1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

Whenever I think about bringing my parents with us to Disney (say when we have kids), I always try to figure out what my mom would do - she couldn't do a full day in a park, but they could afford one of the deluxe hotels...so...we'd see, I guess. If it ever happens!!

I never thought that I would leave Mama at the resort and not feel guilty about it. She's convinced us though that she'd much rather stay in and rest while we do the "thrill ride stuff". She really enjoys her resort time.

It’s unbelievable I tell ya! A total catastrophe!

Somebody who shall remain nameless....okay, it was me, needed to take a bathroom break and thankfully, there was one nearby. The rest of my gang waited in what little shade they could find and I met back up with them. Apparently, there was music playing somewhere ‘cause I broke out in the Laverne and Shirley Schlemiel Hasenpfeffer Incorporated dance. :cool1:

Our next stop was the Animation Building. Look at the sea of strollers would ya! I’m so glad that my days of pushing a stroller are over with. That is until I have a glambaby!

I think that maybe Jesse either took a pit stop or went into one of the stores while the rest of us took pictures:

Inside the building were displays of the artwork for the upcoming Monsters University:

We stopped and had our picture taken with Sorcerer Mickey and played around with some of the computer games:

There were two groups waiting to get into the art classes so we skipped it and walked on through to the store where I saw this beautiful picture:

Yeah, it had a hefty price tag thus the reason why it’s still hanging on the wall in the store. One day, I’m going to hit the jackpot and I’m wiping out all of the merchandise for sale there. My odds are zilch since it’s very very rare that we buy lottery tickets or go to the casinos.

I’ve looked through my photobucket album and see that I pulled Fastpasses for Toy Story Mania first thing that morning and we didn’t ride.

We passed by the Pixar Place and saw the wait time for Toy Story Mania. Thank you Disney for implementing Fastpass! (Which I know is going to change but I loved it while it lasted.)

**Continued in next post

We marched right on through Pixar Place and to our next stop:

I don’t have pictures of the pre-show and I think that I am remembering correctly that it wasn’t operating and we walked straight through to the props storage area:

The old ball and chain:

Anyone need some new eyeballs?

We boarded our tram and we were on our way:

**Continued in next post

The tram slowly made its way into Catastrophe Canyon and all heck broke loose!

Its unbelievable I tell ya! A total catastrophe! Which dried up and reset in mere minutes:

Wonderful view:

Before continuing on, we looked at a few more props:

I love the movie Titanic and have watched it more times than I can count. It was on a few weeks ago and it made me want to go on another cruise so badly. No need to laugh! I know that its odd that a movie about the sinking of an unsinkable ship would make me want to book another cruise.

It was hot outside and we all needed something refreshing to cool us off. For some of us, that meant frozen Coke and for others, just a Coke, or Mickey Bars.

All caught up!! So sorry to hear about the moms panel, their loss. Clearly the dis is a better resource;). Loving getting to follow along on your family's vacation

Loved the update!!

Lawson and I rode TOT last month and I thought he was going to kill me when we got off.. .We rode it at night and with him being 5, he was scared!! LOL

I love the GMR!! I get on my DH's nerves because I always say that line
" Give my regards to the warden" in a total gangster voice... :)))) :rotfl2:

I thought I was only going to find one update, and I found multiple. :faint: I am so far behind with work (end of year), getting ready for our trip and being sick.

I LOVE TOT...it is my favorite ride in all of Disney. I will probably get on it twice this trip, but hoping for a few more times in June. :)

We enjoy the GMR as well (good place for air conditioning), but it really does need some sort of update. We did the Catastrophe Canyon in August since rumor has it will be gone next year and we hadn't done it in about 8 or 9 years.

I am now sitting here drooling over that cupcake. I so want one. :hyper:

Love the pics of you and John with Lacey and Hunter.

Thank you! I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the report. I've been putting it in high gear lately but I have lots more to come!

Poor Lawson! Tell him that he has more guts than I do since I didn't ride until I was in my 40s.

We gotta pay those husbands back for all the times that they get on our nerves. ;)

I was very proud of myself for going on ToT last time. Not sure I need to go again!

So, it's safe to say that Tower of Terror is not on your Top Ten list? :rotfl:

Ah, Kathy, sick? Now? You ain't got time to be sick. You're going to Disney!

I was just talking to one of my non-Dis friends (I send her copies of my updates.) about the need for some sort of update to the Great Movie Ride. I know that it's supposed to be about classic films but couldn't they add something else in there?

So, it's safe to say that Tower of Terror is not on your Top Ten list? :rotfl:

I am afraid of heights, so I wanted to go to prove to myself that it wouldn't be terrible, but it was still hard. It's also right next to my all-time favorite, which is Rockin' Roller Coaster, so I think it was hard to compare. I love dark rides because I don't know how high up I am but I still get all the thrills. The best! :lmao:

If we go, I'm sure my friend will have lots of opinions, and I would go with her if she wanted - but it'd up to her.

What an awesome day! The kids (and Jon and I too) LOVE Toy Story Mania. I know that if we don't get FP for it, it will be one of those wait forever rides because it is a must do!

I really hope we see the sun on our trip... although, thank goodness, it won't be nearly as hot!

Oh my goodness.....you did it for the very reason that I did! And, you and I are alike on the Rock n' Roller Coaster too. I like it because it's in the dark so I can't see how high I am. We are twinsies! :rotfl:

You know what's weird? I could stand on the 12th deck of the Disney Dream and look all the way down to the sea and I'd not be afraid. I could sit in our 8th deck porthole and look down and not be afraid. Not a little bitty bit. Put me on the deck right above the atrium and look down into the ship and I was scared spitless. Go figure?:confused3

That's so funny!! Dark rides for the win!! :rotfl:

I probably couldn't do any of those things - my real issue is that I have vertigo, which took me a long time to realize. If I look straight down in any of those situations I feel like I'm falling for a split second so...yeah. I mean, it's still partially a phobia that you have to keep working on (I'm better than I used to be - I climbed the alpine tower at camp when I was a teenager and that REALLY helped) but the vertigo makes it really bad. I also have problems with steps that don't have risers - I have to be careful or I start feeling like I'm falling. Brains are weird.

I get that feeling sometimes too. Like on the glass escalators at Dillards. Holy crap, I feel like I'm going to fall to my death. When the Virgin MegaStore was open at Downtown Disney, I'd freak out every time I went up their escalators too and then the glass walls. UGH!

Whadda they know? Theyre tourist!

The drinks and Mickey bars helped to cool us off and we were ready to get a movin again. :hyper: Where to next? How bout we pay a visit to some Muppets!?!?

Usually, this area of the park isnt crowded but it was pretty busy this day:

Waka! Waka! Waka this way!

We couldnt walk straight into the building but rather had to go to the right and around the roped off queue. If youve never paid attention or noticed, look up and youll see some really cute details:

Once inside, we each got our 3D glasses and walked into the preshow area:

What is he doing over there? :confused3 Snooping around or possibly napping? :rolleyes2

Oh I see, taking a phone call. Why am I not surprised? ;)

Whadda they know? Theyre tourist!

The doors opened and we let quite a few people in front of us so that we could get seats relatively close to the center of the theater. Score!

The guy on the right reminds me so much of one of my late uncles. The spitting imagine of him.

For the first time, I tried taking pictures of the show:

All of us laughed at the antics of the Muppets and were still laughing a bit when we came out. It was then that we either called Mama or she called us. She was going to be leaving the resort soon and we discussed how to meet up. We had Fastpasses for Toy Story Mania and we were going to ride that and then walk to the front of the park to meet Mama.

Im quite sure that my score is the lower one. I totally suck at any sort of video game.

**Up next: Prepare to merge like youve never merged before!

Well, this is one way of keeping up with you. You post an update, I post an update. I post another update and you post another update. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

LOVE Muppets. I was so disappointed it was closed in August and we didn't get to see it. Planning on definitely doing it in two weeks or May for sure.

Don't feel back...I stink at TSM too. All I know is I pull really fast and my arm is ready to fall off when I am done with it.

Whatever it takes Kathy! :rotfl:

We love the Muppets too! John especially likes Miss Piggy.

That's exactly the way I feel when I get off Toy Story Mania. My arms are killing me afterwards.

We didn't get to do Muppets either. :sad2:

You are a crazy updating machine today!!!

Loved all the fun you had at DHS. TSM is my most favorite thing to do!! I have quite the competition going with myself. I NEED to be better than a Beaver!!

I LOVE the muppets! I get a little sad when I think about how I grew up on the muppets and my kids will only ever know the "most famous" ones.. ie kermit, miss piggy, fozzy... It makes me sad to think of what the world is coming to.

The picture of "the kids" is a great one!! They look like they are having fun!
