1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

I'm so behind and I can't remember if and when I have posted, so just ignore me if I repeat anything.

So sorry to hear about the Moms Panel. I know the feeling, but I do feel there is a "right" time for all of us and now just isn't it. Someday, though!

We love love love Boma and AKL. AKL is so impressive when you walk in and I just always feel like I'm home when we walk in. Boma is one of our favorites, but we are on a buffet hold right now since my oldest is considered an adult for pricing and she doesn't eat enough to justify it. We did try Sanaa at Kidani Village last trip and really enjoyed it. We were pleasantly surprised.

It seems odd to me to not be planning a WDW trip right now. We aren't planning to go next year at all. Instead, we are planning to head to the DVC resorts in Hawaii and Vero Beach. It's still Disney...only different. We'll be ready to head back to WDW after that, though.

I'm all caught up! Somehow, I fell behind yet again.

Its a bummer about the mom's panel. They have no idea what they are missing out on! Like another poster said, I prefer the dis.

Hollywood studios is AWESOME!!!!!!! I think that we spent the most time in that park on our last trip. I'm pretty sure that I rode RNRC at least 10 times, and TOT 7 times!! I also remember riding TSM and actually getting the highest score out of my family! That NEVER happens, so no wonder i remembered it!!

Those Darth Vader cupcakes looked delicious!!! I've never done muppet vision 3D, but I don't remember why I've never seen it???? It certainly looks hilarious!

I'm glad things turned around at Mama Melrose. I'm sure that could have turned quite ugly.

We've not eaten there for a few years...we plan on going back in September for sure.

I'm not a Rock & Roll fan and would be sitting it out just like your mama.

Funny how you figured out by park which ride your mama wanted and she was so happy she got to do it. :goodvibes

Hangs head in shame... I am still here...

OH how epilepsy sucks, I am SO SORRY! Thank goodness the waitress backed off and for little magic pills! The food looked yummy and I am happy there weren't any dessert pics, I would have just wanted to eat something sweet.

Loved the RNR video and your pics are great and the score on TS...rivals mine. :rotfl2:

I hope you get all of the work finished by Wednesday, so you can focus on what you need to! :grouphug:

Praying this week goes smoothly! :flower3:

Sorry your meal started out on a bad note, but I'm glad she had the decency to recognize she needed to stop. Poor John. That's got to be hard living with a condition like that. I'm glad the meds will help eventually.

So glad you figured out what ride Mama wanted to go on!

Holy Cow! I missed a lot there! Great updates - I wish I had the guts (literally) to go on RnR! It looks so fun, but I lost my ability to tolerate coasters after I had kids for some reason. :confused3

I was an updating machine for a while there but now I've slowed down to just a crawl.

Good thing that waitress at Mama's figured it out! We don't want anyone to incur the wrath!

I don't know if she was really supposed to act like that or what.

I know you'll be busy - so if I am not back here before then - I wanted to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to your family as well!

I do always feel so bad when you talk about John's epilepsy and his moodiness associated with it. I can't help but think that the pathways in the brain that get stimulated are the same as with the moodiness and anger of bipolar. It's like a switch if flipped and there is no going back. Thank goodness he has a reliable medication that keeps his mood stable. It just must be a terrible feeling for him.

You hit the nail on the head! His mood can change in the blink of an eye. It's sad to see him go from being happy go lucky to madder than mad. He often wants to know what he looks like, sounds like or says when he has a petit maul seizure and I can hardly make myself describe it to him because I know that it's not "him".

I really hope the waitress was just messing with you guys and its awesome that she recognized to quit (thanks to you) and the meal had a happy ending. Way to go Lisa!

She would have been right at home at 50s Prime Time.

All the food looks yummy. We had a nice meal there last June. We almost blew off the ADR but decided to go for it and I'm glad we did.

I've always been pleased with our food at Mama Melrose's.

I don't think I'm completely caught up yet, but I hope to. I have been MIA for the last month and I am slowly making my way through everyone's TRs.

You've been working like a mad woman.

Oh yeah - and that sideways video of RnR made me dizzy. Thanks! :rotfl2:

Oops!

I like to take pictures of the artwork they have for sale too. I can't afford to buy it but I take pics of my favorite ones so I can still look at them.

If you can't buy 'em, take a picture of 'em! ;)

I rode RnRC for the first time this trip. I got so sick from the launch and then my head was banging around in the vehicle the whole time. I really wanted to like it but once was enough for me:sick:

I'm so scared of heights that I was super nervous the first time I rode it. The way you describe the feelings that you had on RNRC are the same that John feels on Expedition Everest.

That waitress must have been playing a part. I can't believe she would act that way if she weren't and be expecting to get a tip. I'm glad John's magic pills kicked in and the evening turned around.

I have no idea what was wrong with the waitress but she had an Attitude. She would have been right at home at Prime Time though.

Well, I'm hoping since it's Sunday, that I'm caught up and I can STAY caught up without you posting something right after me! :rotfl2:

Lucky for you, I haven't posted anything else. :rotfl:

I agree with TinkerTam- Hunter is gonna turn into a slice of Pizza! ;) I'm considering changing up my HS day… and your post has me thinking…

Hunter could eat pizza every single day of the week!

YAY for Jesse and Lacey driving early down to Disney! It's nice that they were okay with them bunking up with Mama that night! And how sweet of them to decorate and have a little "party" for you and Mamaw!

We were all very pleased that they arrived and had a whole day instead of a half day. They were super sweet to surprise us.

AKL looks amazing- I want to try Boma one day! I know I love TH and I've heard that it's similar food.

I've never eaten at Tusker House but Boma is delicious!

Okay, I think that's all I can remember! Good luck on the work stuff this week!

Work has been busy this week. Thank goodness we are closing early tomorrow.

Buffets for the younger "adults" aren't always the best choice are they?

I noticed the ticker Miss Thang! Even though you may miss WDW, you're still doing Disney!

I'm glad things turned around at Mama Melrose. I'm sure that could have turned quite ugly.

Even if John had been feeling perfectly fine, the night would have been ugly if she had kept up her attitude.

We've not eaten there for a few years...we plan on going back in September for sure.

There was one attraction that we could never figure out what she was talking about. I still don't know to this day.

Girl, get that head up! You've been a busy woman!

OH how epilepsy sucks, I am SO SORRY! Thank goodness the waitress backed off and for little magic pills! The food looked yummy and I am happy there weren't any dessert pics, I would have just wanted to eat something sweet.

EPILEPSY DOES SUCK!

Loved the RNR video and your pics are great and the score on TS...rivals mine. :rotfl2:

I am absolutely NO good at video games.

I hope you get all of the work finished by Wednesday, so you can focus on what you need to! :grouphug:

The appellate brief is in the mail and I'm working on monthly billing so it's all downhill from here.

Praying this week goes smoothly! :flower3:

Thank you!

I don't have a clue what flew up that woman's behind but she was just plain out rude. Even if John had been feeling perfectly fine, there would have been problems.

Worked like a charm!! People actually thought I was working! :rotfl: And you posted prior to 4:30pm which is when my workday ends! Awesome update! Gee, I'm thinking the pizza was Mama's?? No? Lacey's? hmmmm I bet it was Hunter's! I just love your Mama in her 3D glasses. That's one hot mamaw right there!!! ::yes::

Oops, I missed this post. I'm betting you know who really ordered the pizza. :lmao: Mama had her glasses on under the 3D glasses so she looked really hot!

Appellate brief is done, signed, sealed and on it's way to being delivered! Yay! It's monthly billing time and I'm about 1/3 of the way through the dictation tape but I'm not in any hurry to get it finished before we shut the doors tomorrow at Noon. So....I'm writing another trip report update or maybe even two of them since the next one is going to be short.

Ya'll hang tight!

Where are my satin evening gowns?

Ya’ll, I’ve already told you about my Mama and her jewelry lovin’.:rolleyes2 I’ve also told you that she’s a worry wart. :( What I haven’t told you is her obsession with hair and haircuts. :p She thinks that everybody should have their hair neat and trimmed and styled just so or she can’t stand it. She doesn’t like most hair accessories nor does she care for a lot of women’s hair color choices. You know Flo the Progressive Insurance lady? She just “wants to run a comb through her ratty hair”. :rotfl:

Poor thing is probably always in a tizzy over my hair. I go from long to short to long again and I’m constantly putting a temporary hair color on my hair. Yes, I have gray hair. Do I care if I go gray? No. I just don’t like the fact that I only have gray hair in my part. Looks like a bad hair dye job gone bad. So, I choose to put a temporary color in and let it wash out over time and I redo it every couple of months. Once I get those pretty gray streaks everywhere, I'll stop. Mama hardly ever comments on my hair prolly ‘cause she lives by the old school rule: “If you can’t say nothing nice about your kinfolk, don’t say nothing at all else there'll be a family feud.” :lmao:

But, every now and then she does let a little something slip. Like, one time, out of the blue, while talking on the phone with Lacey, she mentioned that Jesse needed a haircut. Ya’ll need to remember that Lacey and Jesse live over 600 miles from Mama. All she saw was one little picture of Jesse and she thought that he needed a haircut. :confused3 It’s been a running joke every since.

Lacey had an elastic headband on and all evening long, Mama would ask her “Doesn’t that hurt? Doesn’t that itch? Does that bother you? It would bother me.” Lacey would tell her that it was fine and it didn’t hurt, itch or bother her. Annnnyway, I told ya’ll all of that so that the next picture would make sense. Jesse was joking around with Mama after dinner and he pulled off his hat, put on Lacey’s headband and fluffed up his hair and asked “Mamaw do you think I need a haircut?”

Oh Jesse! My son-in-law, you fit in just right with this crazy family! Mama just hit him on the arm and said “Boy!”.

I told ya’ll earlier that we had gone to Muppetvision 3D again so that Mama could see it but then I turned back around and said that we did it later. Now, I’m back to that point. We walked over to Muppetvision 3D and Hunter had to stop and see if the key was under the mat:

Despite the fact that you can’t see it in the picture, the key was there. Cool!

We picked up our 3D glasses and went into the pre-show area where I finally found my darn satin evening gowns! I had been looking everywhere for them and, all along, Miss Piggy had them:

I love all of the details Disney puts in:

Mama said that she was glad that we had gone back for her to see the show because she had forgotten how cute it was. It was nearing time for Fantasmic so we started making our way towards the theater. First, a tinkle break was in order and there were bathrooms nearby. Some shots of the scenery while we waited on one another:

**Up next: She’s 79 years old and she’s still got it!

She’s 79 years old and she’s still got it!

It’s a pretty long walk from Muppetvision to the Fantasmic theater and we were taking it at a slow pace so that Mama wouldn’t tire out. I took several pictures along the way but they didn’t turn out good at all. Just a few looked decent enough to post:

We made it to the long pathway to the theater entrance and we were all so glad that we broke out in dance:

She’s 79 years old and she’s still got it! :p Shake it Mamaw! Shake it! :cool1:

As I told ya’ll before, Mama and steps don’t mix too well so we tried to find a bench that wasn’t too far down and had space available at the end. Once settled, John went and got some drinks and we waited for the show to begin.

Most of my pictures were blurry (they always do but I keep trying):

**Continued in next post

Some were decent:

I LOVE FANTASMIC! :lovestruc

I don’t love this part which is why we always let most of the theater clear out before even attempting to leave:

After a while, we walked down the path and to the front of the park which was now closed. The bus came soon after we got to the stop and we had no trouble getting seats. Another good thing about waiting for the crowds to clear out. :thumbsup2

**Up next: How much stuff do you think we can fit in there? That's a great question!

How much stuff do you think we can fit in there? That's a great question!

Because we have stayed at Caribbean Beach so many times, I’m a frequent poster over on the CBR info thread. Many people ask how big the refrigerators are, how much they will hold, will a gallon of milk fit, etc. We had ordered from Garden Grocer and one of the items that we ordered was a gallon of sweet tea, some canned drinks, a half gallon of milk and a few other things. Like any good Diser, I took pictures to post when I got back:

During our previous visits, we noticed that we could put drinks against the back of the fridge and they’d have ice slushes in them the next day. This time was no different. See the ice on the wall:

Pictures taken, we were all ready to hit the sack. Tomorrow, we were visiting another park! No rest for the weary!

**Up next: Hollywood Studios Photopass pictures

Good think Jesse didn't ask Mama about a haircut in the Magic Kingdom… She could have walked him straight to the Harmony Barber Shop and had that taken care of quickly! :rotfl:

I hope we catch Fantasmic on the next trip!

Love the pics of the fridge! :thumbsup2 Dr. Pepper is a necessity for me! :goodvibes

I like your F! pictures! I especially like the fire ones. They look cool. I haven't seen that show is quite a while and I really need to revisit it.

I love that Mama was out dancing in the street! She really does still "got it".

Too funny about Jesse and the headband. :rotfl2:

Great updates and pics.

Loved the dance moves. :rotfl2:

Glad the waitress changed her tude'.

I haven't been posting much, but I've been reading! Love the updates and the pictures. Love Mama's enthusiasm and spunk!!

LOVE the picture of your Mama dancing. And the kids too. I can't wait to see Fantasmic again. I haven't seen it since 2001! I think my kids are old enough now that they'd love it.

LOL about the hair. Tell Jesse he looked "pretty." Can't wait to see your PP pics.
