I am looking for lots of advice here and I really hope this board will be able to help. My parents are giving myself and my 3 kids a trip to WDW this Jan for Christmas (hubby has to work). It will be myself and my 3 kids DS 10 years old DD 9 years old and DS 6 years old. We will be staying in All Stars Music. Our trip will begin on Jan. 22 and end on Jan. 27th. We are landing at around 1pm in the afternoon. My parents and other family members will arrive on the 24th in the early afternoon. We will have 6 days to plan for with only a five day pass. My thoughts were to just lay low on the first day and not do the parks. But maybe it will be better for us to use the pass for the first day and have the last day open. Our flight out is not until 7pm. My big questions are......

1. What would you do with the kids on the first day of arrival
if we choose not to go to the park. I was thinking that
maybe we could eat at the Cal. Grill and watch the Fireworks.
Or should we just go to the parks on our first day.

2. Any hints for being in the World with 3 kids and only one
adult?

3. And this is a really hard one. Any ideas on how we should give
the kids the trip. We are trying to slowly give them hints or
something so that they will have to figure it out as they are
opening up the hints on Christmas morning.

Thank you for any and all help you can give me on this. Oh yeah, we have been to WDW many, many times with the kids so we are very familiar with the parks and such.

Thanks very much!

I am so jealous - you are going to have an amazing time -- my only suggestion on parks is to make sure (no matter which day you decide to go) - have Magic Kingdom be your first park -- it sets up the magic for the rest of the trip!

and on how to give this present to your kids

when I was 5 or 6 my parents gave a trip to disney world to me and my 3 siblings for christmas -- they had a scavenger hunt throughout the whole house -- it started by the christmas tree - went downstairs upstairs - everywhere -- well we ended up in the room we started in - but on the floor was a video tape that said to play me for your present -- when we did it was all video of the magic Kingdom -- we went crazy we were so excited -- it was a fun and exciting way to give the surprise!

Hope this helps -- let us now what you end up doing!

Thanks for your advice. I am so excited and happy to be going back to WDW, but the thing that has me the most excited is being there with just me and my kids even if it is only for a very small part of the trip.

As soon as we decide how we will give them the trip I will post it here. It may be have to wait until right after Christmas, but I will absolutely fill you in.

Thanks again and have a great day!

I hope all works well - it is magic when you are alone with people you love in MK -- its great!

Another hint for at Christmas time could be Disney Dollars for each of them. Sorry but I don't know anything about locker costs.

OOPS. Ignore that about the locker costs. I was thinking you were also the one that asked about the cost of a locker. Sorry.
