1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

Still haven't caught up to you but I read a few more updates.

Also skimmed through some recent comments and just wanted to let you know that I'm sending positive thoughts to you and your family.

Always great to have Mama return to you all, but it sounds like she had a pleasant afternoon.

Amazing pictures in the RNR queue- the control room and the ride.

Lip:

Phew! I'm glad that a potentially unpleasant episode resolved without any major damage or discomfort. Kudos to the waitress for backing off when she needed to.

We haven't been to Mama Melrose since 2008. We liked it, but I don't think we have been to HS at dinnertime and lunch is always Sci Fi.

I really love the picture of John, you and Mama, and the one of the "kids"

OMG- Mama's description of Star Tours was epic! If I recall correctly, you have not seen any of the Star Wars movies yet. Or am I making that up?

Satin Gown:

Mama's comment about Flo from Progressive cracked me up! :rotfl2: I will never be able to watch those commercials without smiling and thinking of her.

Fantasmic- great dancing and fun pictures from the show.

Fridge- you can't even imagine how much I loved the update about what you can fit in the fridge. I am always doing the same sort of thing for the Yacht & Beach Club FAQ. I even brought along a tape measure so I could get the dimensions of the safe, and I "timed" the lazy river- It takes 7 minutes to do one circuit without any additional propulsion

Photopass- Great pictures, especially RNR and ToT. Is Lacey holding her breath until it is over? Hunter looks like he is doing ok on ToT.

Just as I was about to say how cute the bats are (yes I love them!) then comes the picture with the bat and his huge "male parts" :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm with your mama on this, Animal Kingdom slap wears me out.

Yeah for multiple updates!!

Great update! The pictures were great!
Wow it looked very gruesome and painful for that poor deer. I hope he is okay. AK is amazing! I have never ventured out onto the trails, but it looks like there are quite a few prime viewing spots for the animals. I'm with John, those bat gross me out. Too many germs! FOTLK is my favorite show! I especially enjoy the tumble monkeys!

I will never pick on John again for napping or being on the phone since he is a man after my own heart and doesn't like the bats!!!! I refuse to go in that building -- EVER!

I wish you could find the photo of Hunter when he was little and reached the Hidden Mickey.

I wonder what Momma was talking to the CM about?

Tiger pictures are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a "hot" but nice afternoon.

Wow - You got some GREAT pictures of the tigers. They are beautiful animals. Denny and I are going to Tampa in February and they have a Big Cat Rescue there. I really would like to check it out but you can only tour at 3pm in the afternoon, so we'll see.

The love the M trek. It's my favorite anywhere. I'm also a big fan of the bats. They are so super cool. Glad you got John in there.

Beautiful pictures of all the animals.

And some great pics of Hunter. Too bad you missed the Dinosaur shot.

Glad Mama was enjoying herself!

Holy cow one of those tiger pictures looked like you were actually IN the enclosure with them.

Love the bird pics. They are so pretty and brightly colored.

And ouch about that antler. I suppose it probably doesn't really hurt them, maybe like losing a tooth? But man, it looks painful!

I am finally caught up and there is so much I wanted to comment on and I am drawing a blank now. LOL

I am loving your AK day now. It really makes my heart do a little pang to get back to Disney soon. It's cold and snowy here today and i just want to go south!!!

Looks like John was listening patiently to the story your Momma was telling the CM too.

The shirts she made are great.
Nice gorilla shots.
ITTBAB is one of my faves.
FOTLK is great.
Love the tiger pics.
I have caught up again.

Well you finally got some animals pictures after the safari!! :rotfl:

Oh the hidden Mickeys on that wall! Woohoo we are going to have to find them on our next trip!

OMG that poor "deer"!!! How in the world??? Oh that must have hurt! I would have been scarred for life after seeing that. Surely painful things like that don't happen to the animals at Disney right??? Geez!!!

Be sure to check out ALL of the mural on the trail because there are a lot of them.

It does look like the antlers falling off would have hurt but we were told that it doesn't. Tell that to the deer who has two bloody looking holes in his head.

I have never walked either animal trail. Definitely a must do for this trip. Bummer on missing Dinosaur. It is one of our favorites too.

How cool that you saw the tigers being fed!!! Nice of the CM to get them up and moving. :goodvibes

It was so neat to watch the castmember feeding the tigers. Normally, they are lying down in the shade.

Still haven't caught up to you but I read a few more updates.

Also skimmed through some recent comments and just wanted to let you know that I'm sending positive thoughts to you and your family.

Thanks Dee!

Next time, I'll have to remember to hold the camera a certain way so the video isn't lopsided. :sad2:

I have no clue what her problem was but she had a major attitude which wouldn't have gone over well even if everybody had been feeling well.

We haven't been to Mama Melrose since 2008. We liked it, but I don't think we have been to HS at dinnertime and lunch is always Sci Fi.

I think that next trip, we are skipping a table service meal at HS and saving the credit for Hoop Dee Doo Review.

I really love the picture of John, you and Mama, and the one of the "kids"

Thank you!

OMG- Mama's description of Star Tours was epic! If I recall correctly, you have not seen any of the Star Wars movies yet. Or am I making that up?

I haven't seen a single one of them. :rolleyes1
Satin Gown:

Mama's comment about Flo from Progressive cracked me up! :rotfl2: I will never be able to watch those commercials without smiling and thinking of her.

If Flo would just comb that ratty hair all would be righ tin the world.

I'm on the CBR thread quite a bit and had someone ask about the fridge size so, naturally, we had to move stuff around and see how much we could fit. I had no idea that it would take 7 minutes to go all the way around the lazy river at Y&BC.

Photopass- Great pictures, especially RNR and ToT. Is Lacey holding her breath until it is over? Hunter looks like he is doing ok on ToT.

Hunter actually did do well on ToT which surprised me. Thankfully, Lacey was not holding her breath the whole time.

Just as I was about to say how cute the bats are (yes I love them!) then comes the picture with the bat and his huge "male parts" :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yeah for multiple updates!!

The male bats are definitely "well endowed" and it's hard not to get a pic without them showing "it" off.

Great update! The pictures were great!

The trails at Animal Kingdom are my favorite things about the park. I don't know if you still can but you used to could venture all around the trails underneath the Tree of Life. Not sure if you still can since the limbs fell and they installed the netting.

I will never pick on John again for napping or being on the phone since he is a man after my own heart and doesn't like the bats!!!! I refuse to go in that building -- EVER!

I've never really thought about bats being nasty but if you look at them pretty closely, they kinda sorta are.

I wish you could find the photo of Hunter when he was little and reached the Hidden Mickey.

I'm sure that it's in one of the many boxes of pictures in the closet but I have so much junk out still from the remodel that I can't make myself pull out another box.

I wonder what Momma was talking to the CM about?

There is no telling.

Tiger pictures are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a "hot" but nice afternoon.

It was a very nice but a bit hot afternoon!

Wow - You got some GREAT pictures of the tigers. They are beautiful animals. Denny and I are going to Tampa in February and they have a Big Cat Rescue there. I really would like to check it out but you can only tour at 3pm in the afternoon, so we'll see.

Oh that would be sooooo cool to visit! There's an elephant sanctuary in Arkansas and I always say that we should visit but never do.

I hated that we missed out on riding Dinosaur but Mama would have probably sat it out anyway.

That was one of the rare occasions when we have seen the tigers moving around so much.

I want to know what deer told them that it doesn't hurt to lose their antlers.

I am finally caught up and there is so much I wanted to comment on and I am drawing a blank now. LOL

Holiday numbness! :lmao:

I am loving your AK day now. It really makes my heart do a little pang to get back to Disney soon. It's cold and snowy here today and i just want to go south!!!

It's been hot and it's been cold here. The lows will be in the 20s and the high this week is supposed to be 67. Dumb weather!

Looks like John was listening patiently to the story your Momma was telling the CM too.

Whatever it was that Mama was talking about must have been interesting.

The shirts she made are great.
Nice gorilla shots.
ITTBAB is one of my faves.
FOTLK is great.
Love the tiger pics.
I have caught up again.

Welcome back from Disney Scott!

Sorry that I haven't had a chance to update since last week. John has another doctor's appointment this afternoon and I'm waiting on a phone call from the doctor since I couldn't get off to go with him. Once that's done, I'll come back and give ya'll an update on what's going on medically and possibly a Disney update. Thanks for hanging in there!

Great photopass pictures, Lisa.

Keeping fingers crossed for good news from the doctor.

Life update:

About two weeks ago, I called John on my way home (it was a Friday at noon) and he didn't answer but he did call back. I was surprised that he wasn't home (he doesn't work on Fridays now) since he didn't say anything about going anywhere. He called me back and when I asked where he was, he said that he had been to the doctor.

Of course, I got worried and asked what for. He said that he had noticed a while back that he had a small lump on his neck but he hadn't told me about it. One of co-workers' dad is a doctor and he had called and set up an appointment for him to go in. He saw the nurse practitioner.

I was not only worried but I was mad as a hornet. I couldn't believe that he didn't say anything to me about it and he said that he thought that he was "doing good" by not telling me until he had it checked out. They gave him ten days worth of antibiotics.

Annnnyway, the nurse practitioner ordered an ultrasound and it was done two Fridays ago. The radiology technician wasn't supposed to tell us anything but she showed us the lump on the screen and said that there were no blood vessels going to it nor was it attached to anything and there wasn't much to it so she didn't think that we had anything to worry about. She told us that a lot of nurse practitioners are overly cautious and order all sorts of tests.

We let a week go by and hadn't heard from the doctor's office so we called and they finally called him back Friday afternoon. They said that it was a "soft mass" and they could remove it either by lancing it or by cutting it out. "If we can do anything else for you, let us know." Whaaaaaat?

John just called from his neurologist's office. The doctor said that it didn't look like anything to worry about and that his labs came back fine. He said that he could give us a referral for an ENT and see if they wanted to proceed further but it was our choice. We don't have health insurance on John because no one will cover him since he was injured at work so whatever is done will have to be paid out of pocket and we're fine with that.

The lump is so small that I didn't even know that it was there and John said that it had gone down since he took the antibiotics. Honestly, you can't see it at all. John said that it could have been there for quite some time and he didn't even notice it before.

So, I think that we've decided to just keep sharp eye on it and see if we notice any changes. We're going to talk it over some more this evening. Prayers and positive thoughts are greatly appreciated!

So sorry to hear about hubby's medical issue. Glad it was nothing too serious. Hope it stays that way.

Great Safari pictures. You remind me of Charlie Brown.
:lmao:EXACTLY what I was going to say!

Pizza! Acid! & Stinky Farts

Jesse’s vegetable and pasta salad and a cheesecake in a glass with a citrus glaze on top:

John’s hot italian sandwich with chips:

Wow for some reason I am soo hungry today and these photos just killed me! I had to break down & eat a few baked chips.

Do you spy what I spy?

what is that in there? a little frog???

Every since that darn limb fell out, there’s netting around the tree and it blocks your view:

I love the detail on the tree of life. and hate the mesh "safety" wiring.
It’s kind of sad that they never made the land of the mythical creatures but yet there are little touches of them here and there:

Okay I give, what is in there???

I finally watched AVATAR recently and can completely see how/why they would want to do a Pandora section in Animal Kingdom.
Nothing like a chunk of red meat to get the juices flowing!

WOW you got some great tiger shots!!!

oK I had lots of photos I was going to comment on but have to post this & head out to get Katie. I managed to sneak a bit of DIS time in atw ork today shhhhh

your TRs are so much fun Lisa,

love your comments and funny and fun-loving family!

Glad to hear that John's lump was pretty insignificant medically speaking & that its gone down with meds. Hope it stays that way!

Catching up in a backwards sort of way...

I read your life update about John. I'm glad that the doctors do not seem overly concerned. Like you said, best thing to do is keep your eye on the situation and follow-up if anything doesn't seem quite right.

I'm sure it has been a scary couple of weeks of "what-ifs". Waiting for test results is so difficult!

Sending positive thoughts your way.

Love love love your AK photopass pictures!!! It is great when there is unintentional color coordination. The ride photos are too cute- Jesse and Lacey definitely did a great job with the poses.

I would have given my husband a big kick in the you know what if he kept anything like that for me. I'm glad that the doctor at the neurologist's office thinks it is nothing to be concerned about, but smart keeping an eye on it. I'm sure it's been a nerve-wracking couple of weeks.
