Hi Everyone--- We are back from our 2 week vacation. Our family cruise on the Navigator of the Sea was wonderful. We had connecting promenade staterooms so Norm and I and then our 2 sons could each have our own space. The Promendade staterooms are unique to the Voyager class ships as you have an internior room with a window that looks out on the Promendade deck. You have a window to watch everyone shopping and we could watch the parades and other events from our room. They had really great shops on this ship and I spend much more money then I normally do on a cruise. Norm and I enjoy the Magic and Wonder, but we both fell in love with this ship. Even though it was full ship with 3500 people you never felt crowded. This ship is so big we felt we were more in a hotel than a cruise ship. We never made it up to the top deck that had the rock climbing, mini golf and in line skating area. The adult pool area was huge and had plenty of chairs. Plus there gym was big had all the latest equipment and you never had to wait for any equipment even on sea days. Norm and I went up everyday to work off all those exra calories. My young adult sons enjoyed this cruise more than anyother cruise they have taken. We talked to people who had children in the kids clubs and everyone said that their kids had a great time. The entire back area on one of the decks ( I think Deck 12) is just for kids. It has all sort of outside activites set up for the kids that they can use at any time. Mariner of the Sea and Navigator of the Sea are sister ships and both laid out the same with changes that were made from the Voyager, Adventure and Explorer of the Sea. This class of ship for
Royal Caribbean is very popular, but still is cheaper than the
Disney cruise. Though I use my DVC points for my Magic cruises. Had I know we were going to enjoy the Navigator this much, I would have booked back to back for Norm and I and not gone up to WDW for the 2nd week.
Ave-- Sorry we missed you at WDW. We didn't get to WDW until after 4pm and then had to do laundry. The only down thing on the Navigator is no public washers. We did catch Paul Revere on Sunday and then went back to see 2 shows on Tuesday. He was terrific and each show was a little different. We saw Arlo Guntherie on Wed and his was not as good of a show.
We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter. This is our favorite resort other than Old Key West (our DVC home). Parks were busy on the weekend, but much more managable after Monday. I just love the flower displays at Epcot. The Flower and Garden show is one of my favorite things at Disney.
Eric--- Enjoyed the website. I really thought it was for real until I went into it.
Today is DS#2 birthday so we took him out for dinner tonight. I no longer have teenagers. He turned 20 today.
Well, off to bed for me
