Just say NO to BOTOX! Yes, I was just kidding. I do not plan on paralyzing my facial muscles anytime soon.:p IF I go to Ft. Laudadale I plan on resting by the pool, making dinner reservations, and checking out the room service menu, while my Doc slaves over wrinkled faces. ;) I think we will be staying at the Hilton in Boca Raton.
Got our confirmation for the Eco-Tour. :bounce:
Won't be long now!

Later, Avé

I just finished our LOGO shirts and they look great! (If I do say so myself):hyper:

Ave, glad to hear you will not be allowing anyone to inject toxins into your face!:earseek:

I have spent a little time looking at some other "meet" threads and I must say, that we have a fantastic bunch of cruisers on this one!Lots of fun conversation, lots of planned activities, and of course the logos, lists and pre-cruise meets!

Cathy, don't remind me about the birth certificate! I felt like I had just been punched in the gut by Mike Tyson! I have already made copies of all the BC (and double checked them:p ) before putting them in my cruise paperwork.

Either I missed the equestrian events of they were not televised.:(

Mary,
I saw on another thread that there are a lot of people complaining about the TV-coverage of the Olympics in the US, because obviously your TV-stations have the motto 'If there are no chances for Americans winning medals, we won't show it'.
Our stations over here put about half their broadcasting time onto our athletes, but use the remaining half to cover everything else to give the people a broader view. IMHO that's what Olympics are for.

Cathy -- funny you should mention that as this weekend I'm putting all the paperwork we have for the cruise and vacation together so that it doesn't get lost. I know where the passports are though. Good thing too as here to get a birth certificate at the moment is taking months, literally. Nobody is quite sure why but the wait time has gone from like 10 days to in some cases 10 months!!

The Olympic coverage here is pretty uneven although with fewer athletes competing Canadian TV does tend to show other than Cdns although that is the focus.

We are leaving a month from Sunday yeah!!!

Fiona

Thanks for the reminder about the birth certificates/passports - I need to make my copies:)

I have tried to watch most of the Olympics but I'm staying up way past my bedtime:p I think the US coverage has been lousy!

I started my shirts, did the transfers now I have to find some shirts:)

How many weeks vacation are you taking Eric? we have a hard time taking more than 7 days in a row:( what major cities are you touring?

Maryellen,
we're taking four weeks. The only major city we're touring is Charleston, but I guess we'll also do some sightseeing in St. Augustine. We already did a week in London in April and ten days at the Baltic Sea in June. After Florida/Cruise Anja's vacation days are used up, but I still have two left.
We'll depart for the States on 09/11 and return on 10/10, but will start work again at 10/12, to work off that jet/lag and do grocery shopping. We'll empty our fridge and freezer before the vacation - There's no use in having it run for more than four weeks without anybody using it, so we'll have to stock it up completely after our return. The only device still connected to mains in our appartment will be the VCR recording our favourite shows. Fortunately I belong to the extremely small minority being able to program a VCR - often even without a manual. My brain must be as twisted as that of the manufacturers.;) :p

Another reminder ... Start getting your quarters together if you plan on doing any laundry on the ship. (Mike, bailed me out of this one last year ... Thanks Mike!) Also if you are driving you may need change for tolls.

:earseek: We interrupt this daydream for WORK ..........

Ooops,
there something bad going on in the Caribbean - Check out this link: Tropical Storm Frances
This little bugger is heading towards our destinations
Keep you fingers crossed that she disipates before causing any harm, as she could also threaten our friends in Florida or in the Carolinas.

Okay so I'm totally bored at work...what else is new..so I started playing with my profile(oh baby..) and changed my avatar..so heres the test...

Still cant wait to see all you people new and old....Anybdoy here from padisney?

Arlene

Arlene,
I wish I could be bored at work - we're still drowning in it. I don't envy my partner for the four weeks he'll be alone when I'm gone. But I won't waste a thought on him while on vacation :teeth:

I'm joining you for parasailing! I sorry I won't have my kids for moral support, so you guys are going to have to pitch in for them.
Does this mean I'll have to go alone? I was planning to go tandem with one of my daughters during the last cruise but we got cancelled due to high winds. I'm afraid that if I go with a stranger and lose my lunch (among other things....!) they might not be so forgiving! I remember the time I braved Summit Plummit at Blizzard Beach.......I was so nervous that I took lots of Immodium "just in case"....... I survived just fine but was you-know-what for days later!

Arlene: I've been pm'ing Nancy........she has been a little bit under the weather, but seems to be coming around. I know she really wants to do this cruise, so we need to send lots of prayers and pixie dust her way.

Yabadabadoooooh,
our girls just won the GOLD in the Olympic Hockey Tournament:cheer2: :thewave: :cheer2:

It must be getting close, our TA called and our cruise docs arrived today!

:Pinkbounc :jumping1: :bounce:

Got my tranfers done, still have to get the t-shirts. :(
jeanneg...You go girl!!! I'll be there to cheer you on!
Keeping an eye on the tropics, too early to get worried yet.

Got to run, stuff to do...;)

Avé

BigRed1....your the 1st to get your docs!!!CONGRATS!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

jeanneg...good for you! I have a hard time with heights, but LOVE fast rollercoasters:confused: (go figure!) I am ok with high rollercoasters as long as they keep moving. I think my trouble comes in when I am standing still:earseek:

Nancy...we are thinking about ya!

Congratulations! Get to watch the USA Men's basketball team choke again today. I love basketball, but can't stand those prima donna NBA players... to good to stay in the Olympic village. That game the NBA calls basketball is a joke.
Give me a good college women's ball game any day...those girls know there is no "I" in team!

I've only been to the English Riviera so far: Torbay at the Channel coast.
But after having seen a lot of PCB on thye Web and in some info broschures they sent us, we're definitely looking forward to it ::yes::

Doing Happy Dance #1: Our air and teh car voucher have arrived. We'll pick them up tomorrow on the way to the Museumsuferfest:cheer2: :thewave: :rockband: :drinking1
And the best: We'll arrive 30 minutes earlier in MCO than originally scheduled:bounce: :Pinkbounc Doesn't sound much, but makes a big difference as we'll have another 2.5 hours of driving ahead of us then.

We may have had this discussion before, but are any of the ladies choosing comfort over glamour for formal/semiformal night? I have a long formal dress that travels very nicely, but if I take that I'll have to take another pair of shoes and some more accessories. Last cruise I wore the same basic outfit for formal, semi-formal and Palo night with just a few accessory changes and I was so comfortable. It really helped towards packing light as well. Anybody else out there willing to forego the glitz?
