We also had Ancell as a server found him Just ok..

thanks for the pictures..

Peter

My feelings about Ancelle too. Too often mentioned the "excellent" thing. Stoyan on the other hand was excellent - he is already a server but is waiting for a spot.
Wendy

Nancy: don't complain....at least you're eating lunch! No midday meal for me today. John and I are back on the South Beach diet again. I gained a horrible amount of weight this year (probably due to the dreaded M-word!) The first 2 weeks of SBD are just like Atkins so I feel totally deprived right now. No carbs for 2 weeks and then we can begin to introduce the good ones. We have our euchre party this weekend so that will be hard. Every couple has to bring an appetizer or dessert and they're usually most yummy. No alcohol either so that's an extra bummer (I liked that huge drink you got at Mizners, Wendy....was it a Cosmo?) I exercise alot but I think i need to change for routine for it to do any good. I just added swimming 20 laps a day.....if you can call it that! My swimming makes my golf game look good!
Guess I won't be able to jump into watching Lost.....too far ahead in the season. That's OK, I'm recently hooked on Sudoku......it is taking all my TV time!

Peter and Nancy - I have sent the link for the photos. I would have loved to do the Chef's table but you don't get the DDE 20% off there and being a typical Aberdonian the discount was too great to miss!
We did the F&W last year - what fun we had!
Wendy
Wendy,
I'm shocked: I just read on AOL's list of the 10 most common misconceptions, that Scotch people aren't thrifty (Although I must admit that we have lots of jokes about Scots in that regard on the continent ;) )
But now YOU say that the typical Aberdonian can't miss a chance to save some Dollars/Pounds/Euros :confused3

Folks,
i just got word from Dave & Ellen (CheesePlease). I wrote them to inquire wether they would stay with us or wether they also switched. Their answer is

YES, WE'LL STAY WITH YOU  :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :bounce:

Yipee! Dave and Ellen are staying!

Jenn and Tracy: you are going to LOVE V&A's.......just make sure you don't eat much before cuz you will be stuffed beyond belief!

Hooray! Dave and Ellen are cruising with us!

By the way, for those who are watching Lost for the first time this summer, it is difficult to understand at first and even at the cliffhanger ending last season. But, it is my favorite TV program. There are many theories as to what is actually taking place on the island and a couple of websites that might be helpful to you. And -- without the flashbacks, no one would understand anything. Can't wait until the season premiere this fall.

Jeanne - the drink at Mizners was a watermelon tini - oh it was good! You and John are so good going on a diet - I just cannot manage it, Atkins would kill me. Once I start back at school the stress will cause me to lose some weight. And the 5 flights of stairs up to me lab helps!
Now this Sudoko I cnanot get at all - my brain does not work that way!
I am very thrifty and love to get a bargain though I usually end up spending more. With the DDE card I probably ended up going to fancier restaurants and drinking more alcohol than normal!

A) What's a DDE card?
B) You can accompany us to the gym or join us for a leisurly 5mile-run (20 laps) on Deck 4- That's only 40-45minutes, but the food tastes much better after it, believe me!!.
We ate a lot while on the ship but always managed to keep our weight.

Nearly forgot to mention: If Doreen really is into speed she shouldn't do something lame as Richard Petty: A German Autobahn is much more fun to drive and the cars aren't governed at 150mph :rotfl2: OK, our convertible only does 130-135mph, but sometimes I even drive at that speed on my way to work. Usually I just cruise at 80-100mph, but sometimes I just feel that need for speed - Usually when Anja's not with me as she doen't like it. Fortunately we just got a new convertible which is extremely quiet at high speed and so she doesn't feel the speed. And as the car is not yet broken in fully I haven't exceeded 100mph so far, It just has about 1000miles on the odo after four weeks and I won't push the pedal to the metal before 3000km (1875mls) and an oil-change.
BTW, perhaps you know our car as it very popular in the UK as well: We have a Renault Megane Coupe Cabriolet. I'm even a member of an Internet Owners Club for that car in the UK.
We even have travel groups from Japan coming over for a run on the Autobahn in Porsches or beefed up Beemers.

Ha-ha, Mum may do fine on the Autobahn, but Wendy shares "something" in common with Anja!

Glad to hear that Dave and Ellen are still going to be cruisng with us.

The girl who works with me is doing a form of the South Beach Diet and has lost over 40 pounds since Feb. I am a live time member of Weight Watcher and have been off and on the wagon for years. Since I lost 70 pounds over 3 years ago I have to work very hard to keep the weight off. I have a certain weight that I won't go over, because I then start to cut back and increase my exercise routine. I always say losing the weight is not the problem it is keeping it off. I've been trying to vary my exercise routine also. For all the time I spend in the gym I should look like Anja.

Enjoyed the pictures Wendy. I love that DDE card and do agree you tend to go to the fancier restaurants and drinking more alcohol than normal because you are saving money.

Does anyone else get the Allears newsletters via email. There was a great article a week ago about why having an annual pass costs you more money. Because you keep going back to get in more trips.

Jean--- Yes if you didn't have the flashbacks none of this would make sense on lost. I will have to read the recaps for the 2 episodes I missed so I know about those people.

Just got paged so got to go back to work.

Nancy

DDE is Disney Dining Experience. You buy this card and then get 20% at most restrauants and some food courts. As a DVC member I only paid $50, I think the normal price is $75.

Now must really go to work.

Nancy

I believe you can only purchase it if you have an annual pass. Otherwise we would definitely have gotten one!

Yes, Jeanne, and I still share that - for the rest of you I don't drive. I failed my test twice and the lessons were making me so ill that I haven't gone back to it. Yes I know it is stupid but I manage perfectly well. Get to work by public transport and as well as my own personal taxi driver (aka as Doreen!) I have wonderful friends.
Not sure of the autobahn Eric - mum loves to be driven fast but doesn't tend to drive fast herself! Our own car is small - a vauxhall corsa. The funny thing is the car you have is the one I always fancied myself!
The DDE is the disney dining experience card. If you have an annual pass you can get it for $50 and it gives you 20% of all table service restaurants and lounges. I agree that the annual pass probably costs me more than it saves!
As for the gym and running round deck 4 - for some reason I never have room to pack my running shoes!
Wendy

Thanks, Eric, I just printed out the chart and it is awesome, although there are some references I don't recognize, e.g., Poberezny? Ha-ha, does this also mean I can plug in the coordinates and know the location of HF's home?!? I'd ask you to do one on Johnny Depp, but I don't think I'll be able to make it to France!

OK, it's almost 3:30 and I haven't done a decent amount of work today....too much internet. I hope my boss doesn't fire me :rotfl2:

No problem, Wendy: There's a nice factory outlet at Orlando where you can get good running shoes at a price, that makes even an Aberdonian happy :teeth:
We had the first Corsa, in Germany of course an Opel, not a Vauxhall, but the same car. I drove it from 88-96, then bought an Astra Convertible, which we drove until '02. Then we had the Peugeot 206 CC, which we traded for teh Megane in July.
Im the driver in our family also, as Anja doesn't have a license. She never tried to get one although I've been nagging for 16 years now. So I have to get up at 6am every other weekend to shuttle her to the hospital or pick her up at 11pm after the lateshift. But I guess I wouldn't be the best passenger anyway and so it may be better this way ;)
BTW:
Do you know why womens' life expectancy is 5 years higher than mens'?
Because the time they spend parallel parking the car doesn't count :rotfl2:

OK, have to retire now, we've been working out for the last five days in a row with the toughest workout today and as I want to be at the office between 6 and 7am. Anja has a day off tomorrow, so it's especially hard to get up that early, but I want to leave at 2pm and so I have to be there early. I 'wasted' a lot of time in meetings today and now my in-basket is spilling over.
And on Saturday we're having our 12th Anniversary :cheer2:

Hello all! Just a quick HI! as I am getting dinner ready. I have a few minutes to breath since Daisy is in her crate! We went and picked her up on Tuesday and since I have to watch her...and the boys....like a hawk, I have had little time for anything else! The boys mean well, and are really trying to be responsible, but right now, as the saying goes, I have too many cooks in the kitchen. I think it's just confusing her right now. She is really VERY good though! She will come and lie right at my feet. Which is good, but not when I am trying to make dinner! So, while I cook and then eat and clean up, she goes in the crate, which she HATES! It will get better! Okay, I am only about 10 pages behind now, so I will try and read those later. Here is a photo from when we got home the other day.......
