If any of our DIS-friends ever decides to come to Good Old Europe, Anja & I will be there for you as native guides - No kidding!!!
But with the $ so low against the €, you'd better wait some time.
BTW, if you want to know how to produce the symbol for the Euro: Hold the ALT-key and type 0128 on the numeric pad. We have a key for it, of course ;)

Welcome back twins. Sounds like you both had a great time.

Mark your calendar Nancy. Looking forward to seeing you and Norm in DC on April the 3 rd. Hope to recruit some more DIS people to join us there.

My son's puppy is starting to get huge!. He is a boxer that was rescued from an animal shelter and he was skin and bones. His previous owner had abused the litter and they were taken away from him. He is fat and sassy now and they named him scrappy. He should be about 80 lbs when fully grown. I believe that the boxer breed is German in origin.

Hi Gang, Just a few weeks and we will be under 200 days!
Ave, I called you Monday night and your DH said you were at MIL house. Did he tell you I called?
Mike, we had a Boxer/Great Dane mix..he was a wonderful dog and we miss him:(

Time to get the kids out of bed!!!

Mike,
I don't know if the boxers are of German origin. They have become very rare over here. The most popular dogs over here right now are all kinds of retrievers. A coworker of mine will get a newly born Labrador Retriever (The yellow kind) next week. He's going to take three weeks off to have a good start with the pup. He already has a Dachshound ('Dackel' in German), but as he lives in the countryside and his DW is at home the whole day, they can take good care of the dogs.
Anja also loves dogs, but as we're out of the the house about 12 -13 hours a day, there's no way for us to get one. And additionally I don't consider it fun to get up in the wee hours and watch a canine p**p :teeth: But when we visit my ex-wife and her DH I love playing with their dog, a really nice Bobtail/Giant-Schnauzer-***** called Pebbles - like Fred Flintstone's daughter.

I suspected that the Boards' automatic guarding software would replace the correct term for a female canine by ***** :rotfl:

Jim,
I know it sounds strange, but my ex & her DH and Anja & I are good friends. They attended our wedding and in the same year we attended theirs. We even spent two vacations together, a week in Switzerland and a week in Denmark. And they would have accompanied us on Cruisetoberfest II, if they had found "foster-parents" for their doggie.
But it usually causes some astonishment over here as well ;)

Hi everyone,
We'll be joining you all on 10/02/04 for a Magical time. Will be our third Disney Cruise but the first on the Magic. Our group includes Myself, DW, DD13, DD11, DD7 and my MIL.

Welcome fortierv! Glad to have you and your family with us! I also have a 11 y/o DD (she will be 12 by cruise time!)You will LOVE the 7 night cruise!

Fortierv -- Let me add my welcome to the group! Look forward to seeing you on the Antigua cruise. Relling Twin is right. You will love the 7 day cruise!

Jeanneg -- Did you watch Survivor tonight? Didn't Ethan look especially fine! Love his smile and glad he is still around. Was anyone surprised that Rob C. got voted off? He sure was. I really thought that Susan or Alicia would go. I couldn't stand either one the first time around, and I don't like them any better this time.

WELCOME FORTIERV

Other than Apprentice this week, I have not liked the other Reality shows that I watch.

American Idol was horrible. You feel bad for the ones in group 1 who didn't make it and then 2 from Group 2 got to move on that didn't deserve it. If next week is not better, I think I am done with American Idol. It just isn't the same without my Clay.

Survivor to me was boring this week. It just lacked any luster. Or is it that we know these people and they aren't doing anything exciting. It seems I missed the one great episode this week. Thanks to MaryJo for sending me the Survivor article from TV guide.

I do like the Apprentice. Finally we are rid of annoying Tammy, but Osomara has got to go. If she was on my team, I might have to hurt her. I gained new respect for Heidi. I did watch Wed the repeat of last weeks Apprentice show so am up to speed on all those episodes.

Just got letter in the mail that DS#2 made the Dean's list. This is the 2nd time out of 3 semesters. This was my unmotived son in high school who only ever made honor roll one time. Wow, what a difference when you are doing something you like.

I know what you mean, Nancy:
Last weekend on German Idol we had the last four contestants singing two songs each and there was one guy who really did it great and was praised for it by the jury. They told him 'You don't have to be afraid. You were so good you will certainly be in the next show!'. Unfortunately exactly that statement obviously caused many people not to call for him on the voting-phone, because he was a sure bet, and so he got the boot
Now there are two girls and one guy left. The guy having been the worst singer last time and everybody hopes that he will be voted our this weekend.

Missed Idol this week but apparently didn't miss much. Saw a little review of it and boy were they awful. Feel badly for those from last week who were great and don't get to move on.

Watched Survivor. The reward challenge was a bit blah since they've done that before. The immunity challenge was more interesting although I didn't envy Big Tom. Was actually sorry to see Rob C. go -- I would have preferred to see Alicia go.

Also watched the Apprentice. Was glad to see Tammy go -- she wouldn't be my stockbrocker that's for sure although she must be good she doesn't come across that way. Omarosa has to go though -- she's just too much. Actually felt sorry for Heidi this week and she hasn't been one of my favourites. Have to admit I was a bit taken aback at the rents -- rents here aren't nearly that expensive for that small an apartment but I think both teams really improved the apartments. I didn't think that Troy duped anyone, I just think that Katrina was a little full of herself.

Supposed to snow, freezing rain and then rain today. At least it's not as bad as Nova Scotia. 95cm -- a little over 3 feet of snow in one day. Definitely a snow day there.

Take care everyone. TGIF. :bounce: :bounce:

Fiona

TGIF, ditto :bounce: first weekend without taking work home since mid of January:eek:

Fiona,
I saw the adverse weather in Eastern Canada on the evening news:scared1: and thought of you and Jim immediately. But then they showed a map and it seemed to be well away from Ontario.
Over here we had 9°C today, blue skies and drove with the top down, but for the weekend the forecast predicts snow and rain, but of course not as wild as in Canada.

I actually spent part of my childhood growing up in Nova Scotia and that snow was unbelievable. We have relatives in Nova Scotia and P.E.I who are having fun with the snow. Don't ever recall that much snow.

Here it's actually quite mild today. It's supposed to go up to 4C tonight and some of the snow on the ground has actually melted. Only a month til spring!!!
