1 photo pass photographer yesterday at DHS :(

We're at WDW now and I bought memorymaker. DH keeps complaining to me saying he thinks it's a rip off. We haven't seen a lot of photographers either.

We went to Disney World in 2010 and there were tons of photographers. We went to Disneyland last year and there weren't as many. I figured it was a Disneyland thing and am disappointed to hear otherwise.

In the early morning or late afternoon, sometimes there is one down Sunset Blvd so you can get the I'm scared because it's ToT picture.

I think there are less photographers out now.

Yes, we noticed the same thing last week. The photographers were few and far between and always had lines of people waiting. Then when I checked the photos when we got home, they were just awful. One of DH and I at the Rose Garden looks like she was standing over on Main Street somewhere. You can hardly tell it's us.

I'm really ticked. I've got a Photopass cd that I paid for about 3 years ago that I was hoping to finally use and it seems like a huge waste of money.

They also did away with the Photopass photographer at the Dessert Party, as well as cutting down on the number of dessert tables and the line to get in was a disorganized mess.

I'm so disappointed with just about everything with this last trip. We loved Shades of Green--the difference in cleanliness and friendliness of the CM's was night and day from what we experienced at the parks and at the Poly. Everything to do with the parks (including PhotoPass) pretty much sucked.

Not only did we notice fewer photographers on our most recent trip (last September) but many of the photos we did get were awful. Many were off center and required cropping, and many others had us cut off at the knees. If we are standing in front of the castle, the hat, the tree, I don't understand why the photographers would zoom in to the point that we were only in the photos from the knees up. Those photos look absolutely awful. At least they could have taken one full length shot and then a zoomed in shot, so we had a choice. I can always crop them later, but I can't add the rest of our legs in. :rolleyes2

I also noticed that they took far fewer shots than in the past. On previous trips we might have one photographer take five or six shots, zoomed out, zoomed in, centered, to the side, etc. Not this time.

I'm on the fence about purchasing Memory Maker for our upcoming trip but you all aren't making it sound very worthwhile. :confused3

Does Memory Maker need to be purchased ahead of time like Photopass Plus?

I'd rather see the castle, hat or tree than my legs.

It has to be purchased at least 3 days before the first picture is taken.

I get what you're saying, and maybe it isn't something that would bother you, but the photos are weird. The composition is just not good and it does bother ME. If they were free it would be different, but when I'm paying for them I expect better.

Here are a few examples:

We were there in January and this is what we found
At DHS:
We found photographers by the hat, by TOT, by the front main entrance by the giant topiary, by star tours, character meet and greets, by the muppet fountain, I feel like there were a couple more but I can't remember.

We stopped at a couple different photographers along the main street in front of the hat. I'm glad we did, we had better chemistry with some then others and got better photos.

At MK - main street, the hub, the rose garden by tomorrowland, liberty square in front of the river boat, lots of character meet and greets, by the crystal palace with a different view of the castle, frontier land.

At Epcot, in front spaceship earth, the fountain with spaceship earth in the background, mexico, Canada, meet and greets with characters at character spot, meet and greets with Winnie the pooh in UK, meet and greet with Belle in France.
We didn't really look for them as much at epcot, so I don't know fi there were more around that we didn't see.

I was pleased with the amount of photographers we saw, of course I would always like to see more, but overall I was cool with it. We ended up with well over 175 pictures, so it worked for us.

Edit- I was also over all pleased with the quality of photos- I was happy with 80%. I'm glad we stopped at a few different photographers along the main street though, because we just had better chemistry with some rather then others. Also, the ones we got in the morning on mainstreet of the castle were terrible because of the sun on the castle and the shade on the street. But the ones we got later in the afternoon were great. The evening one is my favorite because the castle is lit up and you can't see the crane. LOL.

My husband and I just got back from our anniversary trip. We went without our daughter, so i wasn't going to get the MM. Didn't think it'd be worth it, but totally was. One thing you have to remember about it is that you get the Ride photos and the photos at special dining events as well.

That being said, there were less photographers than i remember from previous visits. At DHS, they were in front of the hat and down by ToT. Epcot, they had more because of F&G i think. There were ones in the front, by the fountain, and by the back entrance. MK, all were by the Castle, from different angles.

But, we got about 50 photos, all in good quality. :lovestruc

I hate to break it to you but knees/feet cut off is exactly how they're trained. Feet/knees in shot = awkward/bad.

Yeah, I really don't need to see my feet in photos. I would rather see all of spaceship earth- leaving room for some sky on top then see my feet.

Uh oh, this is not good news! We were thinking about buying it tonight, because we had such a great experience with Photopass in Anaheim. There were photographers everywhere! Is it possible that they will bring more photographers out for the spring break crowds?

I'm really on the fence about this. I'd love to get some great photos but $150 is really expensive. I don't want to spend my time hunting down photographers and waiting in lines to get our picture taken. I just don't know

It's generally accepted that Wdw has tons more photographers than Disneyland. For instance, Main Street in Disneyland has about 3 locations. At MK, it's about 18 or so that I can think of.

Generally you can't walk two feet without bumping into a photographer. When I walked down Main Street, I passed at least 7. They're pretty easy to find.

Can I ask when that was? Because last week, on Main Street on a very busy day, I saw 2 photographers--each with a line. One at the Walt statue and one on Main Street. I agree that it used to be that there'd be probably 5 or 6 on Main Street alone but not last week.

There was no photographer all week in the places we've usually gotten photos--Liberty Square, Haunted Mansion, Tomorrowland Bridge, etc. I ran into one by the new Ariel ride but only on one morning--I never saw him there again.

This was my experience on Friday too. But I saw 3 photographers on main st. (2 on main st and 1 at the statue)

If you pre-purchase it it's $149. If you wait to buy it it's $199
