Hi everyone I am so happy to have just booked a 1 bedroom for our first trip home at SSR. My question is with 2 adults and a 3.5 year old, should I have splurged and gone with the two bedroom? Do you feel that the pullout sofa bed will be sufficent for my child. He is currently in a crib now since he is 31 months old, but will be in a bed by then so I am not sure what to do.

We use a 1-bedroom when we travel with our 2 boys and they sleep on the pull out sofa together just fine, so I am sure your 3.5 year old will be also be fine.

Also you may not want to have him alone in his own bedroom (in the 2-bedroom) with its own access door to the outside either - those toddlers can be the great explorers!

Then again - if you have the points for a 2-bedroom, and don't care to have to pull out and put back the sofa each day/night - go for it!

1 bedroom...maybe it is just me but I wouldnt let my 6 & 5 year old sleep that far away in the 2nd bedroom

I've actually wondered about this. Don't parents of really young children feel nervous about having the kids sleeping out on the sofa bed, with so much for them to get into with the kitchen, balcony, etc.? I know they probably have their own bedrooms at home, but their bedrooms are a lot more childproof.

I almost feel like if we had a baby we'd want to use studios until the child were about 6 or so.

The bedroom has either a king or california king (can't remember). Everyone might sleep comfortably together. Our 10 yr old would crawl in one or two nights and we were fine.

Our boys sleep on the sofa couch and they are 9 and 5. No problems.

They don't wander around in their sleep. I guess I have never worried about them getting into things in the kitchen because they don't at home.

Your kids say in their bedrooms? Ours have a tendancy to gets snacks and/or migrate to our bed!

No, I don't have kids! This is something I've wondered about for if we do. I'm not sure I'd want really young kids (like preschool and younger) sleeping out in the living room, so I wondered how experienced parents felt.

The sleepers are really comfortable at SSR and my boys can definitely tell the difference so I dont think comfort would be an issue.

Would your son sleep in the second bedroom alone? It may be more comforting to be closer in the living room.

Then again, we had a 2 bdr on our first DVC visit when my boys were 4 and 6 and they loved having their own room.

Wow I had no idea this post would get such a good response. I didn't realize that the second bedroom has access to the outside hall. I will probably try the sleeper sofa and since I am a light sleeper I am sure I would hear him in the kitchen. If that doesn't work I can see if he will sleep in with us in the king bed. Thanks
