1 thing you wish someone had told you...

I wished we'd been told to look in to DVC earlier - DH wouldn't stop and look at the kiosks in the parks, although I had wanted to on our early trips. I still think it's the best thing I've ever bought and thinking about how to spend my 150 points each year gives me huge pleasure!! :)

I wish someone had told more about the Adventurers Club, by the time I realised how good it sounded they had closed it. Hopefully it will come back in some form.:confused3

The one thing for me..

When tipping, don't work out the percentage on the whole bill, remove the tax first...

Oh, yes! I now know why the servers have sometimes come chasing after us to say thank you :lmao: It's only 6.5% but it makes a big difference

There's another one I don't see here but from speaking to people who have used a car at Disney, is the common, but often forgotten, is to note where you parked. It helps prevent a day of  turning into a day of :furious:

I haven't heard this one before! I just assumed that we should be tipping on the whole bill, as we do over here.

The "suggested amount" that they put on the bill at Disney restaurants is actually before tax, but TBH I just round it up so I don't fiddle with change anyway and since the service is generally of a high standard, I am happy with this and not likely to change my approach. If you work on the recommended amount as a guideline, you are tipping pre-tax anyway.

I thought of another one. (I love this thread!)

US travel adapters: Make sure that your appliance/gadget plugs fit. Some travel adapters have a ridge around them and I had one or two things with oddly sized or shaped (don't know what it was with them) plugs which would not fit all the way into the socket.

Yes - we missed out on that too.

I have been six times in September, never once been cold.

I was looking at weather history earlier because we have been numerous times in October and always had lovely weather. Site I looked at said over past 3 Septembers highs of 33, lows of 28 thru the day. Maybe islandmum is used to Caribbean temps not UK.:goodvibes

There was a day in September 2009 when Wesh were reporting the hottest September day for years, it was something like 36 degrees.

That day I was at Aquatica and it was the hottest I have ever been. The digital screens that show the time and temp were flashing 100 farenheit.

Add humidity to that :scared1: Someone actually posted some photos around that time of their day at AK. They apologised for the misty quality of the pics which looked like they had been taken through a plastic bag under explanation that the camera lens kept misting up from the sheer heat and humidity.

I wish I knew that you can use a Fastpass any time that day after the time has expired on the ticket. A lot of people just throw them away. :goodvibes

::yes::

First week of October was the same!

We were at EPCOT on the worst day of it and as we walked out of the Land everyone had to take off their sunglasses and wipe them as they instantly steamed up! Same with our camera lense and screen.

yep I think its all relative LOL! We found it pretty cold in the evenings, had to have sweaters and even a coat watching the epcot fireworks. It did peak to a nice heat in the middle of the day but definately chilly for us, and we cooled our little island skin somewhat;)
