beginning to think that it will be impossible...unless we all head to the room at 8pm. The early seating for the Character breakfast doesn't sound too appealing either. Should I switch to late dining? Is it possible to get DS11 and DS9 in bed before midnight? Any opinions?

We're at the bottom of page one
How can we get anything done!
It's back to the top again, this time
with a Corona in hand and a slice of lime!
We are getting closer, nearly time to board
with plenty of film, our trip we'll record!

Glad to hear it's not the ship. We are 45 minutes going west on I80 from Milton. My DH has been to Milton with his John Deere tractors for parades. I have never been to Langhorn though.

Curious as to how you ended up in CA??? My SIL lives in La Harbra Hts, CA.

I took a look at the Double Dip merchandise posted on another site. The tshirts are really cute. My understanding is the items are only available on the second CC day.

Because of this, there are people having them purchased by other cruisers and mailed to them so they can wear them on embarkation day.

Kind of like line jumpers aren't they? Think about the poor cruisers who won't be able to get their items due to being sold out on that day.

Maybe I am just thinking wrong?

Hey, guys! Just popping in to say that you can add another family to the list of Disers that'll be cruising with you. :cool1: Me, DH and DS (10). Can't wait to play a little catch up on this thread.

We have early dining and were in bed long before midnight. Too tired to stay up. We liked early dining and then going to the show afterwards.

Welcome VAgal76.

Fiona

Welcome aboard, VAGal76 :wave2:
You'll be cruising with the best ;)

I'm so glad I'm cruising with the best. :rotfl:

We did second seating and thought it was just too late for our liking and we eat late at home. You are being seated around 8 p.m. and dinner wasn't over for about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. I think I'm waitlisted for main dining. If you plan on doing excursions at port it may come in handy since you aren't rushed to get back onboard and get ready. We didn't stay in port as long as we thought we would. Second seating will work for older kids and partying younger ones. I didn't really see any toddlers in 2nd seating, but it doesn't mean they weren't around.

What does everyone plan on doing? I think we are going to stay on the ship when we go to Cozumel. We're cruising there next May and the only thing we want to do is that beach break so we're saving it to enjoy with the other crew we're bringing along with us.

Any ideas what to do in Costa Maya?

As you can tell, I'm just going so I can visit CC again. I'd be very happy to hang out there for a day or two non-stop sleeping on a hammock, but I'm afraid some creepy crawly things would get me. Look for me at Serenity Bay. DH and I plan on hanging out there much more this time. We just did our very first cruise back in June. I'm now hopelessly addicted to cruising. Poor DH. He thought I was just a regular WDW addict and now this. :rotfl2:

Welcome!

We're not planning much either. It's our first time to Cozumel, so we want to actually see the town/people. Of the 4 of us, I'm the only one that has been to Mexico before. We may take a taxi to one of the beaches and spend some time there, but we are not planning any excursions at this point.

As for Costa Maya, we're not sure about that either. My DDs are 4 & 8, and I don't see that they would enjoy visiting the local mayan Ruins, and I've heard/read mixed reviews on the Dolphin Swim excursion. We may try to get into the Chach Chi resort at Costa Maya, or maybe a trip into Majahaual. Otherwise it might be a day on the ship.

Anyway, once we are on the Ship, the only schedule I plan to keep is our Dinner seatings.... :teeth:

I wouldn't worry too much about that. DCL does tend to learn quickly when it comes to making merchandising adjustments.

From what I can tell the 1st DD group said some things sold out, but I'm guessing once DCL saw how popular the special DD merchandise was, they geared up and will most likely have plenty available.

We were on the Panama Canal cruise last May.
Word was that a few aggressive e-bayers bought up far more than their share of the special merchandise the first day it was available.
I had not even thought about hitting the shops that early in the cruise; with 14 days onboard, I figured I had plenty of time. :confused3
While we did not get our shirts to wear on the cruise (no biggie since I way overpacked anyway) DCL made sure we were all able to order what we wanted and they shipped it to us after the cruise.
Well, except for the limited edition pins, and we had to join the giant onboard slumber party for those... but that's a whole other story.
DCL even learned from that and made further adjustments for the Aug. cruisers.

Hopefully they'll get a good handle on the double dip stuff and no one will be disappointed.

As for the dining question...
That's a tough one. Some people are adamant about having one or the other, must be a reason.

We had late dining last cruise (youngest kiddos were 6 & 9) and we'll have it again in Oct.
Of course we didn't have a choice either time as early was full when we booked. :teeth:

Since we're working off a West Coast time difference when we cruise, late probably makes more sense for our internal clocks. The only time we had an issue was on Pirate night. We did feel a bit rushed then and we actually skipped out of dinner early since the kids wanted to be sure they didn't miss anything up on deck.

I don't know that there is a best choice. Seems they both have their positives and negatives.

New cruisers! They are abundant!
Back to page one, I know it's redundant!
On page two we're hard to find
I can't think of another rhyme, so never mind!

Michele.....aren't you a little busy with 2 kids & 2 dogs to be coming up with little poems to keep us on page 1? I think you & I need to get together at Ron Jon's Friday night for a cocktail or two. The men just don't appreciate all the hard work we have been doing planning this cruise! ;)

Tracey...I'll take you up on that cocktail! Pina Coladas all around! Whoo hooo!!!

As for the poems.there's really no thinking invovled!! They just come to me! One of neighbor's moved and we made a scrapbook of photos of the neighbors and I wrote a poem for the front of the book. It just came to me!

Happy Friday!

Almost 2 days with out a post?
that doesn't make us a very good host!
back to the top so people can see
who the other cruisers will be!

It's the end of the weekend, Tomorrow is Monday.
we don't even get a break with another Holiday!
So back to the top to start the work week
Don't look so gloomy it might not be bleak!
The sun is now shining, the rain went away
Check out the Disboards and have a great day!
