Hi Everyone. Wow! This is a busy thread!

I (40), dh (37), dd (almost 13), & ds (10) will all be onboard 10/2/04. We just cannot wait! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We're celebrating our 16th anniversary (we're reserving Palo for dinner), & dd's 13th b-day on the ship.

This is our 2nd cruise, the first being Sept 7, '02.

This is my first "meet" on the DIS. Do we really find friends here & meet you on the ship? Do people get together prior to sailing? We were originally going with another family (kids the same ages), but he lost his job recently, and they can't justify the expense right now. (Hopefully, that can change very soon & they'll change their minds!) We're disappointed--we were really looking forward to sharing the trip with someone we know.

I'm really glad I found DISboards. I've gotten some really great ideas. I only wish I knew of it in '02! Thanks for the great advice!

Welcome. Hope you enjoy the boards as much as I do. I am celebrating my 13th birthday on the cruise too.:teeth: I would love to hang out with your dd on the cruise. If she is interested PM me and I will send you my e-mail address. ::MinnieMo :Pinkbounc ::MickeyMo

Hi Sharon,

If you go to this web site www.godfreytoursvi.com
you can see the agency that we hope to book with ( if we get 20 people). We will customize the tour to see the parts of the island that the majority are interested in seeing. We will end the day with shopping , however we can add a couple earlier returns to the ship if someone wants to take a break. I think that your girls would have a nice time also. All the people who have already signed up are all great people. Mary Jo has a daughter 13 coming on the tour... If you have any other ??? just ask.

Bye, Kim

Kim, sign us up. One last question: will there be time to take dd 6 back to ship before shopping, she may be a bit done by then.

Welcome Zapp1213, Our first cruise was Sept 2002, then Sept 2003, now going Oct 2004. Since DH birthday is 9 /21, DS birthday is 9/22 and DD birthday is 9/30, this has always been a "birthday cruise " for us. DD will be 14 on this trip.
This is truely a great group of folks to cruise with. And we have almost as much fun planning the trip as we do enjoying the trip itself.
So sorry about your friends having to back out. I know it's a disappointment to you and your family. But maybe getting together with this crazy group will help.

Again, Welcome aBoard!:smooth:

Later, Ave'

My dd birthday is 9/22 as well. Too cool!!

ZAPP1213 - WELCOME. I've only recently joined this board myself, and boy am I hooked. This is one terrific group of people. Only Disney itself could make you feel more welcomed.

Looking forward to meeting you and enjoying our cruise.

Hi Peter, I saw that add, but the fine print said it does not start until July 6th... I had that same thought, that we could fly down at the last minute... You might want to check it out...

Bye, Kim

Jenn and Peter...Philadelphia is approx. 2 hours and 15 minutes from Gettysburg...you could get the PA turnpike right at Philadelphia and then take that all the way towards Harrisburg..not a bad drive and the cost of the flight would be way cheaper than the price of gas these days...there is a civil war museum in Harrisburg, the Eisenhower farm in Gettysburg and of course, the battlefield and you are still close to Lancaster so you could swing over to see the Amish and have a great dinner in Lancaster...this is a beautiful spot in Pennsylvania. If you let us know ahead of time (and we're not on vacation..2 weeks in August) we could meet you down there since we love this area (especially Lancaster). Let us know.

We are extemely busy at work lately..we had a very large OB/GYN doctors group which strictly worked at a competing hospital..long story short, they decided that they liked our facility (we actually never had OB/GYN until a few years ago and we built a state of the art unit and NICU unit) and philosophy better so they are joing our healthcare organization and bringing all of their business here...great coup for our hospital but means busy for our department since we are in charge of all building projects and we will have about 5 building projects going on at the same time...Lots of fun for the next year!!

ciadriamom...CONGRATULATIONS on the gradution...you must be so proud!! I always admire people who go back to school while working and raising a family..I admire you!! My dd is 14 and we are going on the St. Thomas tour...I will pm your daughter and she can email Sarah...just tell her to put Disney cruise on the email so Sarah will open it!! Where is Lakewood near in NJ? Gotta run....have a great weekend! Mary Jo

Andy and I are possibly going to be in the Lancaster area on july 4th weekend but unfortunetely there seriously wont be time to meet up with anybody since my brother from florida will be visiting and I would like to spend some quality time with him and his family. Just in case though let me know whats going on so that if I need to get away from them I will have a great out. I would truly love to hook up with you guys and spend time also.

ciadriamom:

One of my accounts is in nj - sylvan learning systems It seems that everyone who works there lives in lakewood. Do they own that town-another stepford village perhaps???

No mail from Zapp1213, so no update this weekend. I won't have time tomorrow as we will go to a birthday-party. Anja has to work tomorrow, which makes it the third weekend in a row. She was supposed to have a weekend off, but four other nurses called in sick. Tomorrow is our Labour Day, unfortunately on a Saturday  And additionally it is a very special day for us Europeans:
10 more countries will join the European Union tomorrow, which brings the number of countries to 25 and the population to 450 million. No more borders from the Atlantic Ocean to the Russian border, plenty of business-opportunities, and most important: Lasting peace and freedom. And a big part of it is based on the help the USA gave us for more than five decades.
We'll have big fests (Celebrations) all over Europe during the weekend, especially in the new member-states, but also in the old ones.

We just watched 'Kill Bill Vol 1' :scared1: I've never seen more blood shed in less than 2 hours  , but nevertheless it is a fascinating movie. I don't think that I can wait til Sep 9 for the DVD of the Vol 2, I have to go to the next cinema - soon.

Talking about movies: I borrowed the first 5 seasons of 'Sex and the City' on DVD from a friend. As it is an international edition it carries age-ratings for the different markets.
The differences are astonishing:
In the USA you must be 18 to watch it,
in Germany 16,
in the UK 15,
and in Spain 12

Thank u all ... KIM we saw that and thought .. JUly aug ust would be fine ....

Bye, Kim

It is possible, that next year we may be able to join a meeting like this, too: Cologne-Airport is planning a joint venture with a some air-carriers to offer low-budget flights to the USA and Canada next year. They're talkin about €99 for a return-ticket Cologne-New York. As Cologne is only about 120 miles from Frankfurt this sounds very interesting. Especially if you take into account that there is direct highspeed train running from Frankfurt airport to Cologne airport, covering the distance in 90 minutes. My best time with the car to Cologne is in the 70-minute-range, but that was in perfect conditions, usually it's more like 90 to 120 minutes.

Eric -- My DS saw Kill Bill Vol 2 last week and liked it. He has the first one on DVD as well but I've never seen it. He tried to convince me to go with him to the movie but I'm not really interested which he can't understand. He tried to convince me that there wasn't that much blood shed. :p

Raining here today. :(

Fiona

Mary Jo -- Thanks for the package about Antigua. Just go it and am going to go through it this weekend.
