Hello all:

Just wanted to stop by and say hello! Hope everyone is having a great Holiday weekend!

Take care and miss you guys!

Dan

Hi Dan,
congrats on snatching post #2600 ;) Good to hear from you ::yes:: Please send our best to Scott, Nate & Missy :wave2:

Anja & Eric

We spent this afternoon with friends of us, two couples with two sons each: 1, 3, 3 and 5 years old  I think my eardrums nearly popped. They're cute and fun, and it is great to play with them - But it's even greater being able to hand them back after a while ;)
And we watched the Formula One Race on the Nürburgring. Schumacher won again, his sixth victory in the seventh race. In two weeks they will race in Canada, which places the race at prime time for us - And gives us enough time to drive home from the Baltic Sea, cast our vote for the Europen Parliament and watch the race.

Quick question on the DIS tee-shirts-- is there a particular color? Does the pending logo go on the front or back?

If this has already been asked and answered, just point me to the appropriate post. Believe it or not, still have not read through all 174 pages LOL!!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend and a speical THANK YOU to all of our past, present and future veterans

you just got me big time, Eric! My sister is here visiting and while we were waiting for my license to download we were planning to look up old boyfriends and check out what they looked like today!

The sad thing is, if you ever saw my real license, you'd have to agree the chimp is an improvement!

I'm glad that I brightened your dull lifes with that license-link :jester: But I must admit that I fell for it too when I first read about it ::yes::

No special colour for the Tees so far. Last times we had white shirts and I think we should stay with it. If we choose a colour -say blue- we'll end up with at least 20 different shades of it, which won't make a nice picture.

Tees should be white as they are the easiest to find in various sizes. After the holiday I will get with Cathy and we will get the logo finished. Most people put it on the front. The logo will be emailed to everyone on the list for them to print it out on tee shirt transfer paper to be ironed on by themselves to avoid any copyright violations.

The tropical Mickey came from the front of the box we received last year from dreams as our group gift.

Mike

PS Happy memorial day to everyone

Eric -- Had to laugh about your description about kids. The last time we went up to my DB and DSIL's house I felt the same. I love my niece (4 end of Sept) and nephew (2 in August) dearly but this last dinner was amazing as they were both standing on thier chairs/highchair. My niece talked the entire time and my nephew ended up covered in mashed potatoes. The entire time I kept thinking, been there, done that, so thankful I'm not in the middle of it and oh boy what are they going to do with the 3rd child arriving in July!

My teenager can be a challenge but he does feed himself (although he can empty the fridge), dress himself (although he has a tendancy to leave clothes all other the place) and doesn't talk at mealtimes (unless you consider grunts in answer to questions talking). :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Fiona

Jeanniec -- I wish I could say that Skydome (where the Jays play) is packed but it's not. Toronto is more of a Hockey town with the Maple Leafs. The Skydome is also huge though, holding around 50,000 people so it's hard to fill although we were at a game last year that had 47,000 people at it as it was a special promotion and all tickets were $1. During the week the usual crowd is around 15-16,000 and on the weekends it really varies. Saturday there were 30,000 and on Sunday it was 22,000.

Since we play in the same division as Boston and New York we have a tough time placing above 3rd but one of these years we will.

Fiona

OK,
white it is ::yes::
Looking forward to getting the logo, Mike & Cathy.
I guess we'll have ours made in a shop this time. I wasn't quite satisfied with the iron-ons last time. A co-worker found a great shop, where they do it at reasonable prices. We'll get about 40 shirts from them in two weeks and if the quality is OK, I think I will have ours printed there. Our company's running team will compete in the J.P. Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge on 06/16/04 and it is a custom that every team has its own shirts. Corporate identity, Ya know ;) It's a 3.5mile-race through downtown Frankfurt with 40,000+ runners. Last year they had 42,000, and they're expecting to beat that number this year. It is so crowded that you usually can't run the first mile or so, but have to walk. Normally Anja and I would do the 3.5 miles in about 24 minutes, but due to the crowds and the necessary zig-zagging required to pass all the slowpokes we expect something in the range of 28 minutes. But it's just for the fun, and afterwards we usually replace the lost sweat and the burned calories in a steakhouse :drinking1

I just finished preparing our tax-report: We'll get a refund of €570 ($680) :thewave: I'll file it with our IRS on Wednesday and then hopefully the refund will be in our account well before the US/Caribbean-vacation - Paying for some extra cocktails and souvenirs :teeth:

Since we play in the same division as Boston and New York

It's actually quite interesting to see what happens to the crowd when Boston and New York are in town.

The Yankees clearly draw a lot of fans from upstate New York/Buffalo area because you can hear the difference in the tonal qualities of the voices. Plus they're wearing their NY caps, Yankee jackets and jerseys, but they walk around like they own da joynt with a Bud in each hand.

Red Sox games get seem to get quite a number of New Englanders, who also wear their Sox caps, jackets and jerseys, but they walk around mostly commenting on how cheap the tickets are and how cheap everything is, and they just can't believe that they got seats to see the Sox. They also seem to be a fair bit more polite than the Yankees crowd, and are more than willing to comment on any alleged parentage of the Yankees and Georgie S. At one time I thought it was just sports rivalry, but I'm getting the impression it's a lot more than that. :)

Nothing like a baseball game to see the True Colours.

Jim.

Hi Cathy,

Just an FYI to let you know a package is on the way for you. I believe that this " package" will be quite beneficial to you when we are at Castaway Cay...

Eric and everyone that's interested,

There is a place called zazzle.com that you can upload your own image to and they make the shirts for you. A bunch of us are doing that for the CA to FL cruise, and I'm thinking of doing it for our cruise also. Verandahman made his shirt and said it came out pretty good. I already uploaded my pic for the CA to FL cruise, and it seems to have come out ok. I'm just not going to order it yet since I have so much time.

Anyway, this is just a thought in case someone wants an alternative to making the shirts themselves.

Reneé

Renee--- Thanks for the zazzle website. My t shirts turned out ok when I did them, but did not hold up well in the wash. So this looks like a better alternative and not very expensive.

Mary--- I asked my sons if they saw an age restriction at the rock climbing and they didn't. However, you will need to sign a waiver everytime they do it. It was very windy on our sea days so Norm and I never went up to the sports deck. My sons said it was so funny trying to play mini golf with all the wind. The 9 hole course was a real challenge. Since the Mariner of the Sea is right at Port Canaveral, it would be as close as the Magic for you. We had orginally planned to go on the Mariner but when we booked our cruise in November 2003 the Mariner only had suites left. With the Magic gone next summer, I'm betting that the Mariner will even be sold out faster next year. I'm sure your family would have a great time on one of the Voyager class ships.

Peter--- Sounds like you had a great time in NYC. My last trip a number of years ago was such a diaster, that I will never get Norm back to there. However, I would be willing to go on a bus trip sometime to see Broadway Play. Had I know Jen was going to be at the Today show, I would have watched it this morning.

Fionna and Jim--- Being Orioles fans, we know how the Yankee fans are. The Red Sox fans are usually much more pleasant when they come to Camden Yard. In our area you are either Oriole or Phillie fans.

Hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day. Sat and Sun the weather was great, but rainy today. However, Norm and I were able to put down new outdoor carpet on our patio on Sunday and get the summer furniture out. To bad it was so cold and rainy today that we couldn't enjoy sitting out there. Oh well, we have the rest of the summer to enjoy it.

Well, tomorrow will be my first day back to work in over 2 weeks. However, only 4 working days so should be able to handle that.

Later everyone,

Nancy

Bye, Kim

Secret weapon trades going on, Huh?

Pter: too bad you didnt let us know you were coming. It would have been good to see you guys...

Just a little FYI - even the Met fans think the Yankee fans are arrogant and rude. Can you imagine when the mets and yankees play each other-not a pretty site.

Arlene

The T-shirt idea is a good one. I have to think about it for a bit, as it would be about 2X the cost. $60. vs 30.

Peter and Jen, glad you had fun in NY!I tried to get tickets for Loin King when I was there last year, but it is sold out weeks (months?) in advance.

I looked at prices for a Royal Carribean cruise in Oct 2005 and the prices are very good. A cabin with balcony for 2 adults and 2 kids was only 2,200.About 1,800 for an inside cabin.

Thanks for the info Nancy, I will look further into the rock wall thing.

I just noticed, Eric's countdown clock is almost at 100 days!!!

Time to get to work!

Arlo,

Was a last minute thing....

As we will Be going Back ....Not sure as of yet But would like to see
Another show....

Also we are going to try to do the Philly trip.
When Southwest starts There new service from Manchester Nh. To Philly.. advertised price is $29.00 each Way..

for that we would have to rent a car as we would love to make it to Gettysburrg Pa. ....................
