Hello Everyone...

Good to see some names that SSB still remembers from years back! :)

What sailing are you doing this year?

I only won a free ticket for a future draw so unfortunately you all still have to pay for your cruises!! Sorry about that.

Fiona

Hi SSB,
we're doing the Castaway Cay Double-Dip with stops at Cozumel and Costa Maya.
Wanna join us? You're welcome :grouphug:

Just some mindless chatter to keep us from page 2.

Sure has been a busy week here and it's only Tuesday evening.

Last night colored eggs with the grandkids.....always lots of fun and today Jenny and I attempted to make chocolate covered peanut butter eggs. We must of had old bags of chocolate melts; it didn't matter what we did the chocolate wouldn't melt right. What a mess we had, she even melted off the prongs to a plastic stick that went to a chocolate fondue pot. They taste good and we had lots of laughs so that is all that matters. Went to put flowers on family grave sites and then it was off to little league practice for the evening. Getting a house full of company for the weekend so, busy, busy, busy.

Don't know how I ever did everything while working because I sure am busy in retirement. :goodvibes

Later ~~

Diana,
Sounds like you and Jenny had fun! Chocolate can be very tricky sometimes! If you have even the smallest bit of water....say you washed something and didn't dry it completely, it can cause the chocolate to sieze on you! Then it gets all lumpy and wierd looking! I can see it, because I have been there! I LOVE chocolate covered Eggs! I should buy stock in Reeses just before Easter since I KNOW, I alone, make the stock go higher!

Another busy day here but the weather is going to be great again!! Time to get the boys to school!

Hi All :wave2:
Well I bit the bullet and bought airfare! I didn't want to pay Jet Blue's prices for the moment but I can always get credit if the price drops. It was important to get the times right! :thumbsup2
Another sunny day here :sunny:

Diana--- I have to admire that you were trying to even make peanut butter eggs. I'm with Michele in loving those Reese's peanut butter eggs, though I haven't had one yet this year. I have no idea what we are doing for Easter yet. My son's never let you know their schedule until the last minute.

Sally-- I am still holding out for good rates with either SWA or AirTran. Air Tran just released their mid Oct schedule, but not cheap enough for me yet.

It is to be in the 70's again today, to bad I am stuck inside working.

Nancy

Michele ~ Thanks for the chocolate hint ~ I'll remember it for next year.
I also made coconut cream and cherry eggs. After spending all those hours trying to make perfect looking chocolate covered eggs my DH asked me last night if I made any plain chocolate bunnies. Go figure......but we know each other way to well....I also made plenty of those plain little critters.

Nancy ~ Thanks for the encouragement. Where do you usually fly out of down there?

I stayed up until 1am last night thinking I might catch a good airfare, (I read somewhere at midnight on Tuesday's they post new fares), but no luck. The fares keep going up and the flight home time keeps going further and further into the day. Keeping my fingers crossed the fares will come down soon. This is the first I have tried to book my own fare. It driving me nuts!!!

Wow... that sounds wicked cool. How long is the cruise?

A week, but DW and I will tour FLA for three weeks before the cruise.

Diana,

I know how frustrating it is to book airfares....I've been doing it all week for DH and the kids. It seems they go up minute to minute. Several times in the past few days I had to just "bite the bullet" but it really hurts!
We already have our flights for October, but they're with Delta and I'm holding my breath a little with those. We got them a few months ago and they were fairly decent: about $170 ea. roundtrip and the times were perfect. We should arrive in Orlando about 8:30 pm and since the flights are direct, John won't have to miss a day of work. When do you intend to arrive and what are your plans?

I know it's not the right forum, but I was sorry to see Bucky go last night!

Diana--- We usually fly out of Baltimore which is only a 1 hour drive for us. Southwest and AirTran both fly out of there. Harrisburg has terrible rates and no direct flights. I know that going to Philly or Baltimore is a 4 hr drive for you, but even with the drive it may be cheaper than flying out of Williamsport plus you could get a direct flight. Southwest should soon be putting there Mid Oct rates out. Air Tran does have theirs out, but not marked down yet. Depending on the lay overs it might end up being a shorter trip driving to one of the larger airports.

Jeanne- I am not emotionally attached to any of them this year, so I don't care who leaves or who wins.

Nancy

Jeanne,
over here USAirways has vanished from all booking sites, but Delta shows up as first choice on all sites I checked the last two weeks. As I will book through a German travel agency there won't be a problem if the airline goes bust as in Germany all travel agencies have to carry mandatory insurance against that. We'll probably fly Delta or Virgin. Delta has the better flights timewise for our needs. They call up €630/$770 per person for return tickets Frankfurt-Orlando.

We, too, booked flights with Delta about a month or so ago. Our tickets were less then $200....$180 something I think. I am hoping that Delta will stick around through October. If we have to get new tickets and they are going to be $$$$, then we might end up driving. I guess we'll have to wait until September to find out for sure!

Don't care for Bucky, so I wasn't too sad to see him leave. I think Mandissa should still be there though.

Happy Easter from Germany

Yesterday Anja's Granny sent us a package with treats and Easter ornaments as a surprise gift.

That's very interesting, Eric. Over here, all indications are that USAirways are back on their feet, especially now that they have merged with AmericaWest. The problem with Delta is that upper management continually wants to stick it to the little guy, but is unwilling to make any concessions themselves. The salaries they are receiving are truly obscene. I realize that if the pilots strike, they will not be able to recover, but I have to admit that I see very clearly what's provoking their frustration and can't really blame them.

Speaking of planes (ha-ha), I posted this on the Starwars thread, but no one responded to me.....is anyone else excited about "Snakes on a Plane?" Eric, Jim, anyone? I just realized I'm going to be in PA when it opens....maybe I can drag Nancy with me to see it! There's a great link that shows a whole bunch of amateur, phony trailers and they are hysterical! I will try to post it if you like.

OMG, I just mentioned the Starwars thread......sometimes I forget what home I'm at!
