1 Summer, 2 Coasts, 3 Kids...Ready, Set, Go!

Just a quick update. I made Marissa call her Japanese advisor because she hadn't heard from her and she still couldn't register for the class. The woman said she had done very good on the test and that she could take the class and that she, the advisor, had forgotten to email registration. She got one of the last two spots.

Oh...and it felt hot on my trek home from work.

Yay! SO glad to hear this! Bet you are both so relieved! Now onto enjoying vacation!! :cool1:

We are relieved. Although, I don't think she is as excited about the trip as I am. I entered her room 2 nights ago, and in my scariest voice said, "26 days!" She claimed it gave her nightmares. :rotfl2:

Walking...it is no bueno. But, I suppose it is good for me. I am getting excited for the vacation.

I was stressed about the FP too. But, it went fairly well. Now just waiting to get the BOG fp for when it opens up.

I wish there was something new Disney related to report. We are 21 days until the Disneyland trip. I am frustrated with the "group" I am going with. None of the rest of the group has called the hotel to reserve their rooms. I will probably pass out if this trip doesn't end up having extra costs due to people flaking. I am still trying to figure out how to surprise Jacob and Chelsea.

4th of July was good. We headed to the coast to spend the day with my parents and my sister and bil. My sister and bil moved to Oregon less than a month ago. So, they were able to travel the 2 hours to my parents. First time we have been together in years. My mom's brother and his daughter were also there. There was plenty of food, actually too much food. My sister and bil left around 5 pm. The rest of us headed out to the bay to watch the fireworks. I guess we have been spoiled by Disney fireworks. These were just kind of pathetic :sad2:. At least it wasn't fogged in this year and we could actually see the fireworks.

We came back home on Saturday. It was just a lazy day. We watched Frozen again. Then Marissa wanted to see a movie yesterday. She offered to take Chelsea and me to see X-men. It was pretty good, although, Chelsea should have stayed home. We were covering her eyes and she was covering her eyes in several places.

Marissa watched some Youtube videos of the Frozen welcome and the sing along for Frozen at DHS. She really wants to see and do everything now. I read that there is a 90 minute wait to get into Oaken's Frozen Funland and Trading Post. Of course, Chelsea wants to go and do everything. I am wondering if I should shell out the $59 per person for the Premium package. I am glad I decided to do 2 full days at DHS.

I still need to buy Photopass+ for Disneyland and to pay off WDW this week. I can't believe how fast summer is going. It could slow down a little.

Well, I should get some work done. Hope you all are having a great Monday.

I must confess I love the show Nashville. I bought the first season's CD and I will buy the 2nd too. Why am I mentioning this? Well, the DIS just announced that Disneyland is bringing a new show to the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree beginning July 18th, called the Music of Nashville. They will have a band there that will play the music from the show plus other current country music hits. We are in the parks only Wednesday through Friday. I am so excited that I will get to see it. Hopefully, it doesn't bomb and they cancel the show before the third weekend. 20 more days until we leave for Disneyland! :dance3:

I said I would post pictures of the thrift store jacket that Chelsea found. Here is the front view (sorry it is sidewise):

Minnie on the back:

Close up of Minnie:

Chelsea loves it and Minnie is cute sporting her Flower Power look.

The Jacket is WAAAAAAAAAAAY Adorable!!!! :thumbsup2 great find!

Congrats on your nashville sing along!

Sorry about having to cover Chelsea eyes for the Movie.. that kinda stinks going to the theater!

Your so right about this summer FLYING BY!! sooner then later we will all be writing out trip reports!

We booked the frozen premium package. I figure it is worth it for the desserts during the fireworks.

Chelsea will be happy to get to wear it at Disneyland. Although, I am not looking forward to carrying it around when it get too warm for her to wear it. 19 days and I will be leaving for Disneyland. It is so hard not to show excitement, but I guess you know how that is. Yours is a surprise too.

I soooo want to do this. I am just not sure. Jacob and Marissa liked the desserts at the Tomorrowland Terrace one last year, but Chelsea and I got really sick after and had to leave just as the fireworks were beginning. I think I would regret not doing it though. :confused3
Love the jacket! What a great find! :)
Thank you! I spent an hour on your fb page yesterday looking at your shoes. Maybe for next years trip. Although I promised the kids we would do Universal Orlando for 2015. I am hoping they have a good bounce back at Disney. Now that the kids are older...I am trying to get as many trips in before they move out and on with their lives. I can't believe that I always made excuses as to why we couldn't go. Years slip by before you know it.

Shannon; I'm joining in; I have to go run and do something for one of my attorneys and will then come back and catch up.

****I'm back!

First, I LOVE LOVE LOVE that denim jacket.

Tell Chelsea I'm with her...It's a Small Boat to China is my least favorite ride.

I am so not looking forward to doing the FP+ selection; Mary did it for our girls trip. But I'll have to do it for my DH's and my September trip.

You will enjoy MNSSHP. We've done it twice and may do it in September only because we are meeting up with a DIS family (my first real DIS friend).

Your plans sound great. DL and DW all within a couple of months of each other. DH and I hoped to go to DL next year, but with his losing his job, I'm not sure that will happen.

I should stay caught up now.

So, I can't believe I didn't check before now. I should have remembered from last year. Keep an eye on your flights. I went to the Delta site today and sure enough, my flights had changed. Instead of leaving Portland at 4:05 PM, we are now leaving at 3:50 PM (less Portland fun time). We arrive in LA at 6:10 PM (was 6:25 PM). So not that bad, right?

Well, we are now leaving LA at 10:30 PM. We were supposed to leave at 9:55 PM. So, our 3 1/2 hr layover is now 4 hr 20 min layover. Well, at least we should be able to have a nice, leisurely dinner. We will now arrive at MCO at 6:23 am instead of the 5:35 am. I am thinking I should change my FP times for a little later now. Not sure we will make it DHS by the 9am (we actually like to get there 40 minutes early). The flights back are exactly the same. They could have delayed that one and I would have been happy. Oh well.

I was posting and you were posting.

I like when the airlines send you an email that your flight has changed which some of them do. But now that you've mentioned this, I better keep an eye on my flights.

I don't think they have to notify you if the difference is less than an hour.

Just made my last payment to Disney. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I am so happy for that.

I have 17 days until we leave for Disneyland. So much drama going on. First, our coordinator posted on FB that the hotel was still going to honor our group discount rate, even though there are now only 3 families going. The others all bailed when it was time to pay for the tickets and the room. So, I am glad that the hotel is still honoring the rate.

I had hidden some of the Disneyland supplies in the drawer in my room. My kids know they aren't to go through mama's drawers. So, when I got home from work, Chelsea told me she found some legwarmers in my drawer...Disneyland drawer. She didn't confess to seeing anything, but I know she did. Errrr. So, if the surprise is ruined, it is her own dang fault for nosing through things she isn't supposed to. I have until the 15th to decide on the photopass +. Chelsea and I have watched Frozen almost daily. I am getting a bit tired of it, but I will be ready for the Frozen sing-a-long at DHS.

WDW - I was able to move my fastpasses back for our arrival day. That way, if we do have any issues, we will still have time. It is nice to know, that even if we might get to DHS after opening, we still get to ride TSMM without waiting in horrible lines. I am surprised at how many on the FB group are unable to get Anna & Elsa Fast passes. It makes me wonder what is up with that.

This weekend should be pretty calm. I will be making Chelsea try on her summer clothes and Disney shirts and I will have to find some shoes for that girl. Why do feet have to keep growing? :sad2:

Ok. I was kind of getting anxious of how to get the kids to pack a suitcase without letting them in on the Disneyland Trip. Marissa (the one that works so has to know about the trip) came up with a pretty good plan. So, on Saturday, I told Jacob and Chelsea that my friend Brad had called and offered us his cabin near Crater Lake again. Chelsea was so excited. I told them that we would leave in 2 weeks, so they had to get their stuff ready and that Chelsea had to try on her summer clothes. Between the rain and the cooler temps, she hasn't really worn shorts yet this summer. Jacob first refused to go. But later, he came around and seemed to like the idea. Now, hopefully they don't get upset when we fly past the turn off. Hoping they won't notice until they see the Welcome to California sign and we have to stop for the border inspection. "No sir. We are not bringing fruits or vegetables into your precious state." I grew up in California, but have lived in Oregon for so long, that I am dreading pumping my own gas. Chelsea is at the age that she thinks it is fun, so I may let her. And then dealing with sales tax. We do enjoy buying something for $0.99 and paying with a buck and getting a penny back. I am not a fan of sales tax. Oregon might be a little strange, but you have got to love a state where it is illegal to pump your own gas and the cost of gas is still cheaper than California.

Chelsea got her autograph book and Guide to the Magic journal in the mail on Friday. She was super excited. They both had a special inscription to her. The autograph book had a message from Aladdin wishing her a Magical trip and said he would see her soon. The journal had a similar message from Jasmine. She was super excited. I have pictures, but I am typing this at work, so no Photobucket access. I will try tonight, because I also have to order photopass + for Disneyland. We are at the 14 days before we leave, so I am hoping we aren't too late.

I got my free pair of Thorlo socks on Saturday. Those things are thick! I am going to test them out this week on a walk in to work.

We went thrift store shopping again yesterday. Marissa is putting her costume together for MNSSHP. She has told me a few times what she is going as, but I just don't really understand. :confused3 She needed white skinny jeans and a pair of long boots. She was wearing a dress yesterday that was pretty short. Keep that in mind for later. We went to several of the Saint Vincent du Pauls. No luck. She found one pair that wasn't quite skinny enough and they wanted $17.50 for them. We tried Target. They didn't have any in sizes below size 16. So, finally she decided she would try Buffalo Exchange. We love Buffalo Exchange but she thought they would be more expensive than the thrift store. If you don't know what Buffalo Exchange is, it is like a consignment store for Juniors clothing. They are super picky as to what they will buy. You bring your clothes in, they will offer you a price in cash or store credit. Anyway, she found some boots to try on. There are no chairs to sit to try on shoes. She couldn't get the boots off. Chelsea and I are trying to tug the boot off of her and without lifting her leg too high, because she is in a short dress. We finally got it off. She found a pair of white skinny jeans that fit perfect for $10.50 and a pair of boots, that could be removed, for $20. Glad she is spending her own money. This costume is getting expensive. Chelsea found a pair of shoes too. She is so excited to be a size 5 now. Although, the Toms that were there in size 5 were too big. She went with the Converse.

The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out together and working on a puzzle.

Guess I should get some work done.

Wow! You are sneaky with your plan! Good work!

Woohoo for your socks coming in and getting paid off!

How weird about Oregon! I didn't know any if that stuff and I have family that used to live in Portland!

I am curious what this costume is going to be, you must ask!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for being paid off.

NO NO NO on snooping in mom's drawer!

I like the plan for the surprise for leaving.

Nice deal on the shoes, boots and leggings. :thumbsup2
