I have 1 reservation for 2 rooms and I am needing a separate credit card for each room. Does anyone know if this will be a problem?
Thanks!!!

I had one reservation and two rooms also. My sister who is staying in one of the rooms, sent in a check in advance to pay for her portion of the room. I used my credit card for the other.

So I don't think you will have any problems using more than one card or a different type of payment. Of course this was all done in advance and I do not know how they deal with payments directly at the resort.

Paying for the rooms in advance won't be a problem, just charge each card appropriately before your trip. I did have two rooms booked and they were under one reservation and one name. I was told that I could only put down one card for both rooms, since the rooms were booked under one reservation. I even asked for the manager and was told the same thing. I think since it's all under one name, they can't "break up" the reservation and the rooms are blocked the same. I think our room keys opened both doors too, if I remember correctly. If you want to have completely separate rooms, I'd break the reservation up into two separate reservations.

We paid for the rooms in advance. When we arrived, at different times, they asked if we wanted the same card or different cards on our room. There was one charge that was an error but they ironed it out before we left.

Our family has done this several times. We have never had much of a problem. When you check in as long as you are all together, just tell them how much each is paying and proceed to give them your payments. Just know before you step up how much each person needs to pay.

Note: Our family has always arrived together or just waited for everyone to arrive to check in together. There could be problems if you do it seperately.

:)

Thanks so much for the quick replies.
I am needing to know specifically if we can have charging privleges from 1 reservation but separate rooms.
In other words I will put down my AmEx for my room and my charges Dad puts his card down on their room for their charges.
Will that work?

As I posted earlier, it was my experience that they can't do this. We had two rooms booked under one name and one reservation. We were unable to break up the reservation and place two cards down for charging to the room. So, no one charged anything back to the room and just carried their respective charge cards and used that. You could place one card down, and then figure out what's what, and have someone else charge that else the night before check out. But for me, just too confusing.

Since I will be in that same situation myself in December I called the CRO.

This is what they said.

Make sure everyone's names are listed for the rooms. When you check in, indicate who can charge under what room number. All they need is the name of the people who can charge to what room number. When you check out each room can be paid for with different cards.

I have booked up to four rooms under one reservation. I have always used one credit card to reserve them.

Once you arrive for check in, however, you can split up the rooms for payment and room charging.

Each set of room occupants can have their separate room charging accounts and hotel bill.

I was at WDW in June with a friend. I had made the ressies for both rooms in my name but when we checked in we asked if my friend could pay for her room with her credit card. it was not a problem...she gave them her credit card and she charged to that all week. The day of checkout came and there was not a hitch with either bill, every charge was correct.

The only mix up was with the room keys, they told us one set of keys was for one room but it was actually opposite of what they had told us. And one morning her husband called at 6 AM and they sent his call to our room. Imagine his surprise when my DH answered what was supposedly his wife's phone! LOL

I hope all goes smoothly...have an awesome trip!

We'll find out if we go smoothly as well in about a week from now.
Thanks so much for all of your help!!!!!

We've done this every year for 8 years. I always book two rooms under my name. When we arrive, always together, we ask them to separate the reservations putting my parents name on one room and our name on the other. We each give them a credit card to pay each room separately. And, we have both charged on the rooms. At check out we each receive a separate bill and there has never been a hitch. In fact, a couple times they have checked out sooner than us and it still works fine.

When we have connecting rooms then the keys will open both rooms. Otherwise, when we have just had adjoining rooms then our keys would only open our room door.
