1 night: Wilderness Lodge or Port Orleans?

My husband and I are staying at the Poly for 6 nights through rented DVC points. We ended up getting Park Hopper tickets for 7 days through a good deal. We originally only wanted 6 days but we paid a 4-day price and got 3 free. Now we want to extend our stay by 1 night to use that extra day's ticket. We cannot add on to our DVC rental.

We are deciding between WL, POR or POFQ. I am not concerned about price difference if it is worth it. It is an extra $117 (includes tax) for WL over the PO options. I know construction is going to be going on but it is only one night and we sleep with ear plugs. I would love your opinions!

I would stay at POFQ for one night. It is a small manageable resort, very nice and most people love it there. It might be nice to visit the AK while yo are staying there because it is closer and you have to take a bus there either way. You are moving to the Poly the next day which is furthest from the AK. It might also be nice to enjoy the boat ride to DS while at POFQ. It is a different experience in a different area of WDW and will save a few $$$ and isn't under construction. Win, win, win, IMO.

I love the Wilderness Lodge, taking the boat to MK is so relaxing.

Thanks for your opinions! We decided on POFQ. We are coming back next year with some family who will want to stay at a moderate and this will be a good way to preview before we recommend it to them. Hoping we will get to stay at WL sometime in the future!

While you are there, you might want to walk over to POR and check it out. For a longer stay, a preferred room or a royal room over there is nice as well. Also, if anyone needs room for 5 people, POR AB has rooms that will accommodate 5.
