1 more arpt/car seat/stroller question!

Ok, sorry to keep bringing up the age old question. I was just curious if anyone has any advice for carrying car seat, stroller, and 18 mo old in the arpt? I have read about the car seat carrier/backpack ideas. I haven't looked for one yet, but just curious about other's advice ... oh, don't forget to throw in that we are flying out the day before thanksgiving ... you know just to add to the already anxious ........... EEEEEEEEEEEKKKKK!!! (Couldn't resist the $99 flight)

I have taken all 3 of my kids alone on an airplane with one double stroller, 2 car seats and 2 backpacks. Oh the things I'll do just to go to Disney World.

My advice - if you need help ask for it!

I carry the car seat by the straps. Depending on your stroller and car seat you can either carry it on your shoulder (uncomfortable but it gets the job done) or the stroller. Just take the straps and place over the stroller handles.

I have a friend who buckled her car seat right in the stroller with her son in the car seat. Not the safest thing in the world but it worked for her. I could never get any of our car seats to balance on top of the stroller.

You'll just have to experiment before you leave. You'll be fine!

I have used a bungie cord to strap the car seat back to back with stroller. You have to hook the bottom of the car seat on the top of the stroller basket and thread the bungie cord through the seatbelt path of the carseat. Worked like a charm and ds could still sit in the stroller. Our stroller was a lightweight Kidco (similar to a Mac) and the carseat was also pretty light (Cosco Touriva) if that makes any difference. Wouldn't be hard to try out at home and see if it works for you!

We just took, two car seats, two kids and a double stroller. Of course it was DH and me. But he used a luggage cart when possible and I pushed stoller and carried carry ons. It was challenging, but worked.

Eeek is right! I suggest using bungee cords to strap the carseat to a luggage cart (the Samsonite MicroMover is often recommended). Then you can pile some luggage into the carseat, or even a kid if it's strapped securely enough onto the cart.

I put the carseat and carryons on the stroller, and carried then-toddler DD in the sling (or let her walk with a tether.)

Get the carseat dufflebag. Whatever the cost its totally worth it! Sling it over your neck and sholder and youre off with two hands and a balanced stroller. When you get to the gate simply take the baby and diaper bag out of the stroller and the airline will make sure it meets you at the other gate.

Installing the carseat on the plane tip: recline the seat while installing it. This makes it ever so much easier to get the seatbelt back there. Remember to sit the seat back all the way up before you do the final tightening of the belt.

We use a carseat carrier bag. Just put the carseat in it and carry it over your shoulder. Totally worth the cost, ours was $30.

1.Check the stroller...
2.Put the car seat on a collapsable luggage cart, bungee cord it to itself. I usually do one around the back and one on the bottom. HAve an extra cord to hang your carry on off of.
3. Strap the kid in the car seat and off you go.


Should have seen me last summer 7 mos pregant, 2 year old in tow, and a poodle.

It works though..

Did it this past summer with 8 month old and 3 year old..

will do it again at Christmas, but the poodle is coming so that should be lots of fun..

WOW Rapunsel ... you are the WOMAN! LOL! I am nervous and it is just dh and ds 18months! LOL! The only thing that worries me about not having stroller is a 3 hour layover in ATL, but if stroller is on luggage cart then it will still roll!
