We pre-purchased the memory maker photo package before our trip (3/8-3/15) and yesterday was our first day in a park, we went to DHS. There was only 1 photographer that we saw all day, it was right when you come in to get the hat in your photo. :( In the past there was always a photographer over by the entrance to playhouse disney/Little Mermaid and usually down around Lights Motor Action. We were around the park all day and night and were looking out for photographers and didnt see any more.

Has this been the way it is lately? I would like to think not since they keep rolling out new photo packages. We did get RNR and TOT on our photocard too. I havent downloaded them yet, will tonight and make sure they showed up on there.

I have always had this experience in DHS, even MK and Epcot and AK. I rarely would see a photopass person only maybe at the entrances and up Main Street and I don't know how people get so many photos for their photopass as they are so rarely seen so I understand what you have been saying but I have noticed this for several years.

I think they are still around, but not as easy to find. We saw them on the street going to ToT in two different areas, a couple on the street on the way in, at the star wars racers across from the ride (not sure of the actual name of those), at the Muppets fountain and most characters had them with them, but not all. That was back in November though.

That's too bad. I'm on the fence about getting it and that doesn't make me want it as much. This is our first Disney World vacation as a family(3 more weeks) so I want to make sure we capture all of our memories! :worried:

In Dec we had a photopass photog at the arch leading to playohouse Disney and over by Star Tours.

We found this to be the case on our trip a few weeks ago. There was only 1 photopass photographer in front of Spaceship Earth, but none by the fountains like there usually is. There was no one in front of the fountains in France either. It seemed like the only time we consistently saw Photopass photographers, was with the characters. Maybe we just had a few off days, but it seems like there are less photographers than there used to be. :(

We used to always get the CD as well, but after our Halloween trip last fall we won't be doing that anymore. The quality of what photos we did get was not good at all. I think out of the 50-60 photos from the week, only 10 or so were any good.

I've had the photo pass many times and usually know where to find them, we were in no hurry yesterday and I had my eyes open looking for them as this is our sons first trip, he has been home from China for 6 months and is having a blast! This is also a trip with my husbands family, so trying to get as many family photos as possible. They just were not out and about and it was beautiful weather, I've seen more photographers when it was crappy out. We haven't been here since July/Aug 2012, so maybe they just don't have as many photographers as they use to?

I will report how Magic Kingdom goes. We are not doing Animal Kingdom and on the fence about Epcot, keeping this trip budget friendly using old tickets.

Interesting information. We are on the fence about getting this, my wife loves to take pictures, but I want some with her in them :)

I thought that they had set areas in each park where they always had a photographer, I am guessing this is not the case. It would be great to have set areas shown on a map. Or be able to track the photographers on the MDE app.

You must not have visited any characters?
There is one with Mickey, Minnie & Ralph and vanellope in the Animation building. And they with the characters around the hat. There is one usually outside the entrance in front of the topiary - it think its sorcerer Mickey right now. One with Woody and Buzz and Mike and Sully...One with Phineas and Ferb and one with Lightening and Mater...

But you are right - There are fewer just hanging around in all of the parks...

I too was disappointed in the lack of photographers at DHS when I went in October. Only saw them in front of the hat and in front of ToT..and with characters. No complaints in the other parks though.

You are correct, we did not visit characters, my back does not allow for standing in long lines like that. We do the character meals that they want to be able to meet characters. But, there use to be several photographers throughout the park. Hoping it is better at MK.

I had the same experience at DHS last Thursday. We looked all day and finally found one on Sunset Blvd facing ToT, around 3:30. It rained all morning, and we were told that's why there weren't many out. On our way out of the park, we saw two (one was the same from earlier) in front of the hat. We were definitely disappointed with the lack of photographers throughout all the parks, we looked and looked and only found a few in each park.

Also disappointed in the lack of locations - we found three at AK, all with the Tree of Life in the background. Four at EPCOT, three with Spaceship Earth in the background, and every single one at MK had the castle in the background except for the one in front of the train station at the front of the park. We even checked each location the Disney website said they might be found a few times in each park. That being said, we still ended up with 130+ photos, and most are pretty good. Just wish we had more variety.

Over the last couple years, there have been less and less photopass photographers out.

We noticed this on our last trip also. They were there for most character M&G's but very few just in the park other than at the entrance. It was the first time I had bought the photopass and I was disappointed with the lack of photographers.

i think it would be great if they spread them out. i dont need 3 photos in front of the hat, 3 at the tree of life and 5 on main street. i would love to have those spread out into a few more areas (maybe 2 in front of each icon). i am also disappointed that you have to ask all the time for them to take your picture. they used to offer more, or at least seem happier to take more than one standard shot.

This is disappointing. I have never purchased a photo package before and pre-purchased PP+ for my next trip. Can't cancel it. I never seem to get any pictures of DBF and myself together, except the occasional bad "selfie", and hoped to have lots of pictures this trip. I don't want to be spending my park time hunting down photographers. I refuse to stand in line to meet a character. I have no interest. I may have to pick a few favorites this time and bite the bullet.

Had the same experience on our visit several weeks back. Thought maybe the weather made them hard to spot or kept them from being out altogether. Guess that's not the case if others have noticed the same.

We got one picture near the entrance to DHS and another at the Cars meet and greet outside the Lights Motors Action...but that was it. Thought there'd at least be one wondering around the city streetscape or the Star Wars scenery by StarTours but no luck. Much the same at MK...only saw photographers along Main Street and maybe one other spot with a view of the castle. Again thought they'd be near some of the more iconic attractions or at the entrances to the various parts of the park...but again, sad to say no.

Since we were only at the parks 3 days...it felt like a bit of a waste especially since we only did a couple meet and greets. Without those and a couple good ride pictures I would have considered contacting Disney for a refund...but the few pictures we did get did turn out nice so I didn't feel like it was worth my time to complain. But next time we go down, I doubt I'll spend the money unless we're there for a full week and can really get our money's worth.

When you do find them give them your camera they will shoot a couple shots for you with your gear.

I totally agree with this. When we went in December we saw the least number of photographers and I was really looking for them. After our last experience I don't think I'll buy the photo package again. The price goes up and they have fewer photographers.
