1 Year Anniversay Cake Recreation

Hi, I got married in Disney back in the end of June and I was wondering how to go about having/ ordering a recreation of our top layer of our cake. We went ahead and ate our over our honeymoon since it was so good and we did not want to risk it going bad over the next year. Our area has a lot of random power outages and I was very worried about the freezer going out and loosing the cake!
We got our cake through the grand floridian bakery. I have also been toying with the idea of having another private dinner/ dessert party in epcot for our anniversary and eating the cake during that?

Any ideas would be greatly appricated!

Hi! We ate our top layer during our honeymoon too—much better to enjoy it then and have the bakery create a new one later than to eat stale cake on the first anniversary!

If you plan a private anniversary party in Epcot, your cake will be made by Epcot (which is doing fancy fondant work now, thank goodness) unless you pay a $75 delivery fee to have one made by the GF. Be sure your Disney Catered Events planner knows you want to do it that way if you are insistent on having the GF do the re-creation, since it's not standard practice. The good thing about having the GF re-create the top layer is they can access the records from your wedding to get the design perfect.

Alternatively, if you are staying or dining at the GF, you can order your cake through Grand Floridian Private Dining. Just be sure to mention your Disney wedding or they will tell you your only options are basic chocolate and vanilla cakes.
