1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

I'm glad John's lump was nothing serious. Good to keep an eye though. I had a sebaceous cyst on my back a few years ago. It did burst and they removed what was there and no more problem. Won't Obamacare guarantee him insurance? What about disability for his seizures? It is scary not having health care. We wouldn't want medical issues to cut into Disney trips:rotfl2:

All caught up again. Looks like you had a wonderful afternoon at AK!! We have never seen them feeding the tigers. That must have been so cool. We have seen the tigers playing in the water before, though. That was neat.

The photopass pictures are really good shots. Lacey and Jessie's pose on Dinosaur was funny.

Hoping all goes well with John. It almost sounded like the docs were describing a fluid filled cyst at first. But then you said it started to go away with antibiotics which makes me think lymph node more. :confused3 Those will sometimes enlarge when the immune system is working hard to help you fight an infection. Will say prayers and think good thoughts that it is nothing more than that.

Hi Lisa! Great Animal Kingdom update!! I'm with John on this one though....I could do without it. However, I do love EE!!! Love all the Photopass pictures too! They came out great!!

Sorry to hear about John's medical issue! Men always think they are doing good keeping things from us women!!! :rolleyes2 Glad it turned out to be nothing serious! Praying it stays that way! Hope you're all set for Christmas! Will you be seeing Lacey & Jesse? (not sure if I missed news about that or not) Looking forward to another update! I will be keeping John in my prayers!

:lmao:EXACTLY what I was going to say!

Wow for some reason I am soo hungry today and these photos just killed me! I had to break down & eat a few baked chips.

It seems like I always look at food pictures right around lunch time or when I've eaten a plain old dumb sandwich.

what is that in there? a little frog???

There's a lizard on the right side of the pic.

I love the detail on the tree of life. and hate the mesh "safety" wiring.

I understand that the mesh netting is there for safety but it totally screwed up the view from the bottom of the tree.

Okay I give, what is in there???

See the rocks? They form the shape of a dragon's head. The water is coming from the mouth of the dragon.

I finally watched AVATAR recently and can completely see how/why they would want to do a Pandora section in Animal Kingdom.

I've never seen Avatar so I'm not sure if it will work with the park or not. Guess we'll see.

WOW you got some great tiger shots!!!

Thank you!

oK I had lots of photos I was going to comment on but have to post this & head out to get Katie. I managed to sneak a bit of DIS time in atw ork today shhhhh

your TRs are so much fun Lisa,

Thanks! We are a pretty fun lovin' bunch

love your comments and funny and fun-loving family!

Glad to hear that John's lump was pretty insignificant medically speaking & that its gone down with meds. Hope it stays that way!

Hopefully, there will be no changes!

Catching up in a backwards sort of way...

I read your life update about John. I'm glad that the doctors do not seem overly concerned. Like you said, best thing to do is keep your eye on the situation and follow-up if anything doesn't seem quite right.

I'm sure it has been a scary couple of weeks of "what-ifs". Waiting for test results is so difficult!

Sending positive thoughts your way.

Thank you Dee! It's been worrisome for sure. John's had a few facial twitches too but I'm sure that's from the stress and has nothing to do with the lump.

Love love love your AK photopass pictures!!! It is great when there is unintentional color coordination. The ride photos are too cute- Jesse and Lacey definitely did a great job with the poses.

I think that the AK photopass pictures are some of my favorites because the colors pop with the greenery in the background. Lacey & Jesse did an excellent posing job.

I would have given my husband a big kick in the you know what if he kept anything like that for me. I'm glad that the doctor at the neurologist's office thinks it is nothing to be concerned about, but smart keeping an eye on it. I'm sure it's been a nerve-wracking couple of weeks.

Oh honey! I could have chewed nails I was so mad. But, one look at his face told me that he really truly did think that he was doing me a favor. Dumb bunny!

We may go to the ENT after the holidays and just see what they think about it. For now, we are in wait and see mode.

We are hoping that it's nothing serious but will keep an eye on it. I've looked into Obamacare and the cost is almost $1,000 a month! :faint: I thought that this was supposed to be affordable healthcare?

Oh how cool that the tigers were in the water playing! That would have been neat to see.

I wish that we had all gone on Dinosaur but I know that Mama would have wanted to sit it out.

The lump is so very small that I can't even see it and can barely feel it. John even has trouble locating it on his kneck. I'll take every single prayer and thought that you can give!

Oh and the doctors said everything with his thyroid and lymph nodes were fine.

I thought that the Photopass pictures were some of the best that we had taken this trip.

He truly thought that he was doing something good by not telling me and making me worry.

We were bad this year and didn't decorate the house until this past weekend! I am running so behind because we are still doing a bit of remodeling.

Lacey and Jesse are coming to the house for almost a whole week! I'm so excited! They are set to head this way on Saturday morning so they'll be here that afternoon/evening.

Thank so much for the prayers!

So glad to hear John's health scare was nothing! I did the same thing a few years ago. I had a bone scan come back positive and they told me they were trying to rule out bone cancer. I didn't tell my parents until after a follow up test. It was fine, it ended up being a benign cyst, but I totally see where John is coming from on that one.

We are hoping that it's nothing serious but will keep an eye on it. I've looked into Obamacare and the cost is almost $1,000 a month! :faint: I thought that this was supposed to be affordable healthcare?

$1000 a month?! Oh My! I guess this is like how my premium went up $60 a month, yet a medication that used to cost me $30 is now free......hmmm.

Thank goodness you didn't have anything other than the cyst and no bone cancer!

Yeah, $1,000 a month! Actually, it was $980 something but close enough to $1,000 to :faint:.

Phew! I'm so glad the health scare turned out to be okay. It's so nerve wracking going through something like that. Lots of positive thoughts coming your way!

And love the Photopass pics. Lacey and Jesse are great posers!

Are you serious? I thought aloha meant family you meaniebutt!

Once back at the resort, we rested a while and took turns using the shower to get freshened up for our dinner ADR. We were going to the Spirit of Aloha luau! It had been a couple of years since we had gone and, since we all had an extra table service credit that hadnt been used our first night, we decided to combine it with this nights credit and do a dinner show. :scratchin I left the picking of the show up to Lacey and Jesse since the majority of us had seen them both but Jesse hadnt seen any of them. He picked the luau.

Prior to our trip, I had purchased Photopass Plus so that the ride and show pictures would be included on the Photopass CD. I wanted to get a really good family picture of all of us (and had thought that I might use it as our Christmas cards....speaking of which, I didnt send out a single one this year :rolleyes1) so we purposely wore color coordinated clothes. Cheesy, I know! Did I care if it was cheesy? Nope!

We were the only people at the bus stop so we set the timer on the camera and attempted a group picture:

We werent running late but we were going to be cutting it close so we were thankful that a bus pulled up to the bus stop quickly and we were on our way to the Magic Kingdom. Once we pulled into the bus stop at the park, we hit the pavement at a quick pace because, as I said, we would be cutting it close. The boat to the Poly and Grand Floridian was just leaving when we approached the pier. Great! Nothing to do but wait. :worried:

As is always the case when youre in a hurry to get someplace, time seemed to stand still. It took forever and a day for the boat to make it back and unload so that we could load. Even then, we had to wait. We were all anxiously looking at the time. Finally, the boat left and the plan was for Lacey and I to hotfoot it over to the luau and check in. I couldnt help but overhear several other guests on the boat who made comments on being late for ADRs as well so maybe it wasnt just me that felt as if time stood still for a while there.

The captain had no sooner gotten the words out of his mouth that we could unload than we were fast/speedwalking towards the theater. The rest of the clan kept up with us...even arthritic foot Mama. Hey, I aint making fun, Im just sayin.

We were going to be right on time. I looked ahead and there were two Photopass photographers there. One was taking a picture of another family and the other looked like he was just waiting on us to get there. However, it wasnt meant to be. I let out a whew and said something like Just in time to have our picture made. to Photopass guy said Youre out of luck. Go that way. At first, I thought that he was kidding but he wasnt. I said Are you serious? You still have your camera out. Yes, Im serious. Head that way. and folded up his camera and left. I looked past him and the other photographer was now gone. I was ticked! Are you serious? I thought aloha meant family you meaniebutt! :furious:

Not having any time to spare to beat the living crap out of the guy for being so rude and not giving two hoots that we were all standing there looking all color coordinated and picture ready, we followed the path where we were greeted by a very nice castmember who asked for our tickets. Tickets? Nooooooo!:scared1: I hadnt picked up our tickets at the resort. The castmember said that it wasnt a problem and took Mama, Lacey and I to the desk, marked us off the list and took us all to our table. Thank goodness for a nice castmember.

Our seats were pretty decent....not at the very very back but not at the front either which I didnt expect since we were using dining credits. We had a pretty good view from where we were. The wait staff were already putting the salads and breads on the tables when we were seated and our waitress was there very soon after. Our waitress brought ours out and took our drink orders. Then, we dug in. Sorry for the lack of food pictures and the quality of what I did take. Oh, and they are out of order too but its easier to put them all in one section:

There were several castmembers walking around and checking with guests to see how they were enjoying themselves and one just so happened to stop at our table. I mentioned that we didnt get to have our picture taken and she asked why. I didnt go into full blown detail but I did tell her that the photographer was rude and wouldnt take our pictures. In about five minutes, an upper level castmember came to our table and asked me for details, names, etc. I told her everything that was said and the photographers attitude. She said that she would take care of us and would be back in a minute. Sure enough, she came back and said that she had arranged for a private photo session for us but we may miss a bit of the show. I told her that was fine with us and I really appreciated her making the arrangements for us.

A little while later, two castmembers came out and asked us to join them. They led the way to a small alcove and were nice enough to take both couple and group pictures:

Once they were done, one of the castmembers showed us back to our table and said that theyd make sure that our package came out to us as soon as they were printed. Now, thats the kind of customer service that Disney used to be known for! :thumbsup2

The show had, indeed, started but we only missed a little of it. The following pictures are bad. Im talking all pink, purply, weird color bad but Ill post them anyway. Just pretend that your back in the 70s with all the groovy colors:

**Continued in next post

We convinced Hunter to go up and doing a dance with the other birthday guests:

My favorite parts of the show are the dances: (short video)

For dessert, we were served bread pudding and, knowing how much John likes Disney’s bread pudding, he asked if the waitress would bring out another portion:

Looks like the Disney love was running rampant this evening. Hunter giving his Mamaw a kiss and me capturing her saying “awwwww”:

Sibling love:

The firetwirler came out and he was the star of the show! He has some mad skills and had the crowd pumped up!

At some point in time, a castmember came over with our picture packet and I told her that we had Photopass Plus and she took my card, came back with my card and my packet and we were good to go.

I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews of the luau but we really enjoy it. Sure, the show has it’s cheesy parts to it but, to us, the food, the songs, the dancers and the firetwirler more than make up for the cheesiness.

John’s brother and his family were attending the luau too and we found out that they were sitting not too far from us. We all walked out together and it was, again, fun to meet up with family while at Disney.

When we got back to the resort, we kicked off our shoes. Hunter was doing something or other on his phone. John had pulled off his shirt and was relaxing on the bed. I, on the other hand, had a little body boarding in mind!

**Up next: 1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake...what about the surprise?

Hey Ms. Lisa. :wave2:

So sorry I haven't been over here much of late. :worried:

I think you know what all is going on in my life so I hope you'll forgive me. :)

I just wanted you to know, I always read all your updates. I may not ever respond but I always read. Some times it's a marathon read when I do it.
I just adore you and your family and love reading about all your antics. It's good to see such a wonderful family together, loving on one another and truly respecting one another. Hard to find these days.

So happy to hear your John (In case you hadn't caught on-I'm married to a John too) is doing well. My John has strange lumps and bumps too, has for many years, the body does that some times. I'll still be praying for all to be well.

Yes, dear friend, I know exactly what you are going through and it's nice of you to take the time to pop in. It's a sad sad world that we live in where a "normal" family is something unique. Isn't it?

Thank you so much for your prayers! Mine for you and your family continue as well!

Love that last picture of you!!! You are hilarious!!

How rude of the photopass photographer! Oooh I would have wanted to give him a piece of my mind!!!

Glad you had a good time at the Luau! Looks like lots of fun!

You know that there's gotta be at least one silly picture in each installment and this time it just happened to be of me. :rotfl:

It was the oddest thing ever...I truly thought that the photographer was kidding at first.

We've been to the luau three times now and we always enjoy it. Like I said, it is cheesy but it's fun.

Lisa, you are too cute! Love the body surfing photo!:rotfl:

Lisa, you are too cute! Love the body surfing photo!:rotfl:

Things like the body surfing pictures seem to happen all the time in my house AND at Disney. :rotfl: At least we aren't boring!

Are you all settled into the new house and have things in order? I bet that you are so happy to be back in a "real" house.

Glad you got good news on John. Will still pray for you all. You have a good guy trying to keep you from worrying. Mine would have come crying home and make me call for an appointment. I mean mine is so good at taking care of me right now, but taking care of himself no way.
Enjoyed all your updates. I can't believe that photo guy. My hubby would have been mad that I brought it up to someone else. He says I need to let go of things. Glad you didn't and got good pictures.

Getting caught up on your last couple of updates. Love the Tiger pics, that was cool you got to see them being fed.

Glad to hear that John's lump wasn't anything to be concerned about, I don't blame you for being mad that he didn't tell you about it sooner, Men!

The SOA pics of the family turned out nice, that's neat that John's brother and his family were there too.

Not boring would describes us too!

We are settled but I don't feel like I will ever be organized. I love being home. In less than three weeks we will be at Disneyland. I can hardly wait! I am thinking of posting a few pictures in the next few days of our not perfectly together home in the next couple of days. I will let you know if I do.:goodvibes
