1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

Glad your Mom had a good time on her cruise. what ship was she on?

Looks like you had a great meal at Coral Reef, I enjoyed that place the 2 times I have been there.

Sorry about the weather and having to cancel your trip to New Orleans. Ice is scary. Snow is bad, but ice is worse. Glad everyone was safe and your Mama had a good time.

Jesse looks like a little kid watching the candy lady!

I love when you do pick a pearl! My 7 year old said she might want to do that this year when I told her about it.

The food at Coral Reef looks delish! It's on our list for sure this year. My husband wants to try the Baily's thingamabob. :rotfl2:

And, we did our taxes, and have MORE than enough for Disney. We were just wanting for the confirmation, so we're on for sure in September!

Great updates!

I love that you can always find something to do to kill some time in the World Showcase. I love that movie in France, but I haven't seen it since 2008 during some solo mom time in the WS. I can still picture some of the scenes and when I hear the music from the show in the real world, I think "Impressions de France"

Haven't seen the candy lady in forever, either!

Your dinner at Coral Reef looked fantastic! How was John's lobster pasta? Nate gets the steak there and really likes it. We have been to Coral Reef many times and considered on our last trip, but stuck with La Hacienda instead.

So where's the picture of the pearl in it's new setting?

I was wondering the same thing!

Love the Hunter hat picture in France. :)

Has Mark tried on that particular chapeau?

The candy lady is pretty amazing! What a gift!

It took me a couple tries but I finally saw the hidden mickey. You have good eyes girls!

I love the Coral Reef and all your meals look relish. Even Jesse's looks pretty good even though its largely unidentifiable. :rotfl2: Those desserts look amazing!

I love Jesse's and Hunter's total opposite reactions. Everytime I read about Coral Reef I want to try it. But then I see bad reviews. I am still undecided.

Loved all the updates!!!

The CMs at the Pick a Pearl in Japan are the best!!! They get so into their job!! With DD taking part in it this past summer, it made it even better.

Love the candy lady as well!! Both kids and my nephew have participated with her doing this. It's too bad that because of the FDA getting involved she is no longer able to give the kids their chosen displays.

Coral Reef gets a bum rap here sometimes, I think. I have eaten there 3 times now and have always had great food and wonderful service. LOVED the mousse there!

I think I'm all caught up Lisa!

:wave2: :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about the oven, but new appliances are always fun! (I think that's when I first knew I'd grown up-appliance shopping was fun).

I love my new appliances!

I wish that Lacey and Jessie could join you, but it sounds like they're doing what's best for them. I'm sure it makes you proud to see them making such smart financial decisions. We're in the same boat with my little brother-he was going to join us this year. The beauty of being a WDW nut is that there will always be other trips!

It makes me very proud to know that they have their heads on straight and have their priorities in order. Oh yeah, there's always next year.

Glad to hear that Mama got home safely, but too bad about your weekend away. That's disappointing.

We were really looking forward to surprising her and spending the weekend in New Orleans but, oh well.

Pick a pearl is on my list of things to do. I keep waiting until Maddie is older and we can do it together though-maybe after she ages out of BBB? It looks like such fun, and a unique souvenir.

I bet that Maddie would love doing Pick-A-Pearl. I can just see her anxiously watching to see what pearl she got.

I think we are finally going to try Coral Reef this year! Maddie is not understanding the concept of "aquarium walls" so I'm going to show her your pictures when she gets home from school! :thumbsup2

You might want to look at KatMark's pictures too. Seems like she had some pics of the restaurant in her report.

So where's the picture of the pearl in it's new setting?

Nice pictures walking around Epcot. Love the Hunter hat picture in France. :)

Thanks to you, we went back to Coral Reef a few years ago and we really enjoy it (the girls and I will be eating there in June). I love the Chocolate Wave and will gladly have one for you too. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I really need to get my pearls out and take pictures for ya'll to see. Maybe I can remember to do that this evening.

We were supposed to eat at Coral Reef again next trip because it was Jesse's pic. I think that we're going to give Rose & Crown another try.

It's a shame they won't let you keep the shell but I suppose it's saving me money :rotfl:

My kids don't want to watch the candy lady now that she doesn't give it to the audience, they're all about the free stuff :rotfl2:

It is a shame, isn't it?

Oh I know all about getting excited about free stuff! I love it too!

"This is the Bailey’s something or other mousse thingamabob. Not to be confused with the Bail’s something or other mouse thingamadilly. Got that? Good! Remember to go in there and order that exact thing next time you visit. "

oooookk....got that!! I will order that thingamabob and not the thigamadilly for sure!! LOL:rotfl2:

( at last someone that speaks my launguage!!!)

Heck yeah, there's a difference between thingamabob and a thingamadilly. :rotfl:

MMMM, that food looks really good. I am so hungry today for some reason..probably because I am trying to diet.

Jen, I always seem to look at food pictures when I am most hungry. :sad1:

Great updates, as usual! I'm so sad that the Candy Lady is gone from Japan. She was always on my "must do" list. As least I never missed her on any of our trips. Does anyone know why she is gone, or where she went?

I just read that the candy lady is no longer appearing in Epcot (or anywhere as far as I know). Sad. She was really cool and unique to see!

Glad your Mom had a good time on her cruise. what ship was she on?

She sailed from New Orleans on the Carnival Elation. She said that the ship was immaculate and the crew was fantastic. Just not sure that cruising is for her.

Looks like you had a great meal at Coral Reef, I enjoyed that place the 2 times I have been there.

We've eaten there many times and it's always been good.

Sorry about the weather and having to cancel your trip to New Orleans. Ice is scary. Snow is bad, but ice is worse. Glad everyone was safe and your Mama had a good time.

Oh yeah, ice is definitely scarier than snow. Usually, that's what we get around here...freezing rain and ice. :crazy2: Well, that's if we get anything.

Jesse looks like a little kid watching the candy lady!

Didn't he?!

I love when you do pick a pearl! My 7 year old said she might want to do that this year when I told her about it.

I've seen a lot of kids doing the pick a pearl. It's fun to see how excited people get when their oyster is opened.

The food at Coral Reef looks delish! It's on our list for sure this year. My husband wants to try the Baily's thingamabob. :rotfl2:

The Bailey's thingamabob is Jesse's favorite. :thumbsup2

And, we did our taxes, and have MORE than enough for Disney. We were just wanting for the confirmation, so we're on for sure in September!

Yeah baby! :cool1:

Great updates!

Mama said that the France film makes her feel funny sometimes and reminds her of Soarin without the moving seats. It kinda does now that I think about it.

Haven't seen the candy lady in forever, either!

I read something this week that said she was going to stop doing her show at Epcot. :sad1:

Your dinner at Coral Reef looked fantastic! How was John's lobster pasta? Nate gets the steak there and really likes it. We have been to Coral Reef many times and considered on our last trip, but stuck with La Hacienda instead.

John said that the lobster pasta was good but not as good at the lobster ravioli that they used to serve. We've decided to forego Coral Reef next trip and try Rose & Crown again.

I was wondering the same thing!

You know how I've been slacking in the picture taking department the last few weeks. I'll try to remember to take one tonight.

Has Mark tried on that particular chapeau?

The candy lady is pretty amazing! What a gift!

I am sooo not at artsy kind of gal and would love to have talent like the candy lady.

I wish that I could remember exactly where that Hidden Mickey was.

Jesse's was some sort of Asian inspired entrée. The think to the right was a roll that tasted like a rice cracker.

I'm working from home today and finally remembered to upload the pirate room pictures from CBR so here they are!

The beds when we first arrived:

My oldest "driving" the bed, and you can see the barrel nightstand too.

Closeup of the nightstand with pirate towel person:

Bed with the privacy curtain:

Trunk drawer. My daughter took all the pillows out and used it as her treasure chest.

Side view of the bed:

That's all from the rooms, but Lisa, do you know what this is? My kids call them Mr. Happy. My husband thinks they might be to tie boats to?

And one more. Here's me and my oldest DH in 2011 near the playground:

Thanks for letting me share them on your TR!

Hah! I mean that last picture is my oldest DD! Not oldest DH. I only have one of those and he's more manly and quite a bit older! :lmao:

I love Jesse's and Hunter's total opposite reactions. Everytime I read about Coral Reef I want to try it. But then I see bad reviews. I am still undecided.

Their expressions were definitely opposite! I have read some not so great reviews about Coral Reef too but I can honestly say that we've never had a bad meal or service there.

Loved all the updates!!!

The girls in Japan definitely get into their jobs and make picking a pearl a full blown production. It adds to the experience.

It's good to hear that we aren't the only ones who have had great meals at the Coral Reef. We've always enjoyed it.

I read that today too! I always liked to watch her make her creations. I have no clue why she is leaving but it seems that several different acts/people are leaving Epcot.

I just read that the candy lady is no longer appearing in Epcot (or anywhere as far as I know). Sad. She was really cool and unique to see!

I saw that this morning. It's sad because, like you said, she did something so neat and unique.

Yay for pictures of the pirate rooms! I would love to stay in them one day. Just haven't made myself shell out the extra money for them yet.

When I questioned what the "Mr. Happy" s were, someone on the Dis said that they were put in place to keep people from riding the bicycles/surrey bikes down the pathway. If I ever run into a castmember during one of my walks, I'm going to ask them and see what the official word is.

Hah! I mean that last picture is my oldest DD! Not oldest DH. I only have one of those and he's more manly and quite a bit older! :lmao:

And probably a little hairier too!:rotfl:

Thanks so much for sharing the pictures! I'm going to put the link in my "link list" post.

Yeah, he's a LOT harier!

Thanks for the input on the Mr. Happy's. I bet you're right!

thank you so much for showing the pirate room pics!! we are trying so hard this year to stretch the budget to them...every year we just dont quite manage it and always come up short...praying this year we can make it happen..they look amazing..my kids would just love them :)

Did you hear that Myuki no longer creates at Epcot? :confused3 We've never seen her but it was ALWAYS on my to do list....kinda bummed that we missed it.

Thanks for sharing pics of your dinner at Coral Reef! It looks good. We had that scheduled as an ADR on one of our trips but so many poor reviews scared us away and I cancelled it.

Your Bailey's thingamabob looks really good.

Stay warm!

Yeah, he's a LOT harier!

Thanks for the input on the Mr. Happy's. I bet you're right!

I had no idea what the Mr. Happys were. I thought they might be those cigarette things that they put near store doors for people to put their cigarette butts in. But, he didn't have a butt slot. That sounds SOOOOO wrong. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Aren't the pictures great?! If we weren't being comped two nights (water view) on our next trip, I may just splurge on the pirate rooms. Hope that you are able to save up the extra money. If not, then at least know you're still at an amazing resort.
