1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

Wonderful update and great photos!! And I like your matchy matchy outfits!! ::yes:: You all looked wonderful!
Can't believe the grouchy photographers. :scared1: So glad the higher ups more than made up for it.
Looks like a fun time. We have never done the luau. :faint: Did the bread pudding taste like Ohanas?

I have to say that your group made the Spirit of Aloha show seems like a lot of fun. I, too, have heard so many mixed reviews, so its great to hear a positive one. the food looks good and so does the bread pudding - yum!

I love that you got a private picture session. Those pictures are totally awesome. I get it about the photographer having a time limit when the show is ready to start, but there should be a better way to handle it.

And, YES, time DOES stand still when you are trying to get somewhere on time.

I'm so pleased John's lump was fine and I'd have been mad for being kept in the dark too!!

Wow that photographer was rude and I'd have been with you thinking he was joking :confused3

What great service you got later though and I love the photos!

BTW how many people were celebrating :scared1:

Thank you! The photographer was a big time grouch. The bread pudding did taste like Ohana's. Loved it and I don't like bread pudding so that's saying something.

Maybe we are easy to please but we liked the show and the food. John's brother's family did as well.

I love that you got a private picture session. Those pictures are totally awesome. I get it about the photographer having a time limit when the show is ready to start, but there should be a better way to handle it.

If he had of said "I gotta make it quick." or even apologized, I would have been okay with it.

And, YES, time DOES stand still when you are trying to get somewhere on time.

It really does!

Glad you got good news on John. Will still pray for you all. You have a good guy trying to keep you from worrying. Mine would have come crying home and make me call for an appointment. I mean mine is so good at taking care of me right now, but taking care of himself no way.
Enjoyed all your updates. I can't believe that photo guy. My hubby would have been mad that I brought it up to someone else. He says I need to let go of things. Glad you didn't and got good pictures.

Appreciate the prayers! John's usually a big ol' bitty baby when it comes to being sick but he handled this like a gosh darn stubborn man and didn't say a thing.

I don't usually get too riled up about things but that rudeness does that to me. Had the castmember not asked me how things were, I'd have left it alone.

Getting caught up on your last couple of updates. Love the Tiger pics, that was cool you got to see them being fed.

It was neat to see.

Glad to hear that John's lump wasn't anything to be concerned about, I don't blame you for being mad that he didn't tell you about it sooner, Men!

I was so upset with him and he knew it. But, after giving it a little thought, I knew that I couldn't stay mad long.

The SOA pics of the family turned out nice, that's neat that John's brother and his family were there too.

You know what? My sister-in-law forgot to get their tickets too.

Not boring would describes us too!

We are settled but I don't feel like I will ever be organized. I love being home. In less than three weeks we will be at Disneyland. I can hardly wait! I am thinking of posting a few pictures in the next few days of our not perfectly together home in the next couple of days. I will let you know if I do.:goodvibes

Good golly! Your trip is almost here! If you do post pictures, let me know so I can have a look-see.

i'm so pleased john's lump was fine and i'd have been mad for being kept in the dark too!!

we've decided to keep a watch on it and, if nothing changes, ask the neurologist if he feels like we need to pursue it any further.

wow that photographer was rude and i'd have been with you thinking he was joking :confused3

i really and truly thought that he was joking but he sure wasn't.

what great service you got later though and i love the photos!

i thought that they turned out quite good too.

btw how many people were celebrating :scared1:

lots!

FINALLY caught up! :goodvibes AGAIN! Geez… I wish my Real Life Land would slow down! But somehow, I think it's just speeding up! ::yes::

That Photographer… WOW. I am so glad that you said something and that the situation was addressed. Those picture are wonderful and I hope that you at least had a big one printed to frame at your house!

Animal Kingdom, so I have heard, is the hottest park in the bunch. And in case I didn't say it before (cause I've forgotten now where I was….) I love the shirts Lacey made for her and Jesse! Super cute!

And I hope that she wasn't offended about my comment on FB! I was just teasing- I figure that ya'll understood that, but, since she doesn't really know me, I figured I better just CMB (Cover My Booty!).

Oh and I love the pictures of Hunter praying and making faces at the Prayer tree spot. :)

Loved your Luau pictures!!! We did the luau in 2011, and to this day it remains one of our favorite Disney experiences, second only to the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage. :goodvibes

Your family pictures turned out fabulous! ::yes:: The bright yellow leis really make the blues POP in the pictures, good job coordinating! :woohoo:

That fire twirling dude is AWESOME! The most incredible thing happened when we went. At the very end when he drops down to his knees and leans back with his chest up...remember that part? Well, as soon as his chest went up in the air the heavens opened up and it came a torrential downpour!!! I am sure it was no fun for him to be down there getting pelted with rain, but it LOOKED stinking awesome as a finale! :lmao:

Then it wasn't so cool to have to run all the way back from the Luau location back to the monorail, then from the monorail to the MK bus stations in that same torrential downpour....but, hey...it made for some GREAT memories! :rotfl2: :lmao:

Sorry to have to tell ya but it doesn't slow down the older the kids get. :rolleyes2

I was happy that the CM came by and asked how we were enjoying our evening. Otherwise, we might not have gotten the pictures taken.

I don't know why the park seems so hot but it does.

Nah, she would have said something if she was ticked off or offended. She knows that my Dis buddies are a lively funny bunch.

Oh and I love the pictures of Hunter praying and making faces at the Prayer tree spot. :)

Have one there every single year!

I was happy that we got the pictures taken. I though the colors with the leis looked really good together too.

I bet that was a cool finale! It once rained while we were there too but the performers stayed way back on the stage.

Isn't it nice to have such wonderful memories?!?! We have some "rain memories" too.

1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake...what about the surprise?

After having spent day after day in the parks, it was time for a little down time. We were sleeping in! What? Who sleeps in while on vacation? That’s what I used to say too but, over the years, our trips have gotten longer and it’s because we realized that we really do need a day or two to sleep in, recharge our batteries and spend some time at the resort. ::yes::

I can’t be certain but I believe that maybe the kids went swimming and I did a little walking around about mid-morning. Even though we have stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort time and time again, I still like to take a stroll and see the beauty of the landscaping and the white sandy beaches.:beach:

After some strollin’ and swimmin’, we were hungry and decided to hit the food court and see what they had to offer.

The marina which is located near Old Port Royale/Centertown:

Centertown:

One of the signs located in the food court showing some of the options available:

The signs in the individual food stations change/rotate but I did get a few pictures:

Some of the items in the grab-n-go section of the food court:

The items offered at the pizza and pasta station:

**Continued in next post

I’m not even going to ask you to guess who got this:

This was either Lacey or Jesse’s dish from the pizza and pasta station. It looks like a frozen dinner but I remember them saying that it didn’t taste like it and was quite good:

Dessert from the grab-n-go station:

I’m almost positive that this was Mama’s:

Her dessert was a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie which, as you can see, was pretty big:

I have absolutely no idea what the heck this was. I’m thinking that this was Jesse’s since he’s a more adventurous eater than Lacey and I don’t remember any of us ordering it:

I believe that this was John’s philly cheesesteak with the delicious housemade chips:

When we were placing our orders, we were told that the drink station was closed because they were replacing some of the lines. We could get either bottled drinks or the castmembers could pour sodas from bottles into our cups. We all chose the bottled drinks and, somehow, ended up with two extra drinks. I remember one of the castmembers telling us go get X number of drinks and then telling another one of us the same thing. I don’t know but we ended up with extras.

The castmembers ready to wait on guests:

Mama, John and I were sitting next to each other and were talking amongst ourselves. Make that whispering. You will recall that this trip report title also includes the words “1 surprise”. You may also recall that I haven’t revealed that surprise just yet. It was time to reveal the surprise that Mamaw, John and I had for the kids!

We slid each of them a piece of paper and told them not to open it until I had the camera ready. On my go, they opened and.......

Okay, Lisa, you dummy. You can’t take a picture with all that light behind the family. I moved to the other end and told them to act all surprised again:

Look closely at what they are holding. Those right there are Category 2 tickets for Cirque du Soliel! We were going again!

**Up next: Snoopin’ around: I know that it’s gotta be here somewhere. Somebody on the Dis said so!

Welcome back from Disney Scott!
Thank you.

Sorry to hear about John. I will be thinking of you all.
The photopass guy did sound rude.
Nice photos you got to have done.
Looks like it turned out to be a nice evening. Never done the luau but maybe one day.
Nice about the tix for Cirque.

Thank you.

I apreciate the thoughts for John! Hopefully, nothing else comes of the lump.

I don't know what was wrong with the Photopass guy but he could have at least been a little bit nicer even if he weren't going to take our pictures.

The storyline of the luau is pretty cheesy but we like the show and the dancing. Man are those dancers good (and good looking...oops did I say that outloud?):rotfl:

Surprises are the BEST! We surprised our kids with the March 2012 Disney trip, and it was just so special. I love that your kids are all grown, and you still like to spring special surprises on them!! :goodvibes That is when our kids have the chance to show genuine "off the cuff" gratitude, which makes it even more special! :flower3:

Santa Claus still comes to our house and my kids are 16 and 26! I love the whole walking into a room and seeing their looks of surprise. Oh and by the way, no, they don't still believe in Santa. :rotfl:

Just an FYI and note to oneself......getting into a heated debate with your boss about whether or not there are "true Christians" and uttering the words "Are you serious?" "That's bullcrap!" and "Boy pleeeeeze!" is probably not the right thing to do when it's Christmas bonus time. :rolleyes1

Follow up to my previous post.....boss just came in all smiley and chuckling and said "You're spunky! I like that!"

Love your spunkiness to your bos LOL!!

That was nice of the CM to make up for the rude photopass guy. Your family pics came out nice!

We did the luau in 2011 and really enjoyed it. I remember the server helping me blend the wine to my liking....i think i had a row of glasses lines up as i sampled the different one!!

Looks like you all had a great time. Love the firedancer. Amazing to watch...for talent AND physique!

Sounds like you will have a fun Christmas with the whole gang.

Most lawyers are extremely opinionated and think that their way of thinking is the "right" way of thinking. I just wanted him to know that he isn't always right. Not that I am either but still.

I thought that they turned out good too.

Oh yeah, he had a nice physique so did the other performers.::yes::

Sounds like you will have a fun Christmas with the whole gang.

I'm ready for Lacey and Jesse to get here!
