We are taking a late October trip to DW to take advantage of a free dining pin that I received. I would love to use a day of our trip for IOA and Universal, but am wondering if we should just wait until our next trip (which may not be for a few years
) when we can stay on-site and spend more time. We always rent a car, so travel to and from Universal would not be a problem, nor would arriving 45 mins to an hour early to the gates be a problem. If we would go on a Sunday or Tuesday, would staying off-site make a huge difference to wait times? I know IOA has early entry for on-site guests (is this everyday?), so is the line for Harry Potter really large by the time the park opens for the off-site guests? I was thinking of starting at IOA in WWOHP and moving on to the headliners in that park (Spiderman, Jurassic Park, Hulk) until around noon, and then heading to US after lunch. We would hit the headliners there (Mummy, Simpsons, Despicable) and return to IOA early evening and hit up the Harry Potter area again because y'all say it is cool in the evenings.
A few more things: Rip Ride Rocket is not a must as we live near Six Flags and roller coasters are great but doable at home. We have been to both parks for 1 day at each, but have never tried 2 in the same day. Staying on-site nor Express tickets are in our budget this year. Thanks for any help!
