1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

I missed the whole water pipe scenario....was that on FB too?

Holy Batman...that is a LOT of people at bag check. I really wish I could figure out a way NOT to carry a bag to the parks. :faint:

Good call on the FB for Test Track and then did Mission (I cannot do that...green card or no green card) then heading over to get one for Soarin'. Too funny that John couldn't understand the wait. He sounds just like Mark. Mark wanted to know WHY we couldn't go back to a ride in August after dinner instead of at 3 p.m. when it was expiring (obviously he doesn't LISTEN to me when I tell him about the changes made).

How neat that you found someone with one of your bags! I bet that just about made your day. :goodvibes

No, I didn't put that part of facebook because the boss's brother is a friend on Facebook. I didn't want him seeing me complain about no water and say something to my boss. Here on the Dis, I know he won't see it.

Me too! I thought about doing like Dee does and load up everybody's pockets, folding one of my backsacks and loading everything up when we get through the turnstile.

What are we going to do with our men? I guess keep 'em since we've already trained them the best we can after so many years. :lmao:

How neat that you found someone with one of your bags! I bet that just about made your day. :goodvibes

It did! I never thought that I'd see one there.

Well, there! I got caught up again. Couldn't stand the pressure. :lmao:

Wow, that's some line at EPCOT bag check. I was trying to think if I have waited in that line, then I remembered our past few stays have been at the Beach Club so we come in through the International Gateway. That line can back up, too, but more in a single-file sort of way.

May I say that Lacey and Jesse are just too cute together? Love the picture in M:S and under the umbrella.

I love Living with the Land and TTA as well,, but I never really saw the connection between the two, but now that you have pointed it out, they are similar experiences.

HOW COOL IS IT THAT THE WOMAN HAD ONE OF YOUR BACKSACKS!

I just sure hope you would approach me if you saw me with one of mine in the parks or elsewhere. Except if we are ever in the parks at the same time, we are scheduling a meet-up!

Wow I have never seen that many people in bag check. I wish I could go without a bag and I only carry a Vera Bradley mini hipster but I need to have a camera, a phone and money and feel safer with it in a crossbody bag.

Wow to think someone had the bag you made ! Well it's a small world after all :thumbsup2. I would of went up to her and told her :cool1:

I don't ever remember being in such a long bag check line. I wish that they had some sort of system that made people form a single line instead of everybody just moving forward and together.

May I say that Lacey and Jesse are just too cute together? Love the picture in M:S and under the umbrella.

Aww, I will be sure to tell her you said that.

For sure I'd approach you. And, as you said, there'd be a designated meet up time.

Do you like the mini-hipster? I'm afraid that it would be too small for me.

A lot of my bags are sold on ebay so I don't "know" the people like I do when I sell them to folks on the Dis. It was hard not to approach her though.

Oh no about the burst pipes. What a pain in the butt. Glad everything is back to normal.

That stinks about your Mama's cruise tickets. It's a good thing she has you to be loud and make a stink!

Holy bag check line. I can't wait for the day we don't have to take a bag into the parks, but with a 7 and 4 year old, that is many years off.

LOL about John and the fastpasses. I guess if he never gets them he wouldn't realize that. I'm still not sure how I feel about the magic bands and only 3 fast passes per day. I wonder what John will think of that?

Living with the land looks awesome as always. I can't wait to ride that next time we go.

And cool about seeing one of your bags in the park! It looks just like my girls' dresses! (which they have been wearing a ton. I have to get more pics of them.)

Oh, and pirate room pics, I will post some if you'd like me too. I'll have to wait until I get home, but we have tons of them there, and I'd be happy to share!

Since Kathy asked and you mentioned it- and it shows just how useful your backsacks truly are- I am going to post the ways we use your string bags to make life and bag check simpler when we tour the parks. I added this info to the FAQ section of the Beach & Yacht Club thread after our trip in July.

Can you explain "String-Bag Theory" to me?

Well, I am no physicist, but yes I can!

Some of you know that I have an unhealthy obsession with string bags and Ziplocs.

1) On days when we don't need ponchos, we try to only bring what we can carry through in our hands or pockets. Folded backsack(s) in back pocket. Cell Phones and small point & shoot cameras in shorts pockets or larger camera hanging around neck (no camera bag)- extra memory cards/batteries in pockets. Carry bottles of water.

Once you are through bag check, you can take the folded backsack out of your back pocket and empty the things in your pockets, plus the drinks, into the sack to make it easier to carry.

2) This is how we packed our ponchos for the Disney parks last week.

We rolled our ponchos into a large (2 or 2 1/2 gallon bag). Any other stuff we brought into the parks, like moleskin, extra memory cards, camera batteries and journals for notes, went into another, smaller plastic bag. We also carried another empty large ziploc to keep everything dry if it rained. We would wear the ponchos and then the string bag and contents would fit into the bag. When it stopped raining, we tried to wring out the ponchos, roll them up and place them back in their bag so they didn't get everything else wet.

It was great going through bag check. We had two clear see-through bags that the checkers didn't even have to open- just look and give a quick squeeze. Someone else carried the deflated string bag in their pocket. Once past that point, the two bags went back into the string bag.

PS- my bag was custom made by DISer Mickeystoontown. She often adds a Mickey Head outline decoration to the bag but I preferred to have mine without one.

PPS- the observant reader may notice that some of these bags are Hefty, not Ziploc. A rose by any other name...

:cool1:I love the mini hipster. I always used to carry a big bag and my daughter said I was like the queen always with my pocketbook. :rotfl2:Anyway I got the mini hipster for Disney a couple of years ago and now it is all I carry. I put credit cards, ins cards etc. in slots inside. Cash in outside zipped section. I do empty change every night for my Disney fund. Then inside I have my checkbook, cell phone, camera (if on a trip), pen band aids, eyeglass repair kit, lip gloss. I have glasses with transition lens so I don't use sun glasses. I find it very handy. And no more heavy bags.:cool1:

Do you have additional links to your TR? The last I read was "she's got my bag"......help? :confused3

Kimmy, I'm thinking since you are new that perhaps you don't realize that you can go to the first page of this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3122381 and then read page by page instead of relying on links to individual posts. The bag post is on page 128.

Lisa, for the record: IF I ever go to WDW again, and IF you happen to be there too, and you see me with your backpack, you BETTER say Hi! I'd love to meet you and thank you for my marvelous backpack. :)

Hi Lisa!:goodvibes I'm still here and all caught up again.:thumbsup2 I won't comment on everything because I was so behind but I've really enjoyed reading all of your adventures. It's helped cheer me up since I've had the Disney blues the last few months. (we decided to postpone our trip until next year:()

Anyway, let's see if I can remember at least a few things I wanted to comment on.....

I loved all your pictures on Mission Space. We still haven't braved that yet! So, it gave me an idea what to expect! Great job for doing the orange side!

Okay, I have to admit I skimmed through the snake story.:scared1: We've only saw one at Disney on our last trip walking around Pop Century at night along the water. Ugh...just thinking of it still gives me chills. But, I did enjoy reading about Boma! We've only had breakfast there and loved it. Hoping to try dinner on our next trip!

Yay for the surprise to see Cirque!!:cool1: And so glad to hear Lacey and Jesse are joining you on your upcoming trip!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle.

Also, the frozen pipes and Mama's cruise tickets. How stressful for you.

On a brighter note though.....that's so cool that you saw one of your backsacks!!:thumbsup2

This is all out of order, but it's what I remember, so…

She HAD your bag! :cool1: lol! That's so fun that you saw your creation being used by someone IN the parks! :goodvibes

Boo to the bathroom issues at work! We've had several friends around us with busted pipes. This cold has been a boon for the plumbers in the area!

Love all the pictures of CBR. Cortlyn especially liked the pirate ship in the pool area. She said "I wanna stay there!" :rolleyes1 Kid… momma wants to stay at POR. Maybe next trip!

And about EPCOT. It's so funny, because we LOVE EPCOT with the kids. I was really concerned Cortlyn wouldn't enjoy it- but honestly, I think it's a MUCH better park than HS for her! Of course, HS has the Disney Junior stuff, but other than that, she LOVES to go to the Kidcot areas and we spend no less than an hour in the Seas (not just the Nemo ride- I mean, back there in the Aquarium part!). And it looks like Catie might be able to ride Soaring, so that could be even BETTER! WOoohoo!

Well first of all, glad to hear your workplace facilities are working again! My DH is a plumber, so I hear every day about the cold workers he works hard to help when pipes bust!
Holy busy Epcot, Batman! Whoa!
I always go green team on MS. But mostly just because I'm a bit of a wimp. :confused3 :rotfl:
Too funny that John didn't realize how the FPs worked! Glad you were able to make the system work for you though :thumbsup2
Must be such a cool feeling to see one of your bags in the park!

Hey Lady! I have been so far behind that I sat down and went back and read the entire report this morning! (thank you for links!) Enjoyed every crazy moment of it although now (as if I weren't already) am craving a warm weather trip that has break days at a beautiful resort for more than 4-5 days! Ugh...thanks a lot for making me plot a possible return trip! :rotfl:

I have another question. How long did it take for you to eat at T-REX ? Including wait times. I'm trying to make reservations for T-REX and the Cirque du Soleil for the same night and dont know how much time to allow between. Thanks for your help :thumbsup2

That's pretty darn cool that you found a duplicate of your backpack. Must make you feel great when you see that. I have a bag with that same print. Your's is adorable.

So John really didn't know how FP's worked? That's too funny! What would he do without you? :rotfl2:

That bag check. O.M.G. :faint: That is insane!!!!!!!

Morning ya'll! I had thought that I'd get an update posted yesterday but things have been a little "off" here at the office.

You see, the cold weather came blowing in and our pipes froze. Did I still have to come to work? You betcha. Did my boss? Well, he came in one of the three days because he had court. The other two days, he was dealing with frozen pipes at his house and a car that wouldn't start.

It's been "interesting" to say the least. Picture me in an office with no bathroom. Or maybe you don't want to do that.:scared: Thank goodness we are just a block from the courthouse and I can walk down there and use the facilities. The bathroom is up and running today. :cool1: Who would have thought that you'd have to have a dancing smiley when talking about a working toilet? :lmao:

For those of you who are friends with me on Facebook, you know the other issue that I've been dealing with.

My mother and 68 other State Retirees are set to board a cruise ship out of New Orleans on the 20th of this month. None of them had received their travel packages or even a booking/confirmation number. All they had was a letter stating that they were booked. Mama was getting worried about not receiving anything and started trying to call the travel agent. It was a pain in the rear end even trying to reach her.

The travel agent spouted off all sorts of stories (my Mama and Daddy didn't let us use the word lie so we say stories) about why they hadn't been mailed, then changed it to that they had been mailed, would be emailed, etc.

Long story short, I have pitched several fits over the last two or three days and I now have confirmation that Mama will have her packet in her hand on Friday. It's being hand delivered to her by one of the people on the State Retirees Board. It's been a real nightmare and not the way any of these retirees wanted to start off their trip.

Mama has made several comments in the past that I can get too aggressive but I'm betting dollars to donuts that she's glad that I am. :rotfl:

I'm working on a couple of new pleadings but once they are off my desk and on my boss's desk, I'll get to work on the new update.

Why on earth wasn't she given a confirmation number the day she booked? She needs that to go online and take care of anything pre cruise and to book any excursions? What line is she goin on? Did she get her stuff yet?????

ok back to catching up, but this was driving me nuts when I saw it. There are TA's that take advantage of people and take their money sadly.

Oh no about the burst pipes. What a pain in the butt. Glad everything is back to normal.

I was more than happy when the pipes finally thawed out!

That stinks about your Mama's cruise tickets. It's a good thing she has you to be loud and make a stink!

Yeah, 'cause my other two sisters didn't. I guess they knew that I'd take care of it.

Holy bag check line. I can't wait for the day we don't have to take a bag into the parks, but with a 7 and 4 year old, that is many years off.

I remember those days of being a pack mule. :rotfl:

LOL about John and the fastpasses. I guess if he never gets them he wouldn't realize that. I'm still not sure how I feel about the magic bands and only 3 fast passes per day. I wonder what John will think of that?

I have no idea what he's been thinking was going on all those years. He's thinking that the magic bands will work out better. I guess that's because I'll still be the one who will be doing the Fastpass "getting". ;)

Living with the land looks awesome as always. I can't wait to ride that next time we go.

I've always like Living with the Land and we ride it at least once every trip.

And cool about seeing one of your bags in the park! It looks just like my girls' dresses! (which they have been wearing a ton. I have to get more pics of them.)

It makes me so happy that the girls liked the dresses so much. Feel free to posting more pictures!

Oh, and pirate room pics, I will post some if you'd like me too. I'll have to wait until I get home, but we have tons of them there, and I'd be happy to share!

I'd be more than happy to see the pictures of the pirate rooms! I have a lot of folks who come over from the CBR thread to see pictures of the rooms and resort grounds. When you get time, post them and I'll give you a shout out in the second post.:woohoo:

:cool1:I love the mini hipster. I always used to carry a big bag and my daughter said I was like the queen always with my pocketbook. :rotfl2:Anyway I got the mini hipster for Disney a couple of years ago and now it is all I carry. I find it very handy. And no more heavy bags.:cool1:

I get emails from Vera Bradley all of the time and they sometimes put the mini hipster on sale. I may just have to buy one.

Do you have additional links to your TR? The last I read was "she's got my bag"......help? :confused3

The second post has links to all of my installments so far. I have also written other trip reports and can find the links to those if you'd like.

Lisa, for the record: IF I ever go to WDW again, and IF you happen to be there too, and you see me with your backpack, you BETTER say Hi! I'd love to meet you and thank you for my marvelous backpack. :)

Of course, I'd stop and say HI!
